Reflection on Digital Literacy and Its Educational Implications
Engaging deeply with the module's content has broadened my outlook on digital literacies, especially in education. Throughout my learning, I have had to consider the ethical and broader implications of digital technologies for educators, learners and the schoolwide community. My knowledge and understanding of digital literacies go far beyond the basic technical skills; I have been exposed to a critical awareness of how technology shapes knowledge, behaviour, and social dynamics. How privacy risks, biases in algorithms, and misinformation and errors have affected people's relationships with digital technologies. On this episode, I discuss how my learning has evolved and made me more conscious that digital literacy is not just about using tools effectively but also about cultivating responsible, ethical, and reflective digital practices. It requires ongoing critical thinking about digital content and technologies' sources, purposes, and impacts.
