She is a writer, on-air travel expert, lifestyle creator, and proud self-described “Carivangelist.”She is also the founder of JetSetSarah.com, where her passions for travel, style, and fitness come together in a vibrant and inspiring way.In this delightful conversation we talk about Sarah's journey from the moment she got the travel bug at 3 1/2 years old, to her career, life as a travel writer, the places she has been and how she is curating a well lived beautiful life.  Sarah spoke about her Caribbean roots; she was born in England, has roots in Barbados and lived between Jamaica and England; she now resides in the US in Florida.Having studied Hotel Management, her first job (internship) in Tourism was in Jamaica at the Hedonism Resort. Where she ended up in the PR and Events department.  Her career then transitioned to being a writer and Editor in Magazines like Caribbean Travel & Life. After the closure of the magazine she became a Freelancer writer. We spoke about her life and how working in the space shaped her personality, world view and personal style. The immersion in Caribbean culture as a people has given her the space and wings to express herself. She spoke about her passion for the Caribbean and her mission as a "Carivangelist"  which is to show people the diversity of the region and it's culture, history, beauty and charm. Sarah wants people to explore the islands and not just stay in the resorts or hotels; to go beyond the gates.When asked about some of the most memorable places she visited,  Sarah said Dakar Senegal, Cape Verde, the Safari in Kenya, Antarctica and Tokyo in Japan. We spoke about the places in the Caribbean people "must experience" the power of brand Jamaica, the euphoria of Trinidad & Tobago's Carnival and some of the other islands. Sarah said that the Caribbean is  "The world's favorite warm weather destination" Sarah shared some tips on travelling; like flying in the week versus weekend if possible, she said go opposite to the crowd. Book tickets and hotels early, join affinity and loyalty clubs to get discounts and perks. She shared about some travel essentials that you must take with you when travelling. Also one luxury if you can treat yourself with when travelling is access to the Airport Lounges.  Sarah spoke about her journey and intentional move towards living more healthy and about the healing power of nature. Also about the shift to "Wellness Travel" like sleep retreats, wellness resorts and locations, event silent and reading retreats. Plus more. Body and Soul experiences is the new norm. What does a personal day look like for Sarah? It is rising early by using the Magic Hour App (sunrise and sunset hours) where she exercises as the sun rises. She meets her friends, shops and visits museums and galleries. Her beautiful well lived life looks like travelling, having a partner or cat, exploring new things and movement. Sarah said she is happy and grateful for this season in her life. She ends by saying "Travel Well".

    Living Abroad A Migration Story W/Astrid Morillo

My guest today is Astrid Morillo Pulchan, a Venezuelan educator, media host, and advocate who has transformed her journey of migration into a powerful mission of empowerment.She has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Physics Education (with honors) from the Rafael Maria Baralt University, Zulia in Venezuela and a Master degree in University education (1st semester approved).In this conversation, we explore Astrid’s courageous journey; from her life in Venezuela to rebuilding in Trinidad and Tobago, the challenges of migration, and her ongoing mission to uplift and empower others to thrive far from home.Astrid talks about working in PDVSA (Petroles de Venezuela (Petroleum Company) which was her dream with lots of perks. She was happy, building her career, living a middle class lifestyle and thriving. During that period she was able to travel back and forth to T&T learning English and exploring life. After her father passed away, her life and financial situation changed because he was the main breadwinner of the family who was working with Petrocaribe. To survive she pushed herself to focus on her studies and became a top student scoring the highest in her subjects. She obtained a Scholarship to attend the University and worked and study for five years to get her degree. She graduated with honors. Astrid spoke about the climate and the deterioration of things happening on the island of Venezuela, which made her family decide to move to T&T.  She spoke about the immigration process and not being able to enter the Country at first, they were deported. However the second time around they were prepared and was successful.  We spoke about how Astrid had to settle into life in Trinidad. For the first few years, she worked a bit but was feeling unfulfilled, because she was a career woman, with a full active life.  She then spoke about the trigger which made her decide to take back her life. So she started entering pageants, modeling and attended events to integrate into life in T&T. Which gave her back her spark and her confidence. We spoke about her TV Show La Voz Latina and the intent to showcase her Venezuela's people. To showcase their talents, giftings and ability; to show another perspective and change the narrative of immigrants and foreigners in the island.  We spoke about the view of immigrants not just in the Caribbean but around the world. Astrid said not everyone should be viewed in the same light as what is portrayed in some new cycles.  We chat about Astrid's journey from Venezuela to Trinidad and what she is most proud of. Which is translating free courses from English to Spanish for Venezuela's to learn and improve themselves, to find work. Astrid's advice for persons who want to migrate and live abroad is first to research, get the knowledge get the information. Try to integrate into society, build the right connections, start a group if you can, network and make friends. Put yourself out there. We spoke about the power of networking and how it can open connections and opportunities for development and growth. Her advice to foreigners is "follow your dreams, don't stop, follow your goals, do what you love". She said to find your light and trust in God, because your help comes form above, All that you want to achieve you can achieve, through discipline perseverance and being consistent.

She is the Founder of Zahr Wellness. She has a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, Health and the Environment from Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies, and training as a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. In this insightful conversation we chat about Shalizahr's work in Healthy and Safety and her passion for working with people as a Body Soul Therapist. Shalizahr spoke about her personal spiritual journey and her exposure to various religions, where she came to the realization that at the core people want love, community and to be accepted.  Her belief is in Christ consciousness and her role is to bring heavens intelligence into practical embodied living. This is what led her to start her practice incorporating all these elements of her life experiences and training. We talk about being spiritual and connected to a higher power and source.  The balance or imbalance of being guided by the human nature instead of the spirit, because we are beings first. This imbalance causes a whole host of troubles for us. Shalizahr spoke about the connection of the body, mind soul and spirt and their enabling. She said as beings we were meant to live in joy not to live in a hurried state. The norm of being constantly busy and trying to manage creation is not our divine and human role, we ought to be still and know. As such the pace of life and toxic disruptions today all seek to steal our joy. Therefore if we are removed from experience Joy we are being attacked. She spoke about how trauma affects the body, when we become trapped in survival mode and stay in that energy. She spoke about Soma and Somatic experiencing and how it works in practice to help us live better lives. Shalizahr talks about nervous system regulation, the things we personally do to "override" the system to keep up the norms and what has become normal as a lifestyle today. Also how men and women are different and how they carry and deal with pain and trauma in different ways. This is a conversation that will change your life, do listen and be open,  think about your life and how things affect you and ask yourself questions. Like am I living in joy, am I trapped in negative energy, how is my nervous system, am I overriding my system to live in a world that is designed to harm me and what does protecting and keeping myself safe look like. What must I do to live and thrive in this life.

She is also the Co-Founder of SolveX, a startup that helps SMEs to scale with technology, transforming chaos to clarity one client at a time. In this conversation we chat about Brittany's career trajectory from finance, accounting and risk management to founding businesses and curating Communities, with a collective focus on bringing about transformation in businesses and for female founders. Brittany spoke about her work in external and internal audit, then we discussed risk assurance and management. She talks about exactly what it is and how impactful risk management is for organizations, businesses, SMEs and startups. Risk management is about analyzing risk potentials within your company and across the industry; to put controls in place to minimize the risk to save the company from potential danger. Brittany said that entrepreneurship is in her blood, having helped her grandmother and family in the early years in their businesses. She then spoke about her transition out of the Corporate world to focus on helping in the family businesses and then in her own businesses Luxe Events and SolveX. She talks about her creative side like wanting to be an interior designer but went the Corporate route. However she fuels her creativity by curating beautiful spaces in her Event Management business Luxe Events. She spoke about SolveX their mission, goals and intent which is to help SMSs businesses. We discuss the ideal customers for SolveX and how they can add value by customizing solutions for clients. Brittany talks about The Clarity Collective, her inspiration for it and the intent. At the heart it is to support women led businesses and projects by supporting each other in a tangible way like shopping, promoting and creating opportunities for each other.  In essence she said "if we don't support each other we will die"  Therefore we need Community and Connection to survive. We spoke about the Collective's first Clarity Walk and Popup Market and how the ecosystem is being built, through meaningful connections, sharing of resources, tangible purchasing of products and the relationships being built. Brittany talks about what is new and up coming in The Clarity Collective for service businesses and the profiling, and the meaningful work happening in the Collective.This is a conversation about a woman moving with clarity; pivoting from Corporate to entrepreneurship, to equipping women in a Collective which can change the world. BioBrittany Gonzales has over fourteen years experience in the Financial Services and Risk industries, twelve of which was focused in External and Internal audit, Regulatory due diligence for Mergers and (M&A)  Acquisitions.     Jus Curls W/ Carla Beckles

    Send us Fan MailOn the Podcast this week, my guest is Carla Beckles, the Founder and CEO of Jus Curls, a Caribbean haircare brand produced and manufactured in Trinidad and Tobago.In this conversation, we chat about Carla’s entrepreneurial journey, the inspiration behind Jus Curls, the process of launching and manufacturing multiple product lines, and her vision for the future of the brand.Carla said that she created Jus Curls from a place of love for her daughter and a deep passion for healthy, natural hair. Now what began as a personal journey to care for textured hair has grown into a thriving brand dedicated to serving the natural hair community with intention, integrity and results.She talks about her natural hair journey, and how she started making products at home for her and her daughter's hair. Which led to the starting of the business. Carla's friend who had a store, encouraged her to put some of the products in the store. She then put 25 jars of moisturizer and 25 bottles of oils for sale. Back then the label gave the instructions to microwave the products for one minute. To Carla's surprise the products were all  sold. In hindsight, she attributed the sales to the fact that persons admired how healthy and flourishing her and her daughter's hair looked, which was the  ultimate testimony for the products. She then started to produce 25 jars of moisturizer and oils per month, for purchase in the store. Carla then enlisted the help of a Chemist to help her produce the products minus the microwave step. To ensure that they had a longer shelf life and to move towards more professional standardized products. We spoke about her sales and marketing strategy, which started out with traditional media, because it was what she knew having worked at the radio station. Then she moved into digital and social media. We spoke about manufacturing, production and staffing which was the "family business" her engine room. I told Carla she mirrored the famous Madam C.J. Walker. to which she said Madame C.J Walker was her biggest inspiration. Carla spoke about the introduction of other products in the line, the packaging and her desire to produce products that will compete on the world stage. Her intention is to present a affordable, attractive and quality product for clients. Carla shares the story behind the lines of Jus Curls, which now carries (4) lines. The Shea Butter, Rosemary Peppermint, Sea Moss and Cocoa Collection. Which has a combination of Shampoos, Conditioner, Moisturizers, Oils and Grease. They can be used interchangeably. Carla said on the horizon is a line for persons with natural locs. We discussed her challenges during the entrepreneurial journey, which centered around the sourcing of packaging from abroad. The lesson learnt is to do your research on all aspects of your business to avoid pitfalls and unforeseen challenges. Carla said business is not for the feint of heart.  We discussed dealing with competition and finding her loyal customers. Her view is that there is room for everyone in the market. She believes that her people will find her. In her experience her base grows from referrals and word of mouth. Carla spoke about her vision for Jus Curls, which is for the brand to become a household name in the Caribbean. To scale she would like investment to open a factory, and for a partner to ship/distribute the products across the Caribbean. Her advice to women, on business and ideas that you may have, is to "just start where you are, don't think it has to be grand. Don't talk yourself out of it just start"

    Taking Flight / W Aneisha Trim (Commercial Pilot)

    Send us Fan MailIn this episode we are taking flight in an exciting conversation with Aneisha Trim a Commercial Pilot from the Caribbean, whose journey in aviation is both inspiring and impactful. She flies with one of the  leading carriers, to destinations across the Caribbean. In this episode, we spoke about Aneisha's journey to becoming an aviator, what the reality of life as a pilot truly looks like and her experience flying the friendly skies. Aneisha said the desire to become a Pilot arose when as a flight attendant she walked into the Cockpit and saw the many blinking lights and buttons on the dashboard, instantly she felt a spark and that birth the desire to fly. Aneisha shared about her first familiarization test flight in the air (in a light airplane) with an instructor, which further solidified her desire and determination to pursue this path. We discussed the rigors and extensive training required at different stages of the training process, and how she was able to navigate that season in her life. She said it requires countless hours of study and exams. Aneisha spoke about flight school, generally the process can take about 2 years and is very costly. However persons can fly and learn at their own pace beyond the 2 year period. Aneisha did her training first in Trinidad to obtain her private license, then completed training in Miami, to acquire her full commercial license. Aneisha shared about her experience of being one of the few black female aviators from the Caribbean in the Miami flight school. It was a novelty among her peers, which created quite a buzz. She did however find the experience enjoyable and was able to successfully complete her studies.  After obtaining a Commercial license, the process for applying and waiting to be hired to work at an airline, can sometimes vary and be lengthy. Aneisha was fortunate to be hired shortly after her license. Once accepted and assigned to an aircraft, she then had to do more training to learn how to use that specific aircraft.We talked about a day in the life of a Pilot. Which starts with them looking at aviation dashboards, preparation for each flight, briefings to crew, aircraft checks and to generally ensure that all the checks and protocols are done before a flight. When asked what she likes most about flying, Aneisha said being able to work with different crews, flying in the sky, seeing the horizons, flying into new airports and just everything about aviation. Aneisha sheds light on what is turbulence, how it impacts the aircraft and how Pilots fly through atmospheric conditions; to make flights more comfortable for passengers.  She also shares some practical tips on how passengers can feel calmer and enjoy their inflight travel experience.We chat about her lifestyle blog and how she loves sharing and capturing moments to show the beauty of Countries around the world. We chat about the destinations she loves like Thailand and Greece, and also places in the Caribbean. Aneisha says Grenada reminds her of  home in Tobago. She fancies islands like Barbados, St. Lucia and others.  When asked as a Pilot, which Country she likes flying into, it is St. Maarten which is thrilling to see the person on the shoreline waiting for the planes to fly above them. Aneisha's message to people who want to pursue their dreams are "goals can be achieved, just focus and remember why you started the journey, don't give up." I invite you to listen to this thrilling conversation. I am chatting with Aleya Fraser, an Author, Ethnobotanist, and Land Steward dedicated to preserving and honoring Caribbean plant knowledge.We talk about her professional training, her journey writing this important book, the healing power of herbs, and what it means to reconnect with land, knowledge, and ancestral wisdom in today’s world. Aleya spoke about her serepedipitous journey into health and wellness practice, which started out with her studying Medicine to become a Doctor. After volunteering on a farm during college, she came to a keen realization that food and herbs were medicine. She then switched her studies and careers goals and choose to focus on the traditional form of medicine over the western side. While farming Aleya discovered many plants and herbs which inspired her to find out more about their use. Through this study she was able to understand the roots and benefits of herbs as medicine; and for her working with the land is tied to herbalism and healing. We talked about her book Caribbean Herbalism, which started as a blog on Substack about herbs, plants, it's use and benefits. After which a Publisher contacted her and asked her to write a book on Caribbean Herbalism. Aleya spoke about the process, research and travel across the Caribbean which informed and helped shape the book. We spoke about the Caribbean connection of rituals, food, herbs and practices in culture which is described in the book. We talk about using herbs and the belief system and rituals surrounding them. Our ancestors believed in their healing powers; which is part of knowing the benefits, believing in how they can heal and be used for general health and wellness. We discussed how to responsibly use herbs; that is understanding doses. Aleya spoke about some herbs that can be incorporated into our daily diet, lifestyle and for preventative healthcare. Plus, for culinary and beauty use. We chat about the use of herbalism in skincare and beauty products; Aleya talks about using sorrel and honey for a mask, aloe to tighten and clear pores, bacano leaf and ratchet used as shampoos for hair etc. We chat about her work as a Land Steward; like the tours, hikes,  ethnobotany walks they offer. Plus the cocoa bean to bar chocolate making experience, on their land. For Aleya this lifestyle and the practice of herbalism is about creating harmony in your body. It's her life's work and life to which she has fully embraced. Caribbean Herbalism, a groundbreaking work that blends memoir, cultural record, and practical herbal guide.     KOR Gourmet Popsicles W/ Rochelle Bellemare

    Send us Fan MailIn this episode of the Sunbeam Chats Podcast, I am chatting with Rochelle Bellemare an Entrepreneur and the Founder of Sweet B’s and SuBe Manufacturing TT, which produces a line of frozen artisan desserts and sweet treats. The flagship brand is KOR, a gourmet ice cream popsicle.In this conversation we chat about her interesting path to entrepreneurship. Before that Rochelle studied Biology, Ecology and the Environment, specializing in Zoology. Over a five year period, she worked in an Eco Park and in the Emperor Valley Zoo in Port of Spain Trinidad. After which she decided to switch careers to build her own business and to pursue her dreams. She then conceptualized Sweet B's and later created a line of liquid nitrogen ice-cream. Rochelle spoke about the journey and process for building her first business; which were production, branding, sales, marketing and the highs, lows, challenges and changes she made along the way to grow. Rochelle then spoke about the hard decision she made to close the business and then her pivot to start SuBe Manufacturing TT.  Rochelle talked about starting over, the reinvention, rebrand and new product development which led to the making of KOR. This time armed with invaluable experience and an investment; she focused mainly on B2B and less B2C with the introduction of this new product line. KOR was distributed in retail stores and she partnered with entities for seasonal events and festivals; for the soft launch the  T&T Trade & Industry Convention (TIC) Trade Show. She spoke about having to be flexible when necessary in business and also not compromising on the things that matter most to stay true to the vision and brand. Rochelle spoke about what success will look like, milestones, the future and her mission to build a global brand. Which involves multiple KOR product lines across the world, rooted in that Countries' culture. She said, KOR is not just a gourmet popsicle, it is memory, identity and stories frozen into each bar. They pull from lived Caribbean experiences. KOR popsicles are carefully crafted to reflect island heritage both in taste and the vibrant branding and each product. As such he has created an ecosystems in his operations so that those around him can also experience this abundant life. Darnel Francois Is was the Senior Product Manager & Partnerships Lead, at Draper Startup House Caricom, and Founder of MedVoice AI. He is currently completing an LLM in International Law at the University of East London.MedVoice AI is a voice-first electronic health record that lets clinicians document visits, complete forms, generate reports, and manage patient records using natural speech. It is trained to understand accented voices across the Caribbean diaspora, and emerging markets.     From Corporate to Candles & Scents W/ Patriena Modeste

She also hosts candle making sessions for the public.Patriena is also the Founder of Reset Hub a serene wellness space designed to help you pause, inhale and exhale. The hub is where calm meets creativity; the sanctuary to unwind, recharge and reset.In this conversation, we discuss her pivot from Corporate life to entrepreneurship, which started with a "restlessness"' of wanting more, and being "drained" after work. Patriena talks about the family discussion which gave her the idea to start making candles and how she prepared by doing research, buying the raw materials and working with formulas to create her first protypes.  Patriena shares that after she began working on the candles, mixing and making the scents; after work she discovered that this became her happy place outside of her family life - the Reset she needed. Her first customers were coworkers and family who loved the candles and asked for more. After consulting her husband, who asked her what was her vision, together they started the business. We discuss the upgrade from the original candle concepts to the rebranding and packaging. Then the introduction of reed diffusers and room sprays, in the line of Modest Scentsations. Patriena spoke about their focus on creating eco-friendly healthy products in the market for their customers, which is a hallmark of the brand. We discuss the marketing and branding of Modest Scentsations, which made her products stand out.  For the sales, Patriena tried the usual, pop-up and farmers markets and even sold at local retailers. However she knew that being in the Trade Channels and weekend markets, was not her ultimate goal. Patrienna talks about the intention of her products which is to give people a feeling of "home" in their space. To savour the moment of calm and peace in their spaces. This feeling she created with her products, Patriena wanted to capture in a physical space where people can gather to enjoy the moment. Patriena shares that starting the Reset Hub, was a journey of highs and lows, as such she had to persevere and trust her faith in God. She kept the vision, and then slowly the Reset Hub was borne and launchedWe discuss the impact of words of affirmations as part of the power in the Reset Hub space. What it does for guests and for her personally. Patriena said her word of 2026 is Faith, which speaks to the fact that while she may have plans, she must have faith that God can change it according to his will. Then if or when it happens she can understand why and be grateful for the redirection. When asked if she has plans for her Modest Scentsations and Reset Hub for 2026. She said yes, but she is flexible and open, because life happens as such she must be resilient and adapt. When asked what advice she will give to business woman who want to find their joy. She said pray, have faith and also be open to release and let go, because we have no control over everything. Finally Patriena said - this year we are giving you permission to reset, to be intentional in your life and in your space. So that what you speak and think, it will flow through your everyday life.

    Send us Fan MailIn this episode of the Sunbeam Chats Podcast, I am chatting about Natural Hair with Ayanna Blake a Scalp & Haircare Specialist and the Founder of The Natural Haircare Salon. In this conversation, Ayanna shares about what inspired her to start The Natural Haircare Salon, her training, journey of entrepreneurship, and how she is building her business. She also gives advice and tips on how to care for natural hair. We delve into common myths about protective hairstyles, traditions like oiling the scalp, using oils for moisture, good hair and more. Ayanna talks about her purpose for educating women, she is said to have gifted hands and therein lies her mission to help. She indicated that most salons focus on styling, but hers is about proper and effective haircare. Ayanna indicated that taking care of your hair involves understanding your particular hair type; and that general care involves the hair and scalp. The hair which requires hydration, moisture and trims to grow and retain length, the scalp must be kept clean and healthy. A common issue she sees with natural hair is dehydration, which affects elasticity. Women often think that the application of oils on the scalp and hair will fix "dry hair" but this does not work. In client consultations, Ayanna first discusses their hair history, concerns or issues then hair goals. She also asks about the products they use and gives advice on which is best suited for their hair, which is a key factor in the haircare journey. She talks about the use of oils which if used frequently or abused requires the use of a clarifying shampoo to clean the hair and scalp. Oils do not necessarily hydrate the hair. We discuss braids, weaves, wigs and other options for women. When used, should incorporate effective care and maintenance when applied to natural hair. Three habits we need to incorporate into natural haircare are keeping the scalp clean and product free, maintenance hair cuts and the use of a clarifying shampoo when cleaning/washing. Some harmful habits for natural hair are  not washing regularly, hair should be washed minimum every two weeks. When washing your hair  should be open and exposed, not in braids etc. Taking care of hair with colour, understand that there will be additional treatments required. We talk about services like scalp & hair rehabilitation, hydration & moisture therapy, maintenance and length-retention systems. What these entail and how Ayanna is able to help women achieve their hair goals. Ayanna talks about braids. She said it is not a protective style especially when used with edge control and gels. The use of braids can be quite harmful to hair, if the natural hair is not prepared well to accept the braids. We discuss issues with women's hairline and receding edges. Ayanna  talks about treatments and what women need to do to protect their scalp. Ayanna is a natural hair "whisper" and hair "doctor". With her training, knowledge, experience and passion she is helping women to repair and  restore their hair to maintain healthy natural hair. Her final message to women is "Your hair is not the problem, you just have not been taught the right way. So be patient and give yourself grace. Your hair is worthy of  understanding and not frustration".

Plus how through our faith we can unlock uncommon blessings.  She starts by sharing about her life, studies, faith and journey which brought her to this juncture. Jenna said she is a "wounded healer" having walked through the valley, which makes her best equipped to help her clients. She discusses how in her practice she integrates faith, therapy and  emotional intelligence; because Jenna believes they are interdependent, with faith being the anchor, both can therefore help people live wholistic lives. We discuss her book and the process of writing, which took eleven years. She spoke about what changing the way you think means; which is being aware of the narratives in your mind and learning how to reframe them. Jenna developed a four step process for this reframing - Reflect, Reframe, Release and Refocus. This is a deliberate act and conscious reshaping of your mindset. By being aware of the narratives and identifying where they originated. Be it from parents, partners, peers school etc. Then by reframing, you must create new narratives, that can empower you and push you forward into abundant life. We discuss limiting beliefs which keep people from living their life authentically and fully. This shows up like caring too much about what people think. Also when people feel like they are falling behind in life. These are all public discourse and narratives, which must be challenged. We talk about being stuck. Jenna said this is mental, as such people need to be aware of the negative thoughts and stories in the mind, and how they are being  processed internally. So that the shifts can be made. We chat about dealing with disappointments of various kind. Jenna said first feel the feels, name it, identify what led to it and also and accept what was lost. Then dig deeper, ask what is the disappointment teaching in this season, what do I need to shift and change. Jenna believes people can become resilient when handling disappointment. We talk about when "rejection is redirection", hearing God's voice when seeking new pathways, trusting when something does not happen and knowing when to refocus. We talk about what is an abundant life; for Jenna personally and how people can seek an such a life. We talk about dealing with difficult situations and accessing God's grace in the midst. What are Uncommon Blessings? Jenna shares that they are little or big miracles and how we should pray bold prayers; because they can open doors and usher people into new seasons. This is a deep discussion about life, pain, power, passion and being on the path to living your best life.     Desiging in the Age of AI & AR W/ Bontio Thompson

    Send us Fan MailBonito Thompson is an Artist, Creative Entrepreneur the Founder of the boutique Ad Agency Don Dada Creative Agency, the Caribbean's first AR design studio, which has won six (6) ADDY Awards. In this conversation we chat about designing, creativity and Bonito's career trajectory in the creative sector and his use of tech in art, in Jamaica and the region. Bonito started working at an Ad Agency as an intern, learning the skills,  business and culture. He was then given the opportunity to work on regional and international brands, which ignited his creativity, talent and design aesthetic. Bonito said that he is naturally creative, it is one of his God given gifts and talents. The more he leans into it, he realizes that his purpose on the earth is to create and make art in whatever form it takes.Bonito spoke about his passion for learning, research, upskilling and teaching himself about the tools and trends in the industry. He then spoke about his transition from his job at the Agency, to form his own boutique Ad Agency. This was triggered when he started to do his Solo Art Shows and Exhibitions. In particular when he did his AR show, clients came calling for independent work, while he was still working at the Ad Agency. This was the final push for him to start his Agency. We discussed his many Awards and the leverage it gave him and elevation of the Ad Agency. Bonito said he always knew his work was award worthy, as such his thought or expectation was not if he would win, but "how many he would win". When asked how he stays creatively charged and inspired, he said living a balanced life if important. He shared that Creatives should seek  adventure, maintain a natural childlike wonder and make things for fun not just for commercial use. He indicated that in a calm and open state of mind the ideas flow and channel through him. Bonito said for Creatives there is a collective consciousness in the  Community that exists, which allows them to tap into ideas that flow freely. There is a source they are privileged to experience. As such he personally must be in a state where he is able to be aligned with himself and experiences. Where he can see something and be creative in the natural life flows. We talk about the Creative Entrepreneur and what it means in the context today. The reality is that Creatives ought to think differently about how they solve problems, yet still retain artistic expressions, to generate money, thereby turning passion to profit. We talk about the rise and use of AI and AR in creative works. The use of AR in his company allows Bonito to position and differentiate his Agency. He said that, there are many benefits and AR itself allows for virality when used and executed well in campaigns. It allows him to maximize it in a unique way. Bonito spoke about a Counter Culture, where multiple things can coexists and this is true in the arts. This means that some people will embrace the new Tech in the expression of the arts while some will hold onto the traditional artistic expressions. However because of the speed of Tech if it is not embraced in some ways, persons will be left behind, be it artists, designers, art lovers, collectors and aficionados.  Bonito said, Tech is a multiplier it just depends on how you use it. There is a solution and tool invented and perhaps will be invented for every problem. Therefore it can make life better and or easier. As for future plans, there are goals for the company and him personally. Bonito said that they experiment with art, and they live at the intersection of art tech and culture, as such they aim to build and expand on this. For Bonito it's about Making Really Great Art.

    Native Caribbean Scents W/Tamara Gibson

    Send us Fan MailIn the latest episode of the Podcast, I am chatting with Tamara Gibson an Entrepreneur, Artisan Perfumer and the Founder of Native Caribbean. In this conversation Tamara shares the story of her exit from working in the Corporate sector in business development and international relations, to find her footing in the world of entrepreneurship; which she said happened by accident. Since then she has been growing and building her own micro-business. The business started with making her first Japanese Cherry Blossom scented candle, which later evolved into her making and capturing candles with scents of her childhood and the Caribbean. She then created the candle called East Coast Road, of great significance to Barbados. This candle is still to date, one of her best seller. We then spoke about her journey of entrepreneurship. She said the actual making and producing the products came/comes easy for her. As such the journey was one of personal development, where she struggled with her self worth and identity, which was linked to her prior career. She "questioned" her worth and image which was tied to professional achievements. Which can be quantified if you are climbing the Corporate ladder and being in that space and lifestyle. As an entrepreneur those markers are not there, especially in the early stages. We spoke about the business, Tamara said her initial goal and even now was to make something, meaningful, of a standard and unique. She started with the candles and then after research and teaching herself the craft, she realized she had a natural ability to construct fragrances. She then decided to make perfumes which was very intentional. She then pursued both British and French training online through courses and in person on location. Tamara was then equipped with industry knowledge and technical skills, to begin to create perfumes.  Her intent was to create products that would perform well, could survive on the international market and to innovate in perfumery. It took her two years to bring to life her products. Tamara leaned into her Caribbean roots, used the ingredients from the land and with her natural ability or "nose" she wanted to tell deeper stories of our Caribbean identity in fragrances. She indicated that there was nothing called Caribbean perfumery existing before her line of fragrances. Tamara spoke about using things in our household for generations like; bay leaf, pimento, west Indian sandalwood, amaris, Haitian vetiver and lemon grass. Her perfumes are not tropical inspired, but are actually made literally of ingredients from the Caribbean. This year, tamara launched five fragrances in the market. Which ships into Caricom and the diaspora. They can be ordered online and shipped to 220 Countries across the USA and UK catchments. Tamara shares the story and significance of the ingredients, used in the fragrances which are: Inheritance, Kill Devil, Nutmeg and Cocoa, Plantation Gold and West Indian Sandalwood. Which all sound simply beautiful and divine.  We talk about launching the perfumes and her reaction thereafter, the business of Native Caribbean and what inspired the name.  Native Caribbean carries two lines which are: home fragrances - diffusers, wax melts, sprays, candles, room sprays, linen sprays and pillow mists. In the fine fragrances line, there are five perfumes as listed above in 3 sizes. Her advice to women, is that nothing happens by mistake. Don't let fear cripple you, don't make doubt make you pause, because you have everything within you to get it done.

    Breaking Barriers in Arts & Entertainment W /Krystle Bascombe

    Send us Fan MailIn this exciting conversation on the Sunbeam Chats Podcast, we hear the story of how a little drummer girl was able to defy the odds to tour the world and break barriers in the entertainment sector, by moving to the beat of her own drum. She is Krystle Bascombe an Artist, Percussionist, Entrepreneur andFounder of Reform Generation (ReGen) and KB Music Global. Krystle taught music in the United Arab Emirates and in 2015 she became a touring drummer and musical director with Cirque Du Soleil, a Montreal  Canada-based entertainment company, and the largest contemporary circus producer in the world.On the Podcast we chat about her love for music, her studies, the jump from leaving a permanent Government job, into the risky business of  arts and entertainment to follow her passion.  Krystle starts by talking about her discovery of drumming as a little girl, which later opened doors and opportunities for travel. This inspired her to gain more knowledge of music, and to study in London, where she  attained a BSc in Popular Music Performance. She then taught Music in Abu Dhabi for 2 years; and while playing at a "Gig" on MTV Dubai was discovered and invited to be a percussionist for Cirque Du Soliel. We spoke about working with Cirque Du Soliel and what was required of her as a creative. Which involved an instant upgrade, personal transformation, life changes and evolution. It is and was an experience of a lifetime, which helped her develop into the creative professional she is today. We chat about Caribbean creatives; the power and unlimited creativity that flows from within them, which can get them work in international productions. However if they desire to play at that higher level, they must be diligent, adapt and excel.  Krystle talks about what it takes to prepare for productions and shows at Cirque Du Soliel. To survive and thrive, her mindset and personal preparation working among other passionate creatives, has to be strong and at the highest levels. We talk about her "heart project" Reform Generation (ReGen) which aims to provide the avenue to prepare Caribbean creatives to perform on the world stage. It is also about upskilling and perfecting the talent of persons within Communities in music, so they can see it as a viable career. We talk about KB Music Global (Kreative Breakthrough in MusicGlobally) and it's intent. We discuss the music industry, the mindset of artiste and musicians who limit themselves by staying local or by using competitions as the platform to get money, which is a onetime payout. There is little growth and evolution. Krystle advice for Creatives is, always stay in creation mode and update your (EPK) Electronic Press Kits. Spend time understanding the craft,  business, learn about contracts, IP, marketing and branding. Also follow your local, regional and international trends in the industry. Learn pricing, network locally and globally and build relationships consistently. Also support other creatives, show up at events and  encourage them on Socials.  When asked how she stays fresh and creative, especially with her busy schedule and touring. Krystle said she has learnt how to manage her time and she is always in research mode learning what's new. As to what is her dream, Krystle said she never wanted to be another drummer girl, she wanted more and to be aligned with the grander vision she had for herself. Krystle story is about faith, finding your passion, preparing and perfecting your craft. She was able to jump into the unknown, elevate, explore and to begin to build things to inspire others and to leave a legacy.

    Black Romance Books W/ Kimolisa Mings

    Send us Fan MailToday, I’m joined on the Sunbeam Chats Podcast by a woman whose words celebrate love, identity, and the beauty of the Caribbean islands. Kimolisa Mings is an Author from Antigua who has been writing and self-publishing since 2012.In this conversation we chat about her love for books, writing and romance. From her studies in Fashion to creating stories in writing, we chat about the  journey, what inspires her stories and how she weaves the rhythms of Caribbean life into her fiction. Kimolisa spoke about how she discovered self publishing and book formatting. Where she helps Authors by taking the raw hopefully (edited) manuscript and then prepares or typeset it to get it ready for publishing on kindles, eBooks and other platforms as required.  We talk about the types of books she has written, at first they were of various genres. Then Kimolisa looked at it with a business mindset, that is from the perspective of what is popular, accessible and can be relatable based on identity. She then discovered BWWM (Black Women, White Men) romance which was is popular genre of books. She then honed her writing skills in this subject matter, and based on feedback started writing her romance stories rooted in the Caribbean as its background. We discussed the desire for love, couplehood, interracial couples, and the dynamics of attraction between men and women. Also about privilege and identity when choosing a mate from both the female and male ideology.  We talk about the affect that the fantasy of romance stories can have on or influence women's desires when looking for love, thereby making it unrealistic. At the same time romance books as a genre can be a source of escape for women. Kimolisa said that women should have the "Grace to discover the Fantasy of Love." Kimolisa talks about the business of writing, which has to be a balance between the author's joy from doing it and the business of being an Author. She talks about the challenges as a Black Romance Author; she understands that people of other races may not read her books, thereby resulting in less sales and notoriety. Niche genres, translates into if publishers will take books which are not marketable based on sales projections. The caveat is that there is self publishing where Authors publish their own stories for their audience, to tell the stories within their hearts. After the book is written what is next? We chat about book publishing which involves a lot of marketing. This is very important and can be done not just at the end of the process, but before during and after the book release. Kimolisa talks about the books she is finishing and stories still to be written. Her advice to Caribbean writers is - don't expect to get rich from writing and try to get a balance between what you want to write and what readers what to read. For first time writers, understand the genre you want to get into and what you want from this experience; be it to write a book for self satisfaction or to publish and generate some income. This will help writers manage their  expectations so they won't be crushed and never write again  We talk about bookish content, events and creating the space for readers to connect; like book clubs, reading parties etc. We agreed that it is a good thing when readers meet to share our love for reading and to make space for people within the Community,  Kimolisa's story is still being written - she has explored a range of genres, from poetry, mystery to romance, but her heart lies in telling Black Caribbean love stories. As she beautifully puts it, every Caribbean woman deserves a happily ever after.

    Living Fit & Rejuvenation & Reinvention W /Sharon Feanny

In this conversation I had a chat with a pioneer and icon in the Wellness space in Jamaica. Sharon Feanny, is an entrepreneur, author and certified yoga teacher, she  sits at the helm of a purpose-driven enterprise that bridges the gap between wellness and entrepreneurship. We talk about her beautiful home of Jamaica, career, life, businesses,  brands, her book Live Fit Kitchen and the movement she started in wellness in Kingston and Montego Bay. Sharon spoke about her discovery of Yoga, fitness, nutrition and wellness and what inspired her to follow this path. Which led her to Hawaii to study from a Yoga Master about the practice, raw foods, meditation and tai chi. She then worked as a Assistant Spa Director in Ocho Rios and then in Corporate in Tourism at the Sandals Group.After which she pivoted back to her love of wellness, and became a Yoga teacher, created a line of Aromatherapy oils called "Starfish Oils"  a successful business venture shipping products across the Caribbean. We spoke about the creation of Shakti Yoga Center/Shakti Mind Body Fitness and then Shakit Activation, a lifestyle transformation space and program that merged yoga, clean eating, meditation, and group accountability into a replicable scalable product and lifestyle. Sharon spoke about the challenges of building and managing a lifestyle wellness business in that period. She said as an entrepreneur you have to know when and how to pivot, take risks and venture into new opportunities when presented. Which can help grow, differentiate and elevate your business.   We discussed eating healthy foods and proper nutrition for the body. Sharon gave some tips, and spoke about how some foods like sugar, dairy, wheat and alcohol can affect our bodies. She spoke about oil pulling and the creation of her business venture, a line of Jamaican-made cold-pressed coconut oils. Sharon spoke about what led to the evolution and creation of her book Live Fit Kitchen, a plant-based cookbook that extended her wellness lifestyle teachings into the culinary space. The book is full of healthy recipes to keep us fit, full of vitality and living well. She also gave us a glimpse of a day/week in the life of Sharon, which involved mindfulness, eating healthy, exercise and managing her businesses. One of her most impactful recent ventures is the Radiant Aging Program, designed to support women navigating midlife transitions such as Menopause. Sharon spoke about her own experience with Meno-pause and how she has learnt to manage her life and this change in her body. Her Radiant Aging Program is a six-week integrative program that combines hormone-balancing nutrition, movement, detoxing, and self-care rituals. It is designed to help women on this journey.  When asked what is next, Sharon said that she is listening, and waiting to see where she will be led. She likes the quote "be pulled by that which you truly love" Rumi, which acts as a guide for her to find out what is next.  When asked what does radiant living mean to her, Sharon said radiant  living is about being in good health, which is different for everyone. So find out what you like, be active, be confident in yourself, own your mess and greatness and find inner peace and with those around you.Care for your body inside out, be spiritually connected to the divine and stand in you power.

    Mental Health & Meditation W/ Brittney O. Nadur-Alexander

    Send us Fan MailOn this episode of Sunbeam Chats, I am chatting Brittney O. Nadur-Alexander, BSc, MEd, a Mental Health Guidance Specialist  and Meditation Guide from Trinidad and Tobago. She is also the host of her Podcast The Safe Zone, where she continues to champion mental and emotional well-being.In this conversation, Brittney shares about her life, why she studied Criminology and Psychology, and because of a series of personal experiences she decided to focus on Psychology. In the early years, she started her career by teaching Guidance for young girls and then expanded her private practice to Guided Meditation. We spoke about her passion and purpose for her practice. She said that generally there is a lack of awareness about mental health, and people are not given enough tools and education, which would allow them to navigate life successfully. We discussed her Podcast The Safe Zone and what constitutes a "safe space"  for people and also for couples. Brittney said that there are professional safe spaces guided by qualified practitioners, and the other option is by talking to a trusted person. They however must be non- judgmental and practice confidentiality. They should also be in a position of "power" to give advice.  Can couples become a safe space for each other? Yes it is possible, however Brittney said the individuals in the relationship should have self awareness and be developed. They should not take things personally but understand they are both a work in progress. She said "whatever you don't resolve personally, it will show up in your relationships". Couples counselling can also be a good tool to help. When asked what is Mental Health and how persons can protect it.  Brittney said it is about general wellbeing. There is always a root cause that something is connected to your self-esteem. Mental Health, is also your ability to deal with various types of trauma and resolve things of your past. It is about managing healthy relationships of all kinds, emotional intelligence, and controlling your emotions. Brittney said happiness is an emotion which comes and goes. Effective mental health helps you to be flexible to manage emotions, increase your tolerance for stress and to identify your triggers. She said people must implement things in their lives which can pour into them and not take away.  People must know what their authentic self means and understand that authenticity comes with a cost, that you will disappoint someone. Therefore  have  internal boundaries with yourself and others. People must also create a capacity for rejection and then show up in your daily roles and responsibilities. Brittney also spoke about the benefits of physical activities which aids in good mental health.  We delve into the world of Meditation, which Brittney said is "anything you do with your full awareness". Activities like sports, exercise, painting, playing games, crosswords etc., because you are focusing on that act in the moment and not the troubling issues.Brittney then spoke about Guided Meditations administered by experts, like chanting, guided scan, mindfulness mediation, sensory meditation, breath work, breathing exercise and stillness. Her advice to practice good mental health and mindful living is to adopt healthy choices like those recommended above, which don't always feel good, but will help us live our best lives and thrive.

She holds a Doctorate in Technology and Entrepreneurship, and is committed to fostering innovation and growth.In this conversation we chat about her studies, career in Automotive Arts, a Lecturer and her work in the US and beyond. Tamu said, that while she had a day job, she also developed her side businesses, which fueled her passion for entrepreneurship. She spoke about her company Innovative Education and Training Solutions,  which was designed to help primarily women who were at various stages in their life. Women who could not complete the highest level of education, but with her services, it would enable them to gain better work or business opportunities. In her High Growth Entrepreneurship Program, Tamu talks about the types of women she targets. Their business must foster innovation, speed of growth and have a footprint in the region or internationally. These women want to reposition their business to grow, and build an enterprises not just a business. Tamu spoke about the courses in the accelerator, which cater for different needs and leveling up the business. She spoke about pathways to grow by accessing financing in the region, beyond VC funding. Which is for most entrepreneurs in the region limited, because of the business structure. She spoke about the sector of beauty, fashion and tech, where businesses are growing rapidly. Also those women who are transitioning from Consultancy and reframing that, to enter the Green and Climate space are experiencing high growth.  She said being a Consultant is not having a business, to be an entrepreneur you have to create something. You can be a business person but not an entrepreneur. Tamu said she likes to work with women who push boundaries and innovate. Those in professionals spaces who create thought leadership frameworks and monetize that to foster high growth businesses; by capitalizing on their intellectual input and capacity. We spoke about the Orange Economy and creative entrepreneurship. Tamu gives her perspective about the state of the space, misconceptions and even some controversial or different views. She said that the elements of high growth entrepreneurship does not change, because everyone true entrepreneur is a creative. Tamu said that in this new world everyone has to be a creator to survive. We discussed the fact that creatives have to build their businesses just like in other sectors. They should not be enabled by repeated Grants, easy funding, and perhaps the cycle of prize money given to them through annual cultural competitions, which exists in the Caribbean region. There has to be a shift in thinking, creatives must understand that their artistry is a business. Tamu spoke about the challenges Female Founders face; like less diverse, strategic and smaller networks which limits growth. She spoke about networking - strong and weak ties and its importance to business. Women must be more intentional about networking. Tamu said that a women's mindset about business must change, they must be open to risk taking, use tech and more. She stresses that innovation does not have a clear path and that uncertainty and risk are necessary for innovation. For Females Founders she said "you deserve the grace that you give others. It's not about the length of the journey but have the journey, and the outcome will be achieved. Don't be afraid.

She’s also a 2025 Finalist for the American Legacy Book Awards in Multicultural Fiction.In today’s conversation, we spoke about her journey from the Caribbean to the U.S., her career, how she started writing, what inspires her stories, love, relationships, "daddy issues" and her experience as an author navigating marketing her books, book tours and beyond.Scarlet started writing in 2022 and shares about her process for writing, her first fiction where she started writing on her website and on Medium. We  discussed prompts and how this resource helped her writing and ignited her imagination to write the stories, in the first instance in Scarlet Yearnings.  We discussed yearnings and how do we unearth our deep desires, the power of hugs and touch; how it soothes the soul and is an act of love. Scarlet said that unearthing your desires comes from self-awareness, being tuned in with who you are, meditation, reflection, finding the time to step out of the grind, guided practice, or even seeking therapy and counsel. We chat about the book Scarlet Birthright and what inspired this book, which went deeper into some of the hurt she held, reflections, meeting of self in some ways, reclaiming what may be lost, releasing hurt and the reality that art and writing can be therapy.   She also discussed what she is  currently working on and her many awards,  and how she feels about her journey as an Author. Scarlet said she loves it more than the awards, when people positively receive and can relate to her books.Scarlet spoke about self-publishing, connecting with other authors, the community and navigating her way in the publishing ecosystem to pitch and promote her books. She said as an Author you have to advocate for yourself and put yourself and books out there.  Scarlet in the City - She shared a bit about her life in the US, meeting her husband the "meet cute" which was full of "drama", but love found its way to her. It is a high risk and potentially high reward environment within which they operate. Therefore the VCs are deliberate in who they invest in. VCs don't give a loan, however they will ask for a stake in the company which varies for each business. What does the investor landscape look like in the Caribbean? Rawle gives insight and talks about how our Caribbean culture most times influence our career choices and even our approach to business. He talks about what types of investment occur in the space and the types of startups which attract funding. He then speaks about the Founder Institute Caribbean their accelerator program and the work they are doing in the Caribbean. They also have their own VC firms, which startups if successful can benefit from. Lastly, he talks about his latest venture he is building a new Web3 FinTech startup called XBordr currently operating in stealth mode. Where her "digital nature" prompted her to think about a solution for the said pain point she encountered. Dawn says My Cashless Class is the "Amazon of the school sector". She discussed how it works, the service offerings, who are the target markets and the pain points it is solving. She spoke about how she resourced her team, building out the solution and how they took it from idea to MVP (Minimum Viable Product) in phase one of the roll out.  In essence, My Cashless Class is a platform and solution which offers the exchange of financial transactions for goods and services digitally. It provides the persons and entities within the school ecosystem; convivence and ease of doing business digitally, via a cashless safe and secure solution.We chat about scaling beyond the Classroom, where Dawn talks about her vision for the business and solution; to take it beyond boundaries, industries and sectors. She is the Founder of Keys To Wellness a nutrition consulting company that aims to improve your overall health and well-being.Back on the Podcast for another lifestyle and wellness chat, Kezia gives a life update, shares about her career, dealing with trauma (miscarriage), healing and  recovery. She spoke about her practice, being intentional about work, making space for family and offers life saving tips for living well. Kezia talks about miscarriages, which she says is a loss and the process of grief is felt like any other loss. She gave tips on the healing process, and emphasized the power of rest, which is a healthy habit, that everyone should practice. How does Mood affect your health? We discuss the impact of hormones in the body. In particular, a women's cycle and pregnancy is severely affected by hormones both physically and emotionally. As such they should be intentional about managing their lifestyle and overall health. Kezia says that people are "human beings, not human doings" as such we must become in sync with our body. Listen, learn and take notice of the signals the body is sending to take action where required. She gives some tips for healthy living, and admonishes that it is not about dieting it's a lifestyle. Eat whole foods, vegetables, fruits, fiber, staples for gut health, and proteins which are important for our immune system. Also healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, seeds and nuts) for our hormones. Practice portion control, and yes you can have your snacks/treats, but the ratio is 80% healthy foods to 20% snacks and treats. Kezia spoke about health as a hygiene, movement and exercise. Daily movement of any kind is important. For example walking, somatic exercises, yoga, breath work for hormonal balance and emotional release. Also, good sleep hygiene, rest and sleep must be prioritized. What is the Gut?  Kezia says it's quite complex; it communicates with our brains, hence why it is called the second brain. The gut affects our mood, grief, how the body absorbs nutrients, digestion, stress, cortisol levels, inflammation and other areas of the body. What is inflammation? Kezia shares that it is the body's natural response to injury, infection, or any harmful stimuli, and it can be internal like hormonal fluctuations. It can be acute for a short period in response to something or it can be chronic over a longer period of time. It can show up as swelling, pain, redness, and can affect the organs. Kezia also gives some tips for holistic wellness; which incorporates, diet, exercise, movement, preventative care, sleep, rest and sometimes saying no. She spoke about the need for body literacy - which is to read/listen to your gut feeling and body signals. Also the practice of spirituality, mindfulness and conscious living. We close by Kezia sharing about her personal wellness practice and how she is preparing her body for aging. The reality is that, the older we get the healthier we must become to preserve the body and the cycle of life.

He reflects that his journey into this space was divinely orchestrated as he listened and leaned into the opportunities as they came along the way. He talks about the 2 Percent Inc, skin and haircare line.  Garth shares the origin story and how he got involved in this venture. In it, he saw the need for men to take more care of themselves, and thought that being a role model can help further the cause and perhaps shift the men's mentality about self-care. Garth shares about the Dear Men Project, which aims to build a bridge between Caribbean men and themselves, and those who love them. He said that his personal journey, practice of selfcare, self realization and process for his dealing with issues; is what organically created the space and then later platform of the Dear Men Project. It has now evolved into building a Community, collaboration, connections and alignment with partners who are championing similar initiatives. We touch on men and women relationships, and the sender and receiver dynamics between both, when communicating. Garth's message to men at this time is that "they should understand the areas they need to become better in and work on those areas. They need to hold themselves accountable and acknowledge that they need to change and adjust in certain areas". He says that, men should also be more open minded and evolve, because the people in their lives and the environment are changing. As such they cannot be stuck and stay the same. Garth also shares some ways in which this can be achieved, and says that it requires a lot of work. Garth's story is one of the pursuit of passion and purpose. He has lived life thus far being led by his desire for more. His life shows the power of being driven, seizing the moment and opportunities, evolving and intentionally jumping into the unknown with faith, to survive and thrive.

She also spoke about The Meeting Place Community a web and mobile application, a creative ecosystem that facilitates upskilling, monetization and networking for creatives.Marielle spoke about Synapse Zone, which is more than a platform, it is a launchpad for creative ambitions, giving persons access to the resources, networks, and funding opportunities needed to scale their vision.We spoke about the "struggling artist" reality. Marielle says it is important for Creatives  to be intentional about preparing their roadmap for success. Thereafter his experience operating across sectors in agri-business, organically positioned him as a pioneer in the space. He was then contracted as a Consultant to advise companies on developing agri-business products to get  them market ready.  We discussed farming, agriculture, the life of farmers, business of farming and growing your own food. He spoke about the trends in food consumption and production. Also, where the efforts of local and regional Governments should focus in building the value chain, to ensure that there is more local foods available within their countries and even for Trade within the region.  Jody shares about his work aspirations, travels to Guyana and UK and the use of technology which enables him to work smarter and faster. He spoke about how  technology is used in marketing, business development, green houses and aquaponics farming. However little is being used in the  agro-processing, in fields or renewable products. He spoke about other ventures he is involved in like writing books and animation projects. Jody said you must first determine what is your end goal. Is it for your family or business. If it is for business and you have land, there are many things to consider; and you should determine what you are good at, the trends, what the land can produce, how much time you can give and what resources financial, equipment and workers you have to work the farm. She cautions us that creatives are human beings just like us, therefore we should perhaps give them more grace and understand the sometimes, onerous demands placed on them. She speaks about the creativity that is expressed from them through their concepts and that they are amazing storytellers, which influences more of our culture. Avalon works with creatives and artiste to amplify them, so that they can become more visible and extend the lifetime value of their brand. Avalon says culture is about people and our values. It's how we engage with each other and the world. It is the heartbeat of every society, it connects us by creating a shared love and experience. Matthew says "it is simply different types of data from various sources, be it structured and unstructured. It speaks to the volume and various types, thereafter it must be prepared, cleaned, and transformed to give information." We talk about the need to upskill and be aware of the shifts in the world as it relates to Tech and other advancements. Matthew shares about having transferable skills, soft skills and other competencies. Those you acquired along the way can play an important part and even give you the competitive edge in your future endeavors.  How can people learn and start incorporating Data Analytics? Which creates the space for networking and communities. She spoke about repurposing event content, post event. The key is to package, promote, repurpose and then promote again, to extend the engagement beyond that one event.  What's new with TCJ? Tisha talks about TCJ Events and the TCJ Academy the Edu-Events area of the business. At this stage, Tisha's desire is to be in service and leave a legacy; by training the next generation of Event Planners and Producers. Tisha's super power is in play. She studied Zoology, Ecology and Environmental Biology at the University of West Indies of Trinidad & Tobago. In this conversation we chat about how she embarked on an entrepreneurial journey to build her brands The Last Straw TT & Eco box TT. Sangeeta talks about her passion for environmental causes, and the online viral incident with a sea turtle which sparked the idea to create her bamboo straw and other ecofriendly products. We chat about her serendipitous moment in a farmers market, which showed her the "proof of concept" for the straws, after which she diligently pursued how to create them. From sourcing and cutting bamboo, baking and making them, Sangeeta through trial and refinement, created the best bamboo straw option for her brand. We talk about how she juggles working in her family business, marriage and building her company and brands. Her advice for eco-entrepreneurs trying to make a difference; is to go for it and pursue your passion for the environment,  because we all play a part to effect change in society. We discuss living consciously, Sangeeta says its about taking small steps to  incorporate it into our lives. Whatever that may look like for them.  Stephanie, then talks about the focus of  Wadadlivity, which is the indigenous Amerindian word (WALADLI/WADADLI) name for Antigua. The intention of this Community, is to show appreciation for Afro-Caribbean culture, through the lens of food and movement. We discuss food and diet as an integral part of our wellness journey. She encourages us to treat our bodies better and be conscious about what we eat. As such incorporating more plant-based and vegan options in our diet, is advisable. Such as food from the land, more fruits, grains, vegetables; and farm to table eating. Stephaine says it is, progress over perfection. That is take your time when starting so it becomes your lifestyle and not a diet or fad. We also chat about how Stephanie balances work and her own personal wellness. She schedules, me-time for mental clarity, surrounds herself with friends and family and does things that she loves. For her personal self-care rituals she takes deep tissue massages, facials and indulges in manicures. Finally, Stephanie talks about Wadadlivity, and what's on and coming in the Community. It would appear that from his experience it can sometimes be easier to get funding outside of the Caribbean. Sheldon says, we should have the right mindset when seeking investment. He encourages us to think global, and ask for more, because if you ask for little you will get little, because no investor can get their ROI if they invest little. We then chat about the innovative ReboundTAG, and how he and his team were able to bring this product to market. He spoke about the business of "Lost Luggage" citing that there are approximately 25million pieces of luggage lost across the US and Europe. He mentions that there are actually places which sell lost luggage online and in brick and mortar stores.  We discuss ReboundTAG, which is a solution that helps people track and locate their lost luggage. It will connect the finders smartphone anywhere in the world, then send a email with GPS coordinates to them, so that they can recover the item. Sheldon talks about how the Tag works, across the various systems. In essence it operates within a ecosystem with ReboundTAG, the luggage owner, airports and airlines working together to return the lost luggage to its owner. Interestingly, Sheldon says that products can win awards and still not sell in the market. Therefore if someone has a innovative product, they should understand how to sell and promote the product to various audiences. We also talk about some of the challenges one may have when marketing a new product; which for him was mainly the people resources. Others are gaslighting, stone walling, bread crumbing (feeding a little but not fully invested), lack of accountability and not taking ownership etc. She says that couples in long term relationships, change over the years.  Being mindful of this is important, because the dynamics of the relationship will also change.  Which may cause problems if not addressed, and if both parties do not evolve as well. Allisha talks about the deliberate actions required to build a committed relationship. Ultimately, it starts with being intentional and making time and space to make it work.She indicated that there is also a need for individuals to establish personal boundaries. This can give them the space to be themselves, feed their soul, and evolve. We talk about women in relationships and the need for them to practice self-care. Her advice for women is that they should take their time and invest in themselves.  So that they can add value to the relationship, to pour in and also to receive in a  healthy environment.When choosing a mate, it is important to be intentional; observe them in all their seasons. Watch their interactions, ask the right questions, speak about your morals and boundaries and ask the same of them. Allisha indicates that a healthy committed relationship must have trust and honesty. To future proof your relationship, it is important for couples to spend quality time together, keep dating, explore and try new things. Also have your me-time, because if these elements are missing then these can lead to a breakdown. Allisha says "for relationships to sail you have to understand why it is anchored. His Industry leadership comprises a myriad of roles across various sectors. In this in-depth conversation Jules shares about his academic pursuits, the influence his family had on shaping and guiding him along his career path and the intentional transition into the world of business, entrepreneurship and events. He talks about how he was determined to show his parents the "possibility of his passion" and indicates that if you believe in your ventures you can "convince people who don't see it", they can then convert from being "detractors to supporters". We chat about his venture into business and the entertainment space while studying in Jamaica, which is where he developed his entrepreneurial skills. Then his brands were exported and the movement continued across the Caribbean, US, UK and beyond. A true visionary, Jules gives advice on the mindset, posture and passion one must have when pioneering new business ventures and for life. He says "people may not always believe in what you are doing, but you have to believe in it, because it can take you to the world".  He encourages us to use what we have, do what we do best, then package it to transform the world. We talk about the future, where he speaks of his continuous evolution and global mindset. He says the journey continues and he is excited about the possibility of the future, that he is far from finished.  Though his world keeps evolving, he is centered by family and by God and leans on him for guidance. Jules says if we are driven by purpose, it allows us to see life in a broader sense, beyond the act of doing that one thing. Shalizar said that most times we don't have a relationship with our bodies, and take it for granted by doing things that can harm us. This lack of understanding can lead to burnout and abuse.  Shalizar speaks to the facets of human beings; the body, mind, soul and spirit. She then goes through each so that we can understand how they speak to us in different ways.  The Body is the "alarm clock" which signals that something is happening. The Mind is a good servant not a master, the Soul is our consciousness from God. The Spirit is the breath of God that dwells within us. They are all connected and make us  functional intuitive human beings. Shalizar roots are in the Warao and Garifuna people. They are the first people of Trinidad & Tobago; a nation or clan. She spoke about how these traditions and culture are integrated into her practise and how she is able to help people, which really comes from our heritage. The healing practise, draws on the indigenous healing traditions and principles, and focuses on nature, spirit and community.We discuss the Soul, where many of the diseases and imbalances come from, which cause the misalignment of the body and soul. In her practise and healing methods, she uses immersions, which requires us to be present with "you" to be in tune with what's happening in and with our body.  In Zhar Wellness, they believe that wholistic wellness is the foundation of self-love. Shalizar gives some tips on how to get the breakthrough in your life, which means something will break.
