Terence's Take

I'm Terence Moore. You may know me as a national sports columnist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where I spent nearly 25 years. Or, you may have seen me on air as an analyst for ESPN, CNN, MSNBC, or the most watched ABC affiliate in the country: Atlanta's WSB-TV. Before all of that, I was just Terence, a young guy working for the Cincinnati Inquirer and the San Francisco Examiner. After four decades in and around the game, I've seen and heard it all. The leagues are changing, the players are changing, and you, the spectators... you're definitely changing. Players are becoming more dynamic, both on and off the field. Coaches becoming more outspoken. I've made my mission as a journalist to cut through the noise and call it like it is. So I've set out on a quest to continue my mission and deliver my take, Terence's Take, directly to the people. Join me every week at tmooresports.com where we will give a quick, no frills runthrough in the latest of sports news.

So will Antonio Brown behave this season at the Super Bowl?

Let’s face it: The Patriots are headed for their seventh Super Bowl victory. If nothing, they'll at least make the thing. Again. That's awful to think about it. Even so, The Evil Empire of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady shows no signs of having mercy on the rest of us or the National Football League. Which begs the question: How will Antonio Brown react on The Big Stage? It's not too early to consider such a thing.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

Colorful play rocks, but showboating, not so much

While rising as a superstar at 21, Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr needs to learn difference between playing with enthusiasm and resembling a clown.Folks continue to buzz on social media over Acuna admiring a home run that wasn't Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers during a game in Atlanta. The ball stayed in play, and courtesy of Acuna's nonchalant ways, he turned a double into a single.Braves manager Brian Snitker was not amused, and he yanked Acuna out of the game.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

Um, somebody warned the Raiders about Antonio Brown

So Antonio Brown wanted to go from Ben Roethlisberger and the generally good Pittsburgh Steelers to Derek Carr and the regularly struggling Oakland (almost Las Vegas) Raiders? That’s one thing.Long before that ever happens, Brown is keeping everybody in suspense over how he’ll eventually deal with this frostbite thing and this helmet thing. Frostbite?Don’t ask. The Raiders get what they deserve.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

Hey, NFL exhibition games don't count!

So what happened to all of those folks who said they weren't going to watch NFL games anymore? They're back. Then again, they never left.Nothing tells you more about the eternal power of this league than the popularity of its yearly ripoff for fans called exhibition (or preseason, if you insist) games.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

    Let's talk Madden 20

So many folks can't wait for Friday, when Madden 20 is released to the world. As a result, I huddled with David Schiele, an expert on the subject. David is a 23-year-old rising TV sportscaster in Knoxville, Tennessee at WBIR, the top television station in the market, and he has played virtually every Madden game for the last two decades. That's for starters.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

Tiger, Serena and Father (Mother) Time

Tiger Woods (golf) and Serena Williams (tennis) transformed their particular sports into something special, and they became icons along the way throughout society. Then stuff began happening for both of them. So here's the question: Can Tiger and Serena turn back the clock? Tiger teased us earlier in the year by winning the Masters, but Serena, well, do you see her in the Wimbledon Finals Saturday? Yikes!Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

Dunks? HRs? Get rid of both contests

When will baseball realize its home run derby at the All-Star Break has gotten old?The same goes for the Slam Dunk contest during NBA All-Star weekend. What’s that? Both contests still unfold before stuffed ballparks and arenas?Yes, but there are other things to consider.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

    USA! USA! USA!

Their jersey sales are through the roof.Oprah loves them. Once again, the women’s national soccer team has captured the attention of the entire nation. Heading into Tuesday’s semifinal match against England, the Americans are trying to win consecutive World Cups to increase Team USA’s already record total to four overall.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

Getting 'smoked in the face' isn't good

Since so many people are injured these days by line drives at baseball games, fans and players are putting more pressure on MLB officials to increase the netting between the stands and the field. Guess what? If you sit too close to the action at a Major League Baseball game without a net in front you, you increase your chances of getting crushed by a missile made of rawhide. You know, a baseball. I've got a solution.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

    What a terrible NBA Draft

Take it from DeShaun Tate, Mr. College Basketball. Outside of maybe RJ Barrett, the sure-thing choices are slim in Thursday's NBA draft. That includes Zion Williamson.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com

    Don't mess with the NFL

No way, the Alliance of America Football would last. In contrast, there isn’t a thing the NFL hasn’t overcome. This isn’t the 100th season of the NFL for nothing. From the retirement of all-time greats to domestic violence scandals to concussion controversies to Colin Kaepernick…Yep, the TV ratings for the league go up more often than not, and so does the revenue.Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @tmooresportsFor articles, videos, and other sports content go to tmooresports.com
