The Eternal Journey (Verse 13): Just as the embodied self experiences the GitaFlow of childhood, youth, and old age within a single lifetime, it naturally transitions into a new body after death. The sources emphasize that the real self is like water, while our bodies and lives are merely temporary wave-forms that arise and subside in the ocean of existence.Forbearing the Transient (Verse 14): Our contact with the world through the senses inevitably generates a GitaFlow of heat and cold, or pleasure and pain. Because these experiences are transient—coming and going—the instruction is to practice titiksha, or spiritual forbearance. This means putting up with the unpleasant sides of life without anxiety or complaint, recognizing their temporary nature. The Path to Immortality (Verse 15): The person who is not troubled by these dualities and remains serene in both misery and happiness is considered a dhira—a wise person capable of deploying spiritual knowledge in daily life. Such a person is deemed fit for immortality.
