Survive the Jive on Odysee

I make history videos, mostly about ancient pagan religions. I'm a qualified historian and documentary film maker. I focus mainly on Indo-European cultures and most specifically on Germanic/Norse paganism, because I am a pagan, but I also make videos on other subjects too. Theurgy: Reaching the Gods Through Ritual

Jive Book Review of Theurgy and the Soul The Neoplatonism of Iamblichus by Gregory Shaw, Professor of Religious Studies at Stonehill College. In this work he outlines the philosophy and ritual practise of Iamblichus of Syria (ca. 240 325), whose teachings set the final form of pagan spirituality prior to the Christianization of the Roman Empire. Theurgy literally means "divine action" or "godly work"I describe how this work is useful for modern polytheists including Heathens like myself.Learn to conduct rituals here: https://startingheathenry.thinkific.com/Please support Survive the Jive: https://linktr.ee/SurvivetheJive

Why did milk loving Celts build 4000 forts? // History Documentary

Why did Celts of the British Isles build over 4000 hill forts during the Iron Age? The answer may have something to do with the conflict between those Bronze Age cowboys who maintained traditional pastoralist transhumance lifestyles, and those in the forts who depended more on arable farming. This can also explain why British Celts were the most lactose tolerant people on Earth at that time. In this documentary I visited Barbury Castle in Wiltshire, Castle an Dinas in Cornwall and several other magnificent Iron Age hill forts. Condense lengthy texts into 25 min summaries with Liegent. The Mystery Behind Odin's Role as Rune God and Galdra Master

Buy the Great Rebellion on Steam now at https://store.steampowered.com/app/2732820/The_Great_RebellionReturning to the topic of the highest god, Odin. First I address why the Romans weren't entirely wrong when they compared him to Mercury/Hermes. Then I present my theory about how Odin learned the nine sacred songs called Galdra and why this is related to his role as the god of the runes. The dankest god, Odin, and esoteric theories go together like runes and galdra. I look at the origins of runes themselves and the usage of runes in conjunction with galdra and thus seek to solve the mystery of the runes and the god who first learned them on the world tree. This channel depends on your support:Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/survivethejiveAll Links: https://linktr.ee/SurvivetheJiveBitcoin: bc1qq4x3pwvpq7kxu0ws8wm7f0yu8cuddfgl9349umSources:Snorri Sturlusson, Prose EddaPoetic Edda: Sigrdrífumál, Havamal, Voluspa, RigsthulaTacitus, GermaniaIbn Fadlan, RisalaSnorri Sturlusson, LausavísurVölsunga saga Grettir’s sagaYnglinga saga00:00 Intro01:10 the dankest god03:05 Odin and Mercury06:46 Great Rebellion sponsor08:22 Loki and Prometheus15:02 the origin of Runes24:00 Runic elites27:12 Galdr31:54 Runar and Galdra39:30 Chants preserve knowledge43:06 Sacred arts / conclusion...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9m6jHITqvc
