Debunked! Busting common heat pump myths, with David Leighton | Positive Energy Podcast
Welcome to 'Positive Energy - powered by The Eco Experts'. We invite experts to help you make informed decisions about investing in green technology for your home. For episode 15 of The Positive Energy podcast, we’re proud to welcome David Leighton, national heating sales manager, LG Solutions, to dispel common heat pump myths, as well as the savings homeowners can make by installing heat pumps and other low-carbon technologies. “If we took a boiler that’s just been installed, they’re roughly 90% efficient, which means that for every £1 of energy you’re buying, you’re actually getting 90p worth of energy,” he said. “With our heat pump, for example, for every £1 you put in, you’re getting £4 worth of energy back.” In this episode, Leighton and our host, Sam Pamphilon, explore what a heat pump is, and how every household uses one, commenting that heat pumps extract energy from the outside air, even at temperatures, as low as -18°C or -20°C, and uses a refrigerant and compressor to heat water for the home.We provide tips and insights on saving energy and reducing your energy bills! Learn how to make the most of green technology and discover how these energy-saving solutions can lower costs and improve your home's comfort, all while being environmentally friendly.Since 2009, The Eco Experts has helped 1,000s of homeowners save on energy bills and switch to a more sustainable lifestyle by offering practical advice on green technology.
