    Richard B. Frank is an American lawyer and historian. He is the author of a number of critically-acclaimed books, including Guadalcanal (1990), Downfall: The End of the Imperial Japanese Empire and, most recently, Tower of Skulls (2020), the first instalment of a 3-volume history of the Asia-Pacific War. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam as an aerofile platoon leader in the 101st Airborne Division.
