EDUCAT!ON
Education is something that is so close and dear to my heart and I believe that to be educated is to be free because the more we learn, the more we grow. Today, almost 60 million children (about 34 million of which are in Sub-saharan Africa) of primary school age are out of school - meaning they don’t even have the chance to learn how to read and write. This week we discuss the importance of education, the transformation, progress and challenges we've encountered towards our efforts in ensuring access to basic education for all. My father shares his personal education journey, his thoughts on eduction and his experience raising and educating daughters. What schools did you attend, Do you have a favorite teacher? If you haven’t yet, make sure you check out our previous episodes. And until next time, Happy Sunday! Have a blessed week.

The Self
Who are you? Human beings are such complex creatures and everyday we are discovering more and more of who we are. Once we discover who we are and our self-identity, the next thing most people look to find is purpose - what am I here for? We are all made for a purpose and the search for purpose can become a lifelong quest for many. In this episode my dad shares his experience of self-identity and discovery. As you listen, we pray that you will be led to discover who you are and what your purpose is and “Always know that there is something you can do in this world to make life better and you are the only one that can do that part and nobody else. So find that niche and work on it and you will get fulfillment.”

Intro
My dad and I can talk on the phone for hours about anything, the Bible, religions, faith, politics, football, family, places, etc. If I am ever on a trivia game show and have to phone one person, I’d call my dad. To me, he knows just about everything. I consider him to be a great story teller, which makes him a great teacher and an even greater preacher. Any foundation I have about faith, I got from home. As I have gotten older, I have learned to appreciate our conversations and want to capture all of it. He has an incredible story and his journey to faith gave him a personal perspective on God and as his daughter, I have experienced first hand, the depth of his faith and the faithfulness of God in our lives. He has written this incredible memoir about his life story and the conversations in this podcast is inspired by it. His middle name is Sundima, which in Mende (our tribe) means Sunday, because he was born on a Sunday; hence the name of the podcast “Sundays with Sundima”. This podcast will be used as a platform for him to share his story until his book is ready to be published. We hope you can join us on this journey as he shares the stories and experiences of his life. See you on Sundays!
