    Complex Medical Help | December 2024

    Host Dan Suffoletto, Public Information Manager, talks with Helene Hill, Nurse Supervisor of the Complex Medical Help (CMH) program.CMH links families of children under the age of 25 with special healthcare needs to a network of quality providers and helps families obtain payments for services their child needs. Major components of the program include: conducting quality assurance activities to establish standards of care; determine unmet needs of individuals with special health care needs and their families; funding services for the diagnosis and treatment of medically eligible conditions; collaborating with public health nurses and local health departments to assist in increasing access to care; supporting service coordination for individuals with selected diagnoses; and assisting individuals and their families to access and utilize appropriate sources of payment for services. Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County937-225-5700

    Total Solar Eclipse 2024

    Dayton and surrounding areas will experience an extremely rare event, a total solar eclipse that will cross North America on April 8, 2024. The total eclipse in Dayton will begin at 3:08 pm and last 2 minutes and 42 seconds; other parts of the state could last up to 4 minutes.     Minority Health Month 2023

     Minority Health Month (MHM) is a 30-day health and wellness campaign that was instituted by the Ohio Commission on Minority Health (OCMH) and is now celebrated nationally. This year, the Greater Dayton MHM theme is Better Health Through Better Understanding. This year’s theme focuses on improving health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority and AI/AN communities by providing them with culturally and linguistically competent healthcare services, information, and resources. When patients are provided with culturally and linguistically appropriate information, they are empowered to create healthier outcomes for themselves and their communities.
