    Episode 65 - Unladylike: Ambition

In this episode, we unpack tall poppy syndrome and why ambitious women are still seen as unlikeable, intimidating, or “unladylike.” Using themes from Off With Her Head by Eleanor Herman, we explore how society punishes women for wanting power, success, visibility, and leadership, while rewarding those same traits in men. From historical examples to modern studies, we examine why culture still cuts down women who refuse to stay small. Episode 63 - When Women Enter The Chat

In this episode we discuss language and labor trends. From terms like emasculate and bachelor to the documented pattern of wages dropping as professions become female-dominated, to the breaking 2026 student loan policy that illustrates sexist patterns in real time. The evidence points to a consistent reality: the value of work often shifts based on who is doing it. Episode 60 - Patriarchy, Parenting & Positive Discipline

Most of us were raised to believe discipline meant obedience, silence, and control. In this episode, we sit down with Megan Campbell, LCPC and host of I Have Shit to Say, to unpack how traditional discipline mirrors patriarchal power systems and what it costs our kids long term. We talk about positive discipline, behavior as communication, connection before correction, and why emotional regulation matters more than compliance. Whether you’re parenting or unpacking your own childhood, this conversation will not disappoint. Episode 59 - Perimenopause & Menopause: Why Are We Still Not Talking About It?

This episode came out of Katie’s recent spiral over realizing perimenopause and menopause are ahead, and how wildly unprepared most women are for it. We get into symptoms, the silence around it, the research gaps, the lack of real medical education, and why so many women often enter this stage of life blindly. Almost everything from cold plunges and diets to GLP-1 drugs, gut microbiomes, and creatine supplementation has been studied primarily on men. In this episode, we break down current trends and how the foundational research often excludes or underrepresents women, and what that means for your health, hormones, and performance. Episode 53: The Bible Vs. Women, Part 2

In this episode, we tackle one of the most weaponized passages in Christian history, 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, the infamous “women should remain silent in the churches” verse. But what if Paul wasn’t commanding silence at all? What if he was quoting and then correcting the Corinthians for trying to muzzle women? We dive into one of the scholarly theories that flips this passage on its head, exploring how context and translation have shaped centuries of gender hierarchy and how theology, power, and patriarchy intersect within the text itself. Episode 52 - The Bible Vs. Women, Part 1

TW: Religious Trauma In this episode we take on one of the most weaponized passages in the New Testament. We look at how 1 Timothy 2:11-14 has been wielded to shut women up, strip them of authority, and justify systems that keep men in charge. We dig into what was actually happening in Ephesus at the time, why “Paul’s words” weren’t written as a universal gag order on women, and how centuries of mistranslation and church politics turned a contextual warning into a tool of control.

  15. 51

Episode 51 - Q&A: You Asked. We Answered.

You asked. We answered. In this listener Q&A, we talk about everything from behind the scenes to practical questions. Some topics include: how to talk to your partner about feminist issues, what to do when your partner doesn’t support your mental load, what’s the most dangerous thing people believe about women’s bodies we wish would just die already, and more.

  16. 50

Episode 50 - When Men Make It About Them: How Centering Hijacks Women’s Stories

A listener shares a raw, deeply personal story of disclosing marital rape and how her partner’s reaction turned the moment into his own emotional drama. In this episode, we break down why men so often center themselves when women share trauma: from protector fantasies and fragile masculinity to the social conditioning that teaches women to soothe male discomfort. We unpack the psychology behind emotional hijacking, the caregiver reflex survivors fall into, and what true support actually sounds like. This episode isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness. About how “I can’t handle this” silences survivors, and how staying present, listening, and believing can literally change lives.

  17. 49

Episode 49 - Haunted History: Alternative Timelines

In this Haunted History episode, we enter a Twilight Zone of alternate timelines asking the big “what ifs” of women’s history. What if the witch hunts hadn’t erased generations of women healers? If authoritarian governments hadn’t cemented control over bodies and voices? What if women’s health had been researched at the same pace of men’s health? It’s a haunting reminder of how much has been lost, stolen, or delayed, and how far ahead we might already be if history had tipped the other way. 18. 48

Episode 48 - Haunted History: Childbirth and Gynecology

In this Haunted History episode, we expose how modern gynecology and obstetrics were built on the suffering of women—especially enslaved Black women experimented on by Marion Sims without anesthesia. We’ll trace how the flat-on-the-back birthing position came not from nature but from patriarchal convenience, how women were denied pain relief for religious reasons, and how procedures like routine episiotomies, the so-called “husband stitch,” and even the chainsaw were justified. 19. 47

Episode 47 - Haunted History: Lobotomies

In this Haunted History episode, we uncover the chilling story of lobotomies and the women who were most often subjected to them. Sold as a miracle cure for everything from depression to defiance, the procedure left thousands of women scarred, silenced, or erased altogether. Behind the surgical theater curtain was a system that punished women for being “too much”—too emotional, too sexual, too ambitious. From housewives and daughters institutionalized against their will to famous cases like Rosemary Kennedy, lobotomies became a tool of control disguised as medicine. We’ll explore how this brutal chapter still haunts women’s healthcare today, where dismissal and overreach often go hand in hand. 20. 46

Episode 46 - Haunted History: Hysteria

In this Haunted History episode, we dig into Hysteria. The infamous diagnosis that turned women’s emotions, sexuality, and pain into a medical horror story. From ancient Greece’s myth of the “wandering womb” to the locked wards of 19th-century asylums, hysteria was never about healing women. It was about controlling them, silencing them, and punishing anyone who refused to conform. We also ask the unsettling question: has hysteria really disappeared, or is it still haunting us today under new names and modern disguises? Episode 40 - Midwives, Witches & Nazis

In this episode we uncover how midwives and herbalists (once trusted healers) were branded as witches in a campaign to strip women of power, land, and medical authority. We trace that legacy from witch trials to Nazi-era rollbacks of women’s rights to the ongoing failure to ratify the ERA in the U.S. The question remains: Who feels threatened when women have control over themselves?
