The Ancient Freak Called Socrates (Part Two)
How These Wise Guys Built Our Minds - Part TwoI don’t actually believe in calling people freaks... unless it’s in a fun, "freaky-deaky" typa-way. But then there is the legendary "stooge" Socrates. We’re taught he died for free speech, but the reality is he was executed for treason. Why? Because his students kept conducting violent military coups against Athenian democracy. If you want to know why our modern world feels so powerless and cynical, you have to look at the "code" written by this original sauce-boy and his two students, Plato and Aristotle. The Cognitive VirusThe global elite have built a matrix in our minds using these three dudes as the founding "Pokémon" of philosophy. They taught us that "reason" is supreme and emotions are weak. But as modern neuroscience proves, without emotion, reason is trash. We are still living in a three-tiered system designed 2,400 years ago: the 1% who rule, the bureaucracy that helps them, and the 99% who are told they are too stupid to matter. In This Episode:The Socratic Coups: I help you follow the trail of the students. Socrates’ star pupil, Alcibiades, defected to Sparta and told them how to seize the Athenian silver mines. His other pupil, Critias, led the "Thirty Tyrants" who murdered 5% of the population. Socrates didn't flee with the pro-democracy exiles; he stayed behind to coach the killers. The "Thinkery" Exposed: This is the best thing ever. Please read this play until they get to the point where our founder gets pooped on by a lizard. The Clouds by Aristophanes. In it, the ancient Greeks didn't revere Socrates; they laughed at him. He was portrayed as the head of a "Thinkery" - a school where bums went to learn how to turn weak, inferior arguments into winning ones just to dodge their gambling debts. The 900-Million-Year Timeline: How come do we think world peace is "naive" while believing in aliens is "rational"? There is a real answer to how these cognitive viruses got started. Socrates and his "Stooges" uninstalled our belief in ourselves. If we stop being "bots" following their 2,400-year-old script, we realize that human dignity is the only real path forward. This episode helps dismantle the Socratic myth to show that you aren't "stupid" - we've all just been programmed to cede our power to a set of families who have been playing a game of "Risk" for centuries.---If you want to go deep down the rabbit hole of Socrates and why what he was up to with poetry, you can go here: https://www.nytimes.com/1979/04/08/archives/if-stone-breaks-the-socrates-story-an-old-muckraker-sheds-fresh.htmlThis source was also used during the podcast: https://youtu.be/te-s7e1XAvk?si=kj1Xkloc63QIaXop - it was used under fair use, and all credit goes to the creator. I highly encourage you to watch it and ask yourself why the words 'Sparta' or 'The 30', 'The Clouds' or 'Alcibiades' were not said out loud at any point. Once again, our only primary source of anyone who knew Socrates in his 40's is this play. Please read it until he gets pooped on by the lizard. https://johnstoniatexts.x10host.com/aristophanes/cloudshtml.html---Connect with MattWebsite: matthopecoaching.comYouTube: @matthopecoachingInstagram: @matthopecoachingFacebook: matthopecoaching

The Recent Greeks & Socrates (Part One)
How These Wise Guys Built Our Minds - Part OneThe "Ancient Greeks" have one of the best brands in history. They are also, in my opinion, a bunch of weird freaks. We’re taught they invented civilization, but we aren't taught that the Parthenon, like that ultimate symbol of democracy... was actually a high-security bank used by Athenians to store their pirate loot and silver mined by branded slaves. The Cognitive VirusWe call them "Ancient" to put them on a pedestal, but in the timeline of the universe, they are Recent. By splitting history into "Ancient" and "Modern," the education system makes you stop asking questions once you hit Socrates. We are still living in the "software" these guys wrote 2,400 years ago, a blueprint designed by elites to keep the 99% docile and thinking that "reason" is more important than empathy. In This Episode:The Bronze Age Apocalypse: I help you dismantle the idea of "linear progress." The shift from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age wasn't an upgrade; it was a regression. The "Recent" Greeks were essentially illiterate hillbillies living in the ruins of a much more sophisticated, globalized Bronze Age civilization that they didn't even know how to read. The Silver Mine Navy: I love to follow the money. Athens didn't build its "Golden Age" on philosophy; they built it on a sudden discovery of silver. Instead of giving that wealth to the people, they built a 200-ship navy to conduct state-sponsored piracy, burning neutral cities like Melos to the ground when they refused to join the "syndicate."The 10% "Democracy": We strip away all the wordplay and branding. Athenian democracy excluded women, foreigners, and slaves. At max, only 10% of the population could vote. It wasn't a government "by the people"; it was a meritocracy of speech for rich dudes who had enough slaves to do their work so they could sit around and have circular arguments all day.And I'll show you eventually how Aristotle and Plato wanted it that way. Today, we spray the "antivirus" of truth on the Greco-Roman-British values that still disenfranchise women and people of color today. Once you realise the "Founding Fathers" of Western thought were life coaches for dictators, the broken world we’re in starts making a lot more sense.History is not what you were taught. ---The play I read from can be found here: https://johnstoniatexts.x10host.com/aristophanes/cloudshtml.html - as an artist, I'm using it under the free use that the author specifies. I highly encourage you to read it until the part where Socrates gets pooped on by a lizard. --Connect with MattWebsite: matthopecoaching.comYouTube: @matthopecoachingInstagram: @matthopecoachingFacebook: matthopecoaching

Why Living on Another Planet is Stupid
How Sci-Fi Stories Tell Lies (Part Four) It’s hard to fathom how many supposedly smart nerds have convinced themselves that humanity will ever live on another planet. We’re all clear that Mars has no magnetic shield, right? Which means you’re essentially trading Earth for an underground, COVID-like lockdown for the rest of your life. Who wants that? And why is a future of irradiated caves something you can raise billions for as an entrepreneur, while having an adult conversation about world peace diminishes you to a "hippy"? The Cognitive Virus To understand our obsession with space is to understand the "Sci-Fi-Copium" that keeps us from fixing Earth. The average naive Boomer thinks NASA was founded for "human exploration." The reality is much darker. If you want to know the true purpose of NASA, ask yourself one question: Why are so many buildings on NASA campuses informally named after Nazis? In This Episode:The "Paperclip" Receipts: I'll take you wayyy beyond the history books. We look at the photos of Wernher von Braun, the man we couldn't have gotten to the moon without, shaking hands with President Kennedy, then we scroll back to him with Hitler and the leader of the SS. NASA wasn't a quest for knowledge; it was a safe haven for the architects of the V2 rocket to continue building tools of war.The Million-Dollar-a-Second Road Trip: I'll run the math with you on the Apollo missions. We spent $300 billion in today’s dollars to put 12 Western men on the moon for a total of a few days. That works out to roughly $1 million per second. Was it for "science," or was it a global branding exercise to distract us from the fact that we were building Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) to drop nukes on each other? The Mars Reality Check: We dismantle this delusion. Living on Mars means $$$ thousands for a single pizza delivery, no DoTA with Earth (the lag is chronic), and a 66% weight loss that comes with a side of terminal cancer from cosmic radiation. We look at the failed Biosphere 2 experiment on Earth to prove that if we can’t sustain a bubble here, we aren't doing it on a dead rock millions of miles away.Biosphere link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh4O04BpovwGoing into "The Stars" is a distraction. The real battle, focus, and future isn't in another galaxy... It’s here, on this planet, in the next 900 million years of life we are currently risking. Stop being a "Sci-Fi Bot" repeating scripts about multi-planet civilizations. It’s time to sign the World Peace Treaty and protect the only home we actually have.___This video uses a clip from this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zcU85O82XE - used under fair use copyright. The Simulation Lullaby - Why You Aren't Uploading to the Cloud
Series: How Sci-Fi Stories Tell Lies (Part Three)Severance—produced and directed by Ben Stiller—is one of the most popular shows of the day, hailed for its "innovative" plot. It features a modern twist on the Simulation Hypothesis: the mathematical idea that we are living in a computer or could one day upload our souls onto the cloud, Matrix-style. But let's look at the hardware. Computers are made of rock, oil, sand, and lightning. That's it. Just rearranged rock and sand. Where exactly in that rock is your soul going to live? The Cognitive VirusThe idea of a "Brain Upload" is a fantasy—a lullaby for tech nerds so they don’t ask why the Nobel Prize was founded by the same family that invented the oil tanker and profited from navy mines. This story traces back to Aristotle and Descartes: the drive to divorce the "mind" from the "body" so we stop feeling the reality of the world we’re actually in.In This Episode:The "Derek" Problem: We imagine a guy called Derek at a tech firm pressing "Enter" to create a being. Where in the physical chip does the consciousness snap into existence? If software is just hardware moving, where is the "soul" in the mixture of plankton, metal, and sand? The War Tool: I remind us both that the supercomputer wasn't built for "The Cloud"—it was commissioned by the military to simulate thermonuclear explosions and ballistics. Why are we trying to move our souls into a machine designed for mass murder?"I Think, Therefore I Am" is Trash: We dismantle Descartes' greatest error. If you think, but don't eat, poop, or feel, you cease to "be" very quickly. We explore how modern neuroscience has ganked this 400-year-old logic to show that you cannot make effective decisions without the emotions the elites want you to suppress... so why are we still so attached to reason?Sci-Fi is the modern-day Noble Lie. It is designed to make you believe this world isn't the endgame; we can just find another in space or upload ourselves away from this one. Stop waiting for a digital miracle. Take your awareness out of the "Thinkeries" and put it back into your body. The episode contains a clip from the YouTube channel JRE Clips. You can find the clip here; all credit to the owner. How AI Tricks Us Into Becoming A Bot - Why Your Computer is a Tool of War
Series: How Sci-Fi Stories Tell Lies (Part Two)Our world is saturated with a fantasy: the idea that we can type a being into existence. If you’re an "AI entrepreneur," you can get funding in a heartbeat, build a trillion-dollar unicorn, and watch every government on Earth scramble to build data centers for your business. But what if it’s all a trick? What if all that money is actually serving another purpose? The Cognitive VirusI’m not saying the fancy "autocompletes" we call AI aren't helpful tools. I am saying AI isn't awake; it's a Probability Engine running on a tool designed by war. The global elite use AI to trick us into believing that a silicon chip will solve the world’s problems more effectively than empathy, love, or respect. This is the Socratic/Three Stooges Trap: elevating the mechanical "reason" of big business while burying the sovereignty of the human heart. In This Episode:The Original "Computer: Did you know "Computer" used to be a job title, like doctor or accountant? We look at the thousands of human beings, mostly women, in WWII, whose job was to manually calculate Artillery Firing Tables. The mechanical computer wasn't invented to "save the world"; it was built because humans were a bottleneck in the production of more efficient killing. The Womb vs. The Brain: Modern nerds claim the brain is "the most complicated object in the universe" to justify their AI fantasies. I’ll dismantle that in 30 seconds. The womb grew the brain. The womb grew the heart, the lungs, and the nerves. You don't have intelligence in AI, you just have a very expensive calculator. The 900-Million-Year Timeline: Why is there no conversation in politics about our billion-year future? Because big business wants you focused on a 90-second doomsday clock. They want you addicted to the FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) so you never ask why we haven't signed the World Peace Treaty.Today, we pull back the curtain on the "Thinkeries" (Universities) and their junk jargon. Learn to see the Auto-net for what it is: a collection of human communication recycled by a machine to serve the 1% of the 1%. Stop being a "bot" following a script written by people who worked for dictators. It’s time to take responsibility for the inner skepticism we all have about the world changing and start the wave.___Connect with MattWebsite: https://matthopecoaching.comYouTube: https://youtube.com/matthopecoachingIG: https://instagram.com/matthopecoachingFB: https://facebook.com/matthopecoaching

Why Believing in Aliens Means You’re a Bad Scientist
How Sci-Fi Stories Tell Lies (Part One)Billions of hours, dollars, and streams... our culture is utterly addicted to Sci-Fi. We’re obsessed with escaping to other planets, uploading our brains to the matrix, or getting into an eternal war with the Martians. These stories seem innocent until it's pointed out to you that Dune - a masterpiece that won six Academy Awards - is entirely a plot about mining. You know what else is mined? Oil.The Cognitive Trojan HorseMost people have never had the true purpose of Sci-Fi explained to them. These stories follow a pattern laid down by Aristotle: noble characters, suppressed emotions, and a reliance on "escaping" reality. It is the greatest cognitive virus big business ever created—a Trojan Horse designed to make you feel powerless while they set the world on fire.In This Episode:The Isaac Newton Cautionary Tale: We look at the GOAT himself. The greatest mind in history was obsessed with turning lead into gold and hanging puking toads in his chimney to cure a cold. If the father of modern science could be blinded by "woo-woo" fables, why do you think modern PhDs are any different? The NASA/Nazi Connection: We ask the questions your history teacher skipped. Why are so many streets on NASA property named after Nazis? And why is "Rocket Science" put on a pedestal when it’s really just Artillery Science rebranded? The 900-Million-Year Timeline: We dismantle the "Aliens" distractor to reveal the future big business doesn't want you to see. If we take aliens off the table and sign a World Peace Treaty, humanity has a 900-million-year runway to live and love on this planet. Why are we talking about a 90-second "Doomsday" clock when we should be protecting a billion-year legacy? If an idea can’t be tested, it’s not science... It’s a bedtime story for people who don't want to face the reality of Earth. Stop chasing the Teletubbies in outer space. It’s time to start the wave here on the ground.Copyright Disclaimer: This podcast features a clip from 92y Street by a channel that was deleted, but the original speech is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbG7T6dXYBU. How The World Broke And What To Do About It
Hello and welcome. This show is the culmination of my life’s work in answering two questions: Why did the world break? and What can I do about it? If you are struggling to find your footing in a fractured world, I created this for you. This isn’t a dress rehearsal; we are in an emergency situation, and there are no "Power Rangers" coming to save us. We have to do this ourselves. The Cognitive VirusA decade ago, I walked away from medical school. I realised the global elite have no interest in peace. While I was training to be a neurosurgeon, I saw that if Big Business kept accelerating, there would eventually be no hospitals left to work in. Consider the history we aren’t taught:The Unfinished War: No formal peace treaty was ever signed to end WWII.The Nobel Irony: The family behind the Nobel Peace Prize invented the oil tanker and a naval mine. The Stanford Fraud: Stanford’s founder was a legendary tax fraudster. We are trapped in a philosophical system handed down by three "stooges" - Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates designed to make change feel impossible. They taught us that society must be split into three tiers: the 1% who rule, the bureaucracy that helps them, and the 99% who are told they are powerless. In This Episode:The Overton Window: We explore why some ideas feel "weird," and others feel "normal." Big Business uses this window to uninstall your willpower and replace it with FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt). The Mental Immune System: Learn how to recognise the "Malware" of Big Business— like how the stories of Star Wars and Harry Potter that dominate our consciousness are really designed to keep us from asking why we haven't signed a World Peace Treaty. The 900-Million-Year Responsibility: If we take "Aliens" and "AI" off the table, we realise we are cosmically responsible for the next billion years of life on Earth. Why is world peace considered "woo-woo" while living in a simulation is considered "rational"?Today, we start the work of training your mental antivirus. We split business into two categories: the essential (food, healing, shelter) and the toxic (fast fashion, advertising, and big oil). We begin the journey of plugging the gap of worthlessness that Big Business exploits.Love is the ultimate solution to Earth’s pollution. Let’s get the wave started._____Connect with MattWebsite: https://matthopecoaching.comYouTube: https://youtube.com/matthopecoachingIG: https://instagram.com/matthopecoachingFB: https://facebook.com/matthopecoaching
