    Episode 5: Party Town B.C.

**Explicit language/content warning** Mountain Mythic is back with its biggest installment yet. Join us in our luxurious limousine as we take a closer look at Whistler’s infamous party culture: where it’s been, what’s driving it now and the darker side of the let-loose lifestyle. We welcome legendary local DJs Ace MacKay-Smith (aka DJ Foxy Moron) and Scott Arkwell (aka Vinyl Richie) into the party limo to share some of the wisdom they’ve gleaned from decades behind the turntables, before hearing from a pair of people who know all too well the high cost that sometimes comes with drug use. Featuring music from Red Chair (recorded live at The Longhorn on Saturday, April 8) and Matt Hoyles (live from the Crystal Lounge on the same night). Check them out at www.redchairmusic.ca and www.matthoyles.com.

    Episode 4: Welcome to 2017

Mountain Mythic is back with a quick fix for the New Year. Recorded in the parking lot of the Pique Newsmagazine office in Function Junction (those car acoustics really come through in a pinch), this episode is an informal, straightforward look back/look ahead at what’s to come in 2017. We welcome Pique sports editor Dan Falloon and arts editor Cathryn Atkinson into our temporary mobile studio to share some thoughts on where we’ve been and we’re headed. Be sure to subscribe on iTunes and follow along as Mountain Mythic aims for new heights in 2017. Music heard in this episode: “Heavy Life” by Black Flamingo and “Ginger Park” by 50 Foot Wave. www.freemusicarchive.org.

    Episode 3: Housing Crisis

The third episode of Mountain Mythic, a Pique Newsmagazine podcast production recorded at WMN Studio in Whistler, B.C. On this episode we look at how Whistler’s current housing crisis is affecting people in the community, from a four-year local from Ireland looking at living in his truck to a long-time Whistler ski bum actively building a squat for the winter. In the second half of the episode we welcome Jackie Dickinson from Whistler Community Services Society to talk about the importance of housing, and the widespread implications it has for Whistler. Music heard in this episode: "On My Way Home" by Love Story in Blood Red, "Temporary Homes" by Cud Eastbound and "Take Me Home" by J Burn. www.freemusicarchive.org
