This is my entry to Evoke 2019's Streaming Music Compo. This year again I competed in the theme compo in the compo with a few friends, this year's theme being "When The Prodigy still made good music". The track hit 2nd place. This song is Bitch's and my entry to Evoke 2018's OGG/MP3 Music Compo, more specifically our internally organized "compo in a compo" in which this year's theme is 70s' porn funk. Obey the schnauzer!

This is my contribution to Sound of SceneSat 4. This soundtrack was planned to dress a demo that, despite all my efforts, never came to be. It depicts nothing more and nothing less than life itself, from being conceived to being born, growing up, falling in love, failing, getting back on your feet, making your dreams come true and, when autumn has passed, fading out before peaceful departure. Accepting that things don’t always turn out the way you had planned them to, with tears of joy, I am now setting this piece free, proud for Ziphoid/SceneSat to have asked me to contribute. This song was part of a compo in a compo. At the Demoscene festival "Evoke" in 2017, there was, as usual, an MP3 Compo (competition) where you could enter any style of music as long as your song is 3:30 minutes max. My fellow Demoscene friends Alkama, Lug00ber and Ronny Pries decided at Evoke 2016 to enter songs with the theme "Theme song to a never-aired 80s TV series". I heard of this and asked to join. We ended up with SIX 80s tracks, and this is my contribution. Special thank-yous to ghost/ATW and jco for feedback on my previews, and tons of help with the sound. Thank you very much!

Lyrics: Sag mal, weißt du eigentlich, warum gestern Stromausfall war? Hast du das mal gegooglet? Wie bitte? Ja, google das mal! Google weiß doch nicht, warum gestern bei mir zu Hause Stromausfall war. Doch bestimmt! Danach suchen viele Leute auf Google! Woher willst du das denn wissen?!? Ich hab nachgeschaut! Du hast was?!? Okay, pass auf, ich erklär’s dir. Wollt nur kurz vorm Schlafengeh’n checken, was in mei’m Google-Kalender für morgen steht. Doch in der Google-Suche denk‘ ich mir dann: „Krass! Ich könnt‘ ja noch mal schauen, was die Welt bewegt.“ Ich begann‘ zu tippen, und das vergess‘ ich nie, leitete ich meine Suche mit „Warum“ ein. Weitere Begriffe kamen in Eigenregie haufenweise fortan automatisch rein. Warum ist die Frage, mit der ich mich jetzt plage. Du stehst kurz vor neu auf, ich steh' kurz vor'm Burnout. Warum macht die Heizung Geräusche? Und warum ist die Weißwurst weiß? Warum ekeln sich Leute vor Mäusen? Und warum macht man Weißabgleich? Warum kann die Hummel fliegen, und warum kann Klitschko Deutsch? Warum bist du nicht so cool wie Siri, und warum weiß man nicht, was man nicht weiß? Warum ist Battlefield One ab sechzehn? Warum fühl‘n sich Männer eingeengt? Warum ist Gähnen so ansteckend, und warum sind Chinesen gelb? Hihi, du machst das auch schon! -- Ja gut, aber das sind doch nur Spinner. -- Das dachte ich auch zuerst. Pass auf: Erst dacht‘ ich mir: „Was’n das für’n Dünnschiss! Muss doch keiner wissen, warum Dinge so war‘n“. Doch ich muss zugeben, auch wenn das nicht mein Wunsch is, dass meine Neugier ständig neue Suchen begann. Warum ist Oktoberfest eigentlich im September? Warum steh‘n Flamingos auf einem Bein? Warum könn‘ sich and’re Menschen nur selbst verändern, und warum gibt’s kein Haltbarkeitsdatum bei Wein? Warum isset am Rhing su schön? Und warum ist Popel grün? Warum heißt Europa Europa, und warum fühl‘n sich Laugen seifig an? Warum war Bier in Island verboten, und warum steh‘n Türken hinter Erdogan? Warum kommen Ostereier von Hasen, und .warum ist X^0 immer 1? Warum heißt es eigentlich „blasen“, und warum weiß ich nie, was du meinst? Versuch’s mal! Hier, einfach Google aufmachen!" -- „Hm, du meinst, ich soll wirklich?“ -- „Jetzt mach schon.“ -- „Mal sehen, hier hab ich schon was.“ Warum hat Trump gewonnen? Warum sind Nazis dumm? Warum sperr’n sie meine Konten, warum ist die Banane krumm? Genau, jetzt hast du’s! Und morgen mach' ich mit den Wie-Fragen weiter.
