Chloe's experience in the industry has been mostly positive, she believes that there shouldn’t be a label on who can or can’t be in a trade, acknowledging that she herself may not look like a tradie out of high vis but the look of someone doesn’t portray the skills they have - and she is highly skilled at her job. The Tandel sisters who were born in India, went to primary school in the middle east before moving to Australia with their family and ended up following in their dads footsteps to become Civil Engineers. Whilst their stories are intertwined, the sisters have their own unique experiences and opinions about their journey to and experience in the construction industry. We explore Vini’s disappointment when she realized that a future in medicine was not going to happen for her and how she came to be a Civil Engineer instead. For Princi, we discuss what it was like having been used to having her older sister quite literally right beside her all the time and then taking the leap to move cities and really find the confidence to come into her own. "I never knew there would be space for people like myself" - Please welcome our guest Lisa Erlandson, a proud young Arrernte and Kaytetye project services trainee. Lisa is passionate about helping others around her, showing, and letting people know they can achieve anything they put their mind to, she wants people to be inspired and to go hard and take chances. Lisa wants to tell the younger generation that education is the key not just in the western educational system but also cultural education especially for Indigenous people. She wants people who identify as both Indigenous and non Indigenous to educate themselves on the strong, rich and unique culture that dates to 65,000 years ago.
