Recognizing RHS

Today’s episode we’re going behind the curtain of this year’s musical, Between The Lines. This episode is especially important to us because we are involved in the show. Ava is the stage manager and Lauren is the sound tech head. Putting on a musical takes months of hard work, creativity, and collaboration from the entire cast and crew, and today we’re getting an inside look at how it all comes together. We’ll be talking with the director of the production to learn more about the vision for the show and the process of bringing it to life, backstage crew to learn what goes on behind the scenes during the show, and a few cast members to learn about moments from the show and rehearsals. From rehearsals to opening night, we’ll hear about the challenges, the memorable moments, and the dedication that goes into creating a performance like this.

In this episode, Lauren and Ava highlight Mrs. Cavell’s recognition as VFW Ohio Teacher of the Year by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and talk about what that honor means for our school community. Dr. Rateno has been in the education field for 20+ years and shared great insight on the Riverside community. In this episode, Lily and Ryan talked with Mrs. Poje, one of Riversides amazing teachers, about her various roles not only in the Riverside community, but for the state of Ohio. She walks us through many different processes and how projects become successful. Mrs. Poje is an amazing example of great leadership and it really shows based on how students respond around her.  In this episode, Ryan and Lily sit down with Mr. Freeman, a great educator with years of experience not only in the classroom, but as a student himself. They highlight on the balance Mr. Freeman has to manage while being a teacher, student, and also being involved with the Riverside community. Tune in to learn more about balance and time management from one of Riverside's most beloved teachers.

Join Seniors Lily & Ryan as they examine the layers of leadership within Riverside Local Schools. Members of RHS's SIDE Leadership Class, they both have a strong interest on showcasing what makes Riverside excellent. SIDE Leadership is a year long class composed of 66 juniors and seniors who work together to guide various events and groups on campus and off.  For their first episode, Lily & Ryan feature SIDE's SIDEkicks program. An interview with Riverside Academic Coach Richard Schmidt follows an overview of the program and commentary by kindergarten teachers within the program.
