In the U.S., problems in education involving access, initiative, motivation, are tied down to social problems like economic inequalities and gender inequality which significantly impact how education is seen and addressed. It is a topic that merits conversation,and more importantly, one that needs solution, as far we can provide at the school level. Today, we have the privilege of featuring Dr. Jeremy Teitelbaum, a professor at the University of Connecticut in the Department of Mathematics. He discusses his thoughts on the impact of income inequality on education and some pros and cons of online learning. He also shares his thoughts and observations on people's attitude towards math, as well as the biggest lessons he has learned in this long career.
