Today we discuss the concepts of powerlessness, acceptance, and surrender.  Key featuers in a life of recovery.  They are important in the very beginning of the journey but we carry them with us throughout our lives, one day at a time.  Community is such an important part of recovery and today you will see us help each other navigate these daunting words and ideas. Messages For Our Younger Selves

Today we share messages we would tell our younger selves.  While on this jounrey we have gained some insights into the disease of addiction, the process of recovery, and oursleves. Although we are all believers that we are right where we are supposed to be and that when the student is ready the teacher appears, how nice would it have been to know soe of these things earlier in our lives.  Hopefully we can bring some awareness to others on their own walk home  If you have any topics you would like us to discuss please email us at [email protected].

  3. 7

    An Addict In a Family

This week we discuss what it is like to be part of  family and have the disease of addiction.  What it is like to be a daughter and a mother struggling with this disease and how we navigate recovery within these family roles.

  4. 6

    Connection

It has been said that the opposite of addiction is connection.  We have certainly found that connection has been the key to our recoveries having any chance of being successful.  Connection to ourselves and connection to others.  Both a chance to give and a chance to recieve. One hallmark of addiction is to isolate and alienate but if we reach out to others who understand what we are going through then active recovery is possible.

  5. 5

Sugar Addiction and It's Effects on Our Mental Health

In today's episode we look into the mental health effects that sugar itself and the addiction to sugar has had in our lives.  We have such similar experiences with this realm of sugar addiction and how dark it can get.  Although this is a hard topic it is necessary to talk about.  We are only as sick as our secrets and brining this side of sugar addiction to the light allows a path forward in recovery.

  6. 4

    Recovery Realizations

In today' episode we look back on some Aha moments in our recoveries.  Big realizations and things that made changes in how we proceded forward.  In the end it somes down to being our true, authentic, individual selves with the love and support of community.

  7. 3

    What recovery means to us

In today's episode, we discuss what recovery means to us.  The theme is that recovery takes some work, but the result is worth it, and so are we.  Recovery is a verb and takes some doing.  We can only do that which we are willing.

  8. 2

    Abstinence and Recovery

Abstinence is the ticket into the show but recovery is the actions that make it stick.  Today we will be discussing what abstinence means to us and what recovery adds to the picture.  Community and gratitude come up again as necessary parts of our journies.
