Resting Brunch Face
by Resting Brunch Face
A show for everyone who wishes they had an on-demand brunch crew. Wide-ranging conversations, often prompted by movies or media. We recommend starting with our three-minute "Episode Zero" to get the gist (https://open.spotify.com/episode/2gsnLbkFv9dDc), then go with the most recent episode or whatever looks interesting. There should be very little lore or continuity to keep up with if you jump around. If you're having a good time with us, then leave a comment, review the show, and tell your friends! Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (2008)
May the 4th (this episode’s release date) be with you! In theme with Resting Brunch Face’s historical holiday observance patterns, here on Star Wars day we bring you, definitely not a Star Wars episode. On a podcast where we regularly revisit old favorites, Dr. Horrible offers us our greatest challenge yet. Does it hold up? Was the script ever self-aware of its own antihero? Is it an allegory for extremist politics? Do we remember all of the lyrics either way? Only one way to find out: put in those 'buds and listen.Eagle-eared fans (rabbit-eared?) will catch such highlights as Adam mispronouncing "Felicia Day" and never correcting himself, a deep-cut reference to the Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along, and Resting Brunch Face's first *post-credits* scene. Enjoy, and let us know what you think! Email us at [email protected] with any thoughts or inquiries. Please like, follow, comment, and review the show, and share with your friends!

(Bonus) Liz's Last Unicorn Synopsis
In this (very) short bonus episode, hear Liz's 3-minute primer on the plot and themes of The Last Unicorn, recorded shortly before we all watched the movie for the episode. This episode is strictly optional, but is recommended if your reaction to the full episode is "I don't know that movie, so I won't be able to follow along."

The Last Unicorn (1982)
We complete our tour of formative childhood movies for the crew by visiting Liz's all-timer, The Last Unicorn, a lesser-known but terribly interesting animated film released in 1982. (To pre-empt one question we've already received: this is not to be confused with the film "Death of a Unicorn" from 2025...very different movie! In this one, the unicorn doesn't die, and that's kind of the whole point. Themes of immortality, and so on.)Listen in, and we guarantee the nimblest of possible transitions between contemplating the pain and depths of mortal existence and discussing whether a certain flesh-colored living tree is meant to be trapping a man between a pair of breasts or a pair of balls. This is the least-known film we've covered on the show to date, but we're glad to embrace variety. We do cover key details to help you follow along, and we hope it's still a good hang. Please like, follow, comment, and review the show, and share with your friends! (Bonus) March Mailbag + Twilight: New Moon
It's just like they always say: March comes in like a vampire and out like a werewolf. We were just bursting with extra content, needing to cover reactions and comments to two episodes (Jurassic Park and Heated Rivalry), plus, hey, we watched New Moon and we have some thoughts. So, here's our second bonus episode! Come for the stories behind our first PG-13 and R-rated movies, stay for the chill hangout vibes, the Canonical List of Timelessly Attractive and Non-Problematic Men, and Kirkland Signature Bulk Jorts. If you listen carefully, you'll also catch a hint of a "vampires suck" joke from Adam completely flop, to no reaction whatsoever from the other hosts, as if it never happened. Please like, follow, comment, and review the show, and share with your friends! And also Bella's hair, did we mention the hair? Please like, follow, comment, and review the show, and share with your friends! Email us at [email protected] with any thoughts or inquiries.

(Bonus) Heated Rivalry
In honor of the Winter Olympics *and* Valentine's Day 2026, join the crew for a very special episode, about a certain HBO Max hockey show that is rather more about true love than it is about hockey. If you have not heard of this show before...then we are SO glad to be the ones to tell you about it. The panel is laser-focused on one question: "Why is Heated Rivalry so good?" Tune in for many answers, all of which are guaranteed 100% correct. Please like, follow, comment, and review the show, and share with your friends! Tell us why YOU think Heated Rivalry is so good! Email us at [email protected] with any thoughts or inquiries.

Jurassic Park (1993)
Adam, Liz, and Maggie discuss the classic Steven Spielberg film about an overfunded theme park venture that faces operational collapse due to poor IT staffing choices. Oh, and dinosaurs!Featuring meditations on the film's most quotable lines, relitigation of how attractive 90s-era Jeff Golblum is, and Maggie's audition to voice the velociraptor in the next sequel. We've also edited in our first "mailbag" segment, bringing in reactions to the podcast as a whole and to last month's Episode 1.Please like, follow, comment, and review the show, and share with your friends! The Little Mermaid (1989)
Adam, Liz, and Maggie kick off the show with a rewatch of a very formative film for many: Disney's The Little Mermaid (1989). Learn why Ursula truly is the best Disney villain, get our canonical read on the backstory in King Triton's court, and hear why we would or would not want to be stuck on a submersible trip with Ariel.
