Bibbidi Bobbidi Book Launch Vibes: BTS of Jadah's Prep and Process (+ a giveaway!) [NE 082]
I loved this convo so much that I had to bring it directly to you. (It started on Jadah Sellner's Lead with Love podcast, just like our last episode!) In this one, we bottle Jadah's pre-launch feels in the weeks before her best-selling book She Builds officially launched into bookstores, homes, and earbuds. I asked all my nosy Qs so we can benefit when it's our turn to jump! Jadah shares get nitty gritty details on what made her audiobook recording process a huge success, plus we jam on what it was like collaborating in our unofficial "Bibbidi Bobbidi Book Retreat" at Disneyland for her birthday in May 2022. (Tune in for details, especially if you'd love to fly me out to a 5* or Disney Resort, lux National Park lodge to play the role of Fairy Doc Mother ;)). We also talk hair - highlights, lowlights, and giggle a lot. Probably sounds a bit like an SNL skit at times - the ones with the ladies and their microphones. Bottom line here: ( love this book so much and would love to share it with you. If you don't yet have the Audible version and would love to enter the She Builds audiobook giveaway, take a screenshot of the pod as you listen, then tag @nikkielledgebrown @jadahsellner AND two of your besties! I'll announce the winner at the end of the month. (You can learn more and grab your hard copy at shebuilds.com in the meantime; the exercises are so helpful to SEE in written form!) Take a listen here or in your preferred pod player and as always – let me know your fave takeaway by taking a screenshot (or a selfie) as you listen + tagging me on Instagram @nikkielledgebrown with #naptimeempires.I’ll meet you there!______________________________If you enjoyed this episode, safe to say you will LOVE The Naptime Empires Survival Guide - a free email-and-audio series I created to help get you out of overwhelm / hiding in the bathroom and back into aligned, imperfect action. BFFs and Bookity Books: Creative Cocoon Life with Jadah Sellner [NE 081]
In this super-special book mode episode, my Polly Pocket BFF* Jadah Sellner and I invite you behind the scenes to join us for a convo on pretty much ALL THE THINGS. (*we were born in the 80s and basically audio livestream our days to each other via the Voxer app, hence Polly Pocket) If you haven't met her yet, Jadah's the star of NE episode SIX and I've been on her Lead with Love podcast a couple times too. She's an author, speaker, coach, and one of my favorite humans. In this dual-podcast convo (recorded days after our most recent friend trip to Austin and Waco!), we cover a lot of ground, including but not limited to: the path to traditional book deals (she's working on her second traditionally published book now!) practices for mindful + intuitive decision-making the power of friends who KNOW you managing fam expectations around biz + work time maintaining stamina while working on manuscript(s) #pomqueens: the power of the pomodoro technique navigating life, loss, AND time-sensitive creative projects challenges of having two parents at home (my active duty spouse self would roll her eyes SO HARD) sQuad trip origin stories - making time for fruitful *in person* friendship as women with full plates behind-the-scenes shares on our homework assignments, packing habits, and unique travel styles our ever-changing relationship(s) with visibility, privacy, social media and creative expression -- and how we ended up discussing this with author Liz Gilbert and more, of COURSE. Take a listen here or in your preferred pod player and as always – let us know your fave takeaway by taking a screenshot (or a selfie) as you listen + tagging us on Instagram @nikkielledgebrown and @jadahsellner with #naptimeempires and #leadwithlove. Profitable Priorities [NE 080]
Since I am and work with a lot of humans who care about building businesses that fit into LIFE (vs. the other way around), this concept comes up a lot in conversations with my clients, my friends, mySELF. I'm anchoring this idea here so we have it when we’re feeling a bit aimless and sneaky, avoiding the work that we KNOW will lead to the results we deeply desire. It's time we talk profitable priorities. (*Profitable prios* for obnoxiously short. Check your local GIF library for stickers.) It’s not so much about the time we have in a given day. It’s not even just about the energy. It’s about confidently knowing that, even if we only have a teeny pocket of time to dedicate to moving our businesses forward in a given day, we're crystal clear on our personal paths to least resistance and the most profit (for ourselves, our teams, our fams, and our clients). This episode is a mini coworkshop -- I'm inviting you to do the work with me in real time: What specific action(s) led to you enrolling the last client you LOVED working with? And what about the time before that? And the time before that?Did you send an email? Publish a podcast? Reach out to a past client or friend to say "hey, I'm offering this - know someone who would benefit?"Maybe you did some EFT / tapping videos without making a public PEEP. Your energy shift was enough to call 'em in.Maybe you updated your sales page.MAYBE you relistened to the DIY copywriting course you created years ago in podcast form and remembered how valuable it is!Perhaps it was a client magnet-themed guided visualization that did the trick… seeing all the people from around the world who are the PERFECT match for what you most love to offer feeling drawn to you with a clear, heart-centered KNOWING. Your challenge right now, should you choose to accept it, is to make a list of the top three to five activities that consistently bring clients into your sphere. Think and be SUPER honest. It’s okay if they seem weird. If they’ve worked at least a couple times, it’s worth testing to see if they continue to work! And if it’s just one or two main things that work, consider this your sign that it’s time to double DOWN on those activities. Refresh your list at least once a quarter so you’ve got it handy. Keep it in your phone via Notes or Google docs. Post it by your computer screen.I venture to guess that even if you only have 25 minutes today - one micro-hustle pomodoro sprint… if you allow yourself to focus ONLY on profitable prios, you will feel amazing. You did what you could do to turn your “open for business” light on today. You showed up so you could engage in a mutually beneficial exchange with the people who need you the most right now, which benefits THEM, benefits YOU, and benefits the people you love and care for. Change in Plans [NE 078]
Once upon a time (at the start of summer 2021) I launched season four: BOOK MODE with the intention of tracking my journey to self-publishing. Then my friends came to town and shook that ish up.In this episode I’ll share why we’ve had a CHANGE IN PLANS over here, why it feels a bit scary to admit that out loud and in published form, AND what that means for coming episodes. Musings include, but are not limited to: - why I originally went down the self-publishing path - behind-the-scenes of a (probably life-changing?) late night summer sQuad convo - the power of finding one clear, inclusive goal that makes all your other micro-goals inevitable stepping stones (repeatedly) - why I’m a bit nervous to publish this episode :) - a simple yet super powerful exercise for more mindFULL, intuitive decision making - a detailed list o' the benefits and drawbacks I *currently* see to both traditional and self-publishing paths - subject to change as I gather more actual experience! Draft. Edit. Repeat. (My Process to Date) [NE 077]
Context matters. Before I can actually UPDATE you on book progress, I gotta catch you up to speed on where we're starting from. How we got to the current moment / draft in time. In this episode I'll share an overview of my personal writing (drafting, revising) process to date, including, but not limited to: how and why I chose Naptime Empires as my first book (with a squillion other ideas circulating) what prompted the first draft back in April 2020 the exact process I used to go from 0 to 94k words in 12 days why I stopped working on it for months after that what got me back in the editing saddle (courtesy of Mother Nature's #nofilter sense of humor) the perks o' not meeting my original goal publish date how working on my book has been a boost to my physical health ideas for future episodes (share your vote via naptimeempires.com/convo!) If you have no plans to write a book, this may not be your fave ep. It's very housekeeping-y and in the weeds. If you DO want to write (or have already written!) a book, howev, my hope is that hearing takeaways from my own messy process will help give you ideas. And/or confidence. Because it's entirely possible you've really got your author ish together and hearing my journey helps you feel better about yours(elf). Either way it's a win in my book / podcast. Season 4: BOOK MODE. Here's the plan. [NE 076]
Introducing Naptime Empires: BOOK MODE - aka Season 4! You only write your first book once. (Or like, four times in slightly different ways, if you're me.) It's time for season FOUR o' the Naptime Empires® podcast - the journey to episode 100 and the publication of the Naptime Empires book! In this series of episodes I'll be sharing the good, the bad, the ugly of my creative and procrastinative process. WHY? Because I work best with a mutual inspiration society (being in conversation with YOU) and I am lovingly challenging myself to get this baby out - at least in ebook form! - before we hit episode 100. Just created a Google form (which I'll link in every episode description) where you can share any Qs you have for me about the process, the content, or just about anything else.* *I also welcome peer pressure "come on I wanna read it!" vibes to help me get over myself and get this book out of my google docs and into our hands and earbuds. Here's the link where you can share your side of the conversation: naptimeempires.com/convo You can also join the convo by taking a screenshot (or a selfie as you listen) + tagging me on Instagram @nikkielledgebrown with #naptimeempires. I'll keep track of your notes and use them as inspo for future episodes. As always, thanks being part of the #naptimeempires conversation. The Final Countdown: An Update on Baby, Book, and Biz-Nesting [NE 067]
Big updates ahead! In this episode, which is basically like one big Voxer message from me to YOU, I share the scoop on all things baby (recorded in week 36-37 of pregnancy!), book (still cookin'), and biz-nesting. I share: What’s worked (what hasn’t) when prepping for baby - labor and delivery and fourth trimester healing, my vision for maternity leave this round (how it’s different from last time), how I’ve prepped on the biz side, and what to expect from the podcast over the next few months as I’m in book and baby bubble mode. On that note: Over the summer (2020) I had the chance to record a sweet batch o' conversations with biz buddies (and inspiring entrepreneurial moms) near and far. Pandemic and quarantine made for some interesting intermissions as we recorded... on all sides. ;) I'm grateful to share that I was able to muster the focus and brainwidth to prep the convos and show notes BEFORE going into labor; they're all lined up and ready to roll out over the next few months as I find my sea legs as a mom of three. You're in for a treat. ❤️ This is meant to spark conversation - I'd love to hear from you. As you listen to the update, let me know any Qs or your fave takeaway by taking a screenshot (or a selfie as you listen) + tagging me on Instagram @nikkielledgebrown with #naptimeempires. Go to sleep, mom. [NE 062]
This episode is an audio permission slip to GO TO SLEEP, MOM. When you're feeling tired and cranky, or maybe a bit mentally foggy and slooowwww... When you're reaching for caffeine to make it through the afternoon or staying up way beyond everyone else's bedtime to squeeze in extra work (or Netflix, let's be honest)... Consider, perhaps, that a bit more sleep could do you good. [Note: This ep is for moms who have reasonable control over their bedtimes. Staying up late because of habits we can totally change. Moms with newborns or babies not sleeping through the night - listen at your own risk. I know it's annoying to hear people talk about sleep as if it's a simple CHOICE. How could we ever take it for granted?? Save this episode for when you have the privilege of taking it for granted too. Then, go the eff to sleep. Love you mean it.] In this ep, I share my own battle with the "sleep when baby sleeps" advice, how napping can qualify as a $10,000 / hour activity in my book, and a few tricks (high and low tech) that I've been trying to help increase both the quality AND quantity of my sleep this year. Close the tab(s). [NE 061]
As moms, business owners, and HUMANS in the 21st century - there's a whole lot to keep mental track of in this lifetime. At any given moment we're holding mental space for all KINDS of tasks and to-dos... scheduling dentist appointments, emails, laundry, meals, projects, client work, personal finances... it's a lot. Thing is - when we let #allthetasks build up, keeping squillions of mental tabs open at a given time, we drain our precious energy. (And think about it - you could have all the free/ alone time in the world, but if you don't have the energy to do something fulfilling or fruitful with it... what's the value of that time?) Every now and then we need to clear the mental decks and take our energy back. In this episode I share my fave process for doing just that -- the power of (what I call) a brain sneeze - how you can use pen + paper to take a HUGE load off your shoulders in 15 minutes or less. I also cover a simple DECISION framework to help you create a clear action plan for each and every thing on your list. Whether you delete, delay, delegate, or DO the dang thing, my guess is you will feel a WHOLE lot better after you close some tabs today. (And YEP... you fully deserve to feel better and better and better.) The Pregnant Pause: How to Come Back After a Break [NE 060]
If you've ever gone a week, a month, a YEAR without posting in your "regular" schedule and you've felt a bit shamey or awkward about stepping back onto the field - this one's for you. In this episode I unpack my own process for coming back from my most recent (three month) podcast break. I share the fears and guilty shamey thoughts that creep in, the overwhelm of deciding which topic to choose (there are so manyyyyy hence the "pregnant" pause!), how to reframe so you can feel genuinely GRATEFUL for the break, and how to stack up the benefits to inspire yourself into aligned action again. There are also some mentions of how my jeweler helped me learn this lesson, a sweet memory of how and when the idea for #naptimeempires first came into my consciousness, and an exciting announcement about where we go from here. Sarah Ashman on Bringing Your Brand to Visual Life [NE 058]
For years Sarah Ancalmo-Ashman used her talents as a graphic designer, stylist, and creative director to craft visually compelling, award-winning print, digital, and television brand + advertising campaigns for brands like Estée Lauder, Ted Baker London, Vogue, Madonna, Origins, Mercedes Benz, Jimmy Fallon, and Coach. In 2012, she shifted her creative focus to collaborate with rule-breaking, name-taking female entrepreneurs + thought-leaders through her branding studio Public Persona. Today she uses the strategies, techniques, and discerning eye that served the big brands to help her clients stand out miles (and millions) above the competition. In this episode we talk about how the transition to motherhood is going for her (her little guy Lucas is 10 months old at the time had this convo). We talk about identity both in terms of visual branding and life in general - the value of having someone you trust to hold up the mirror when you’re getting foggy on what that looks like. We talk about the value of white space (and how easy it is to take it for granted), and how to design your life and business around what you value most in a given season. A Selfish Ask [NE 057]
Weird ep warning: I'm calling in a quick favor today, dude. Would LOVE and so appreciate it if you'd play along! If you've enjoyed any or all of these podcast episodes, this week I'm (selfishly and shamelessly) asking you to take two minutes (or less) to leave a rating + review to tell me so. WHY? Because I'm at the very beginning (fun AND awkward) stages of writing my first book, have NO shortage of ideas, and could use some aligned human (aka dreamie) reflections to serve as bumpers in the bowling lane at the moment. This review doesn't need to be fancy, clever, or any certain length. TRUTH is what I'm looking for. I'd just love to know why you tune in to this podcast. It can be a particular message or solo episode... a key takeaway, perspective shift, or even a feeling. Just let me know you're out there - and what you're getting from these convos we've been having in my guest room studio ;) BONUS: If you're listening to this LIVE as it goes up - when you leave a review, screenshot it, and tag me @nikkielledgebrown in your Instastory between now and Friday 12/21/18, you'll be on the short list of potential dreamies who could win a free 1:1 sesh with me. And finally - if you love the idea of working with me 1:1 - personalized pep talks, reality checks, friendtorship sessions, etc. - GOOD! Because I'm opening up a few 1:1 spots for 2019. Visit http://workwithnikki.com to apply and tell me more about what you're looking for. If I think we'd make a great match, I'll let you know, and if not, I'll do my best to point you in the direction of someone or something that can help you with your next right step. Sound good? SWEET! Meet me in the ep if you want more details, or tap on over to leave your review now. THANK YOU in advance for making the time _____________________________________ 1:1 APPLICATION: http://workwithnikki.com SHOW NOTES: http://naptimeempires.com/057 INSTA: http://instagram.com/nikkielledgebrown FB GROUP: http://naptimeempires.com/facebook MUSIC: "So Far So Close" by Jahzzar is licensed under an Attribution-ShareAlike License.Take a listen here or in your preferred pod player and as always – let me know your fave takeaway by taking a screenshot (or a selfie) as you listen + tagging me on Instagram @nikkielledgebrown with #naptimeempires.I’ll meet you there!______________________________If you enjoyed this episode, safe to say you will LOVE The Naptime Empires Survival Guide - a free email-and-audio series I created to help get you out of overwhelm / hiding in the bathroom and back into aligned, imperfect action. Reina Pomeroy on Trust, Transitions, and Finding What's FUN [NE 056]
Reina Pomeroy is a speaker, coach, podcaster, founder of Reina + Co and creator of the Dreamy Client Magnet Program. In this convo we cover all kinds of life + biz goodness - from why she left her career in social work to support creative entrepreneurs, to how she intentionally created new hobbies when she realized that, well, she had none. (I can totally relate. ha) We talk about how working fewer hours has been exactly what she needs in this season of life, how she's read over 130 (!) books in 2018, and a fun sneak peek at a big (totally not biz-related) goal she has for 2019. Get back in the game. [NE 055]
If you're sitting on the figurative sidelines of your own life or business, feeling stuck in imposter syndrome and excuses - why you're not qualified, why your voice isn't as valuable as the so-and-so the next tab over, why it's just not the right time to share that message you genuinely feel called to share...pull up an earbud and get comfy, friend. In this ep I share some ideas / reframes to help you shift OUT of imposter syndrome and INTO joining the conversation. Owning YOUR perspective for what it is at the moment, trusting that if and when your understanding shifts, you'll know what to do next. The Gift of Mom Guilt [NE 054]
Mom guilt gets a bad wrap. http://naptimeempires.com/003). I offer up the idea of seeing mom guilt (any guilt, and really any emotion) as valuable feedback. Instead of hot-potato'ing our way out of uncomfortable emotions, what happens if we see them as teachers and opportunities to evaluate + recalibrate? I also share a simple (not easy, but SIMPLE) exercise that has helped me take the sting out of guilt so I can GET to the point of seeing the lesson. There's always a benefit if we're willing to look hard enough. Have a listen and tag me in your Instastory @nikkielledgebrown with your fave aha. This convo is just beginning! It's okay to take a break. [NE 050]
In this episode I'm asking you to get HONEST about the why, where, what, when, and how of your online presence. In Permission to Unplug [NE 007] I shared ahas from my social-media free weekends, and that was more about CONSUMPTION. In this ep we're talking more about creation. Behind the scenes I see so many biz owners questioning if they should take a break from the internet - step away for a little bit (for a baby, for a holiday, for ANY reason), feeling fear that they'll be forgotten if they honor that nudge. #spoileralert: there's no one right answer but this is YOUR LIFE and every day matters, so you gotta get clear on YOUR answer. In this thinking-out-loud solo ep, I talk about why I think *most autoresponders are unnecessary, why you don't need to apologize for shifting how and when you show up online, and how your truest dream clients + customers will love you even MORE for how you show up for yourself (because you're showing that it's possible for them too). I love this convo. If you decide you're not taking a total internet break, find me online to share your fave ahas. Remember: YOU'RE THE BOSS. The Power of Real Friendships [NE 048]
I recently returned from a ridiculously amazing trip over the rainbow -- back to Hawaii for the first time since moving to Texas one year ago! - and one of my BIGGEST reflections was the reminder that life is SO much better when it's shared with people we care about. Motherhood, entrepreneurship, even LIFE in this social media age can feel surprisingly isolating at times. In this episode I share some of my best practices for attracting + nurturing meaningful friendships - how to find 'em AND how to prioritize 'em. Your homework for today is to reach out to a buddy who's on your heart and mind and check in to see how s/he's doing. BONUS points if you plan a lunch / dinner / weekend to get together for some face-to-face friend time. As one who's still riding the wave of love and friend time even a week after returning home, lemme tell you: the potential ROI is infinite. CALL 'EM, DUDE. How to Make Time for Life Stuff [NE 046]
This episode was inspired by the loooong list of "personal" to dos that I've carried with me for several months since moving back to Texas from Hawaii. You know -- the to-dos you write down week after week, month after month, because you know they’re air quotes important and you really SHOULD sit down to just do the thing: Schedule a dentist appointment. Schedule a dermatologist appointment. Schedule a mammogram. (Do your own self breast exam!) Contact the Apple store. Order those lightbulbs. In this ep I share a handful of my own personal to do items that have finally graduated to the “done” (or at least “scheduled”) pile in my brain. (They’ve graduated because I wanted to be able to report that to you in this VERY episode. How meta.) If you’ve had at least ONE simple yet meaningful personal to do haunting you for way too long, listen in and grab a shot of inspo so you can throw your own personal to-do-to-done graduation party this week. 7 Money Mindset Shifts to Make TODAY [NE 044]
It's time to get back to basics over here - and we're starting with money mindset. If you've ever thought to yourself: “I have to be thin / organized/ otherwise perfect to be successful.” “If I’m not going to be the #1 expert in the field (#oprah), I shouldn’t even try.” “If I’m not working hard (i.e. near burnout), I don’t deserve to make money.” QUEUE this one up and repeat as needed. In this ep I review Denise Duffield-Thomas' seven money mindset shifts to help you clear the way to make more money without adding MORE stress and overwhelm to your business. Once you give yourself permission to flip these scripts (it's a practice!), you'll be able you can create something amazing + enjoy the benefits of (mostly) passive income as you get paid for it over and over (and over). How to Get Clear on Your Message [NE 039]
I've been reading some really interesting parenting books lately (will have to do full book reports in other episodes - they're REALLY good). One of my fave takeaways from Magical Parent, Magical Child, for example, is the fact that we are MEANT to learn from the kiddos in our lives. The childlike qualities of curiosity, wonder, playfulness, resilience... they're invaluable. But if we're not SUPER mindful of that, we tend to let those qualities atrophy as we transform into "grownups." The inspiration for this particular ep came from my two-year-old teacher named Deacon. He's recently started speaking in full on paragraphs, you see. Well - pseudo paragraphs. There aren't a ton of clear WORDS in the paragraphs yet, but they're coming. To HIM they're clear. And he's testing the waters to see how we react. He's learning by doing - without fear of sounding silly or nonsensical. By using his voice, he's finding his voice. In this ep, I share how we can do the same. Dear Course Collector [NE 038]
In this ep I encourage you to take an honest look at your digital library --- all the online workshops, courses, programs, books, communities you've got at your fingertips. Make a list, check it twice. Go through each resource and find at least ONE way you've gotten value from it (even and especially if you didn't "complete" the course). Examples - got three new clients. sparked a massive mindset shift. met my biz bff. connected with a fave mentor. There may be some you haven't even opened, and in that case - try to remember and make note of WHY you felt you "needed" it at the time - and what you know to be true about that NOW. Maybe you'll find some resources you FORGOT you had at your fingertips. Maybe you'll find a resource your VA could use to help you move a top priority forward this WEEK. (#maniwin!) Above all, if you've got more courses than you want to publicly admit, my hope is that this exercise will help you 1) free yourself from any shame or guilt around that, 2) empower you with a fresh dose of self awareness, and 3) remind you that you have MORE than enough info to make meaningful progress right now. Time to put it to good use. Come share your ahas in the group! Why I'm Obsessed with Journaling (+ You May Be Too) [NE 037]
In this ep I'm doing my best to peer pressure you into starting (or re-starting) a regular journaling practice because IT'S FREAKING POWERFUL and easy and basically free. Doesn't have to be fancy or formal. Doesn't have to take even 10 minutes a day. Or FIVE. (But seriously, if you're telling yourself you don't have five quiet minutes a day you're either lying or not spending enough time hiding in the bathroom. No judgment. I speak from experience. ha) Need prompts? Write about what you want. What you're thankful for. What you're unsure about. What you're excited about. Write it in PRESENT (or even past) tense, like it's already happening / already happened. Write about your visions for your self - body, spirit, energy. Your relationships - romantic, friendships, motherhood. Your work - your creativity, your money, your definition of success. Your home. Your lifestyle. Your legacy. WRITE. IT. OUT. For bonus points, after you've written it, read it out loud in a voice memo and listen to it any time you need a pick me up (it's like you're verbally hitchhiking to your future). Ask your future self questions. What do I need to know right now? How did we overcome X? What's the next right step for me? NOTE: At this snapshot in time I am REALLY into passing notes back and forth between my future self + my today self. I'm gonna record an audio visualization / meditation so I can arrange the chat *exactly* as I'd like to experience it. If something like that (or more info on journaling) is of interest to you, TAG ME and let me know on FB, Instagram, or by replying to any of my emails. I could use a little peer pressure to finish and put it out there ;) In the meantime - enjoy the ep, and for the love: Give yourself the gift of testing out a journaling practice and see what bubbles up. I think you may surprise yourself. Why Your Voice Matters [NE 036]
If you’re anything like …anybody… who has ever started a blog, written an article, or sent out a smoke signal to an audience of any kind, you’ve probably caught yourself thinking: “It’s already been said. (ALL OF IT.) Why would they want to hear it from me?” It’s so normal. Before starting my business, that “everything’s been said” factor was one of my biggest hang-ups. It almost convinced me to stop writing before I started. Almost. My message for you today isn’t unique, but that’s kinda the point: Even if your message isn’t irresistibly unique, YOU ARE. In this episode, I share three helpful reframes to lean on when you find yourself pressing MUTE on your own voice. The Difference Between You + "Them" [NE 035]
Ever find yourself on the digi-sidelines watching (what feels like) everyone else building their dream lives / businesses, thinking "that couldn't be me"? Yeah - me too. And it sucks. In this episode I'm calling us OUT on that mess so we can jump into the game and have some of our own fun. Because really. The only difference between you / us and "them" is a DECISION. Once upon a time, "they" were at zero. No followers, no fans, no subscribers - no videos, no idea what a livestream was. They didn't know what would happen. Who would say / think what. And they went for it anyway. Baby step, big mama leaps of faith... it all comes back to a decision to go for it. You are totally capable of making that decision. Today's a perfect day for it. (More in the episode.) Do it for YOU. [NE 034]
One of the most valuable writing / speaking tips I can give to those who want to build GENUINE connection online is to write to ONE. Speaking directly to ONE singular reader (or listener, like here in the podcast!) is a simple way to help the *real human* on the other end of the screen / earbud feel instantly connected to you. Here's the kicker: Sometimes (a LOT of times), that one person you're writing for is YOU. In this episode I share how unsubscribing from the pressure to save / inspire the world may actually lead you to the HIGHEST service possible. I'll meet you in the ep with more. Get More Done in Less Time: How to Master the Micro-Hustle [NE 033]
While I'm a huge believer in trusting divine timing / enjoying what IS (see NE 031), we gotta move our feet and take ACTION to help the process along. In this episode I share how using 25-minute sprints has allowed me to refine + redefine the way I work this year, helping to rebuild TRUST that I am totally capable of getting valuable ish done in a reasonable amount of time. If you sometimes feel like you're rolling around in white space and can't seem to FOCUS and see one task / project through to completion, listen in on 1.5x speed and give this technique a try. (Then let me know how it goes!)
