Spotify Singles has been around for as long as we can remember. That's not news. Lofi singles however... that's a whole other story. Some people were happy, some not, some angry, some never really gave a turd. Other than that, this one has been a slow episode. Not a lot to cover music wise. We talked about moving our podcast to another platform too, do you think we need a stream-deck? For those of you tuning in now, this is just a bi-weekly call between two friends that tend to banter about their musical endevours and then some. Cheerio!

Do you recall Paul's eternal struggle with audio quality and how that man went through countless Amazon orders (and returns) of cables, adapters, Instagram live restarts... Well he's back at it again, this time changing his microphone settings halfway throught the episode. A few hours later in post, he manages to "somehow" level up the levels. Oh well... We also talked about other stuff, sadly there wasn't any juicy content these past couple of weeks. This won't stop us filling out yet another 2 hours of content. We just let our personalities shine. In this episode we talk about how the circumstances of the industry, the genre and the community we're in is making artists and producers delusional. Setting unrealistic goals, assuming too much, believing that the minimum amount of effort deserves the maximum reward and earning respect simply by demanding it. The "fake artists" issue has resurfaced and even more outlets are reporting about it - one can literally do that with a 5' minute search on Spotify and maybe an hours worth of reading. Listen to us, read some articles up and make up your own mind. Along with fake artists, come fake contracts or should we say "I-wish-this-was-a-fake-contract". The Lofi Fruits business model of recoupable royalties never really went away, it only got a new set of clothes. This episode we hyped a bit more than usual, definitely several being affected and motivated by a few things that happened the past weeks. While diving into a couple of subjects, we discovered a few more and I guess we kinda did some "investigating" before we just dive into this. Sometimes it feels like a dream, to know that we have been doing this methodically every two weeks! Sure maybe we missed a week or two here and there, but it was for a good reason.

We honestly thought that we would run out of material after 4 episodes. Guess not. The Lofi hip hop and instrumental chill beats genre (and it's community) is the gift that keeps on giving. Is Lofi Hip Hop gentrified or not? Is there a divide in the scene and the culture. Plenty of sensitive topics that we dive into. Surely there's gonna be more discussions about it.

Episode number 12 is all about education and no tea. Well a little bit. It's quite wonderful to see how this is evolving into a conversation, I think this was our goal from the start. Anyway, enough with the pleseantries. In this episode we talk (rather extensively) about NFTs and Metallica and then YouTube music and some breakthrough ideas. Should we bring some people over?
