    Black Inclusion Week: In conversation with Alison Lowe

    Alison Lowe was the first black woman Leeds City Councillor, serving from 1990 to 2019, and has served as the Chief Executive of Touchstone, a mental health charity based in Leeds, since 2004.     LGBTQ+ History Month: In conversation with Jaymin Dalal

    As part of the university’s LGBTQ+ History Month, we are delighted to be able to speak to MBA alumnus Jaymin Dalal, Co-founder of Salvation Star (2007) and Bait Mumbai (2020), which provide safe space weekend LGBT+ soirees for the community in Mumbai. Jaymin has also served on the Organising Committee for Mumbai Pride (Queer Azaadi Mumbai), the largest in South Asia, since its inception in 2007 and successfully helped the committee raise funds for Pride 2019 and 2020.In this podcast, Jaymin is speaking to Professor Edgar Meyer, Deputy Dean, Leeds University Business School, and discusses his experiences and how he overcame the challenges of being a gay man in India as well as discussing his activism and support for the LGBTQ+ community.  Music created by Jahzzar under CC BY-SA 4.0, remixed, duration shortened.
