In recent years, street protests have increased in frequency around the globe. Social media has given rise to grassroots, leaderless movements from Lebanon to Chile, the United States, Russia, and beyond. In this podcast series, Jake Leischner and Genevieve Collins explore three protests -- the Yellow Vests in France, Algeria's Hirak Movement, and Hong Kong's pro-democracy protests -- with scholars and reporters to try to better understand this phenomenon.
