The Film Festival Episode
It's time for the 25th Annual Winnipeg International Jewish Film Festival. This year, the community will come together in the cinema to celebrate Jewish stories from around the world. Comedy, Drama, Documentary, and more. The festival runs from May 6 - 23, 2026.This episode, Chris sits down with festival producer Karen Burshtein to discuss this unique celebration of Jewish voices, her experience with the festival, and what to look forward to this year. Music 'N' Mavens 'N' More!
It's the 10th Episode of the RadyCAST!On our final episode of 2025, Karla Berbrayer returns to the show. Karla is the producer, and founder, of the "Music 'N' Mavens" program. This afternoon series of concerts and guest speakers has been delighting folks at the Rady for over 25 years, and the 2026 season promises to be one of the best yet.Karla and Chris talk about what's in store, and give you a sneak preview of the opening acts of Music 'N' Mavens 2026 - including the all new evening, "After Dark" concerts.Then, Sarah and Katya drop by from our Aquatics department to help us take the plunge into the swimming and aquatic fitness options at the Rady. In today's programming segment, Dan Waldman is in studio to talk about the newest drop-in program at the Rady, "Men's Shed." Dan talks about the need for programs that address the need for connection among older men and the way this program has become a global phenomenon from its origins in Australia. RadyCAST Hanukkah Special
Hanukkah is right around the corner, and at the Rady JCC, the celebration is already starting. On this episode, Chris invites Tomer, Natali, and Karolina from the Programming department to talk about what's in store for Hanukkah in and around the Rady JCC.Then, we take a few minutes, and talk about our Hanukkah memories, from Chris' blended family holidays, to Natali and Tomer's recollections of the holiday in Israel, and Karolina telling us about Hanukkah traditions in Poland. Later, while taking a brisk walk (necessary from just THINKING about latkes ...) Chris connects with Lindsey for Fitness Corner and we find out about Winter fitness coming up at the Rady, as well as Lindsey's very own Hanukkah challenge for her fellow staff, making sure everybody remembers to get up, get moving, and celebrate the holidays with new healthy habits. JFest WPG Sneak Preview!
It's hard to believe we're already halfway through October! That also means that we're just 3 weeks away from the start of JFest WPG! This festival of Jewish culture runs from November 1 - 9, starting with a concert at Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre by Israeli superstar Keren Peles!On this episode of the RadyCAST, Chris speaks with Karla Berbrayer, musical producer for JFest WPG, who gives us some insight into the three incredible concerts on offer this year. Later, you'll get some insider details about the visual arts extravaganza that kicks off JFest WPG at the Rady on November 2. All That Jazz
“Jazz is music at the speed of conversation,” says Charlene Diehl, Producer of the Izzy Asper Jazz Performance series. Improvisation is at the heart of jazz, which meansthat no two performances, even of the same songs, are the same way twice.The Jazz series at the Rady JCC’s Berney Theatre begins on Saturday, October 5th, which is the upcoming weekend when this episode of the podcast airs.
