110: Praise, Degradation, and the Power of Silence

Send us Fan MailWords can command… but they can also collapse authority. In Part 2 of this conversation, Master Nick and Lady Dee continue their deep dive into the psychology of dominance—this time exploring the powerful role of praise, degradation, and silence inside a D/s dynamic. What makes a simple phrase like “good girl” trigger an intense emotional and physical response? Why do some Dominants struggle with verbal control, even when they excel physically? Cringe-worthy due to the imagined pain they HAD to have felt. Sadly, due to Lady Dee’s accident Master Nick and Lady Dee did not attend any of the educational opportunities on Saturday but were surprised at the selection of classes available at this event. In early September, they had about 5 classes, some over-lapping in times that they wanted to attend and were debating which to register for before it was no longer possible. Day 2 was a dungeon play event that comprised of multiple areas on multiple floors that had furniture set up for use. After a snafu with the start times, Master Nick arrived and was happy to watch a number of scenes including one involving whips and another with light flogging. Then, he had an opportunity to do an impact and electric scene himself with someone you’ve met on a previous episode. With Kinktasia 2025 in the books, they look forward to seeing what’s in store for 2026. Support the show

95: The DOM Life Attends Kinktasia 2025 Part 1

Send us Fan MailIn the beginning of this episode, Lady Dee gives an update on her health before Master Nick takes a moment to wish all the listeners a Happy Thanksgiving. This is the long awaited Kinktasia 2025 breakdown of events. Master Nick mentions the resignation of a key figure in the event before focusing on Day 1 where he discusses being a vendor, a breakdown of products available by other vendors, along with the performances on stage during the night. Lady Dee provides her minimal input on the event as she was only able to attend a few hours before having to leave due to her body healing – she does want a red-carpet entrance at their next event. They both were happy with the on-air conversations they had with the individuals who attended but also expressed a desire that more people would have come to speak with them. There were some amazing and talented burlesque performers, but as a result of the performances the carnival aspect of Kinktasia got lost and foot traffic was sparce reducing some of the interactive fun that was part of 2024. Sir Dancealot and Erratic Eros had an epic performance showing their development of skills in the past year along with core strength Master Nick wishes he had. This is part 1 of a two-part episode discussing Kinktasia 2025. Support the show

    94: BDSM-The Obscure & Unusual Part 2

Send us Fan MailMaster Nick and Lady Dee continue to discuss some unusual and obscure fetishes and practices recognizing they are barely scratching the surface of this topic.  Master Nick clarifies at the beginning of this episode that he had all the various body fluids on him based on his history as a Firefighter/EMT. When it comes to bodily fluids, there are some kinks they both can relate to, but some that are a little outside their comfort zone. It is important to get consent prior to participating in any BDSM activities and this is so important when participating in Somnophilia. Master Nick surprises Lady Dee with a number of activities he was aware of or participated in prior to them meeting while Lady Dee disclosed some of her porn or kinky book themes.Support the show

Then they remind listeners to come to Kinktasia and visit their vendor booth where there will be some Dom Life products as well as podcast equipment on Friday (11/14). Listen in as they discuss obscure and unusual fetishes and practices related to BDSM activities. A few like trampling, macrophilia and crushing fetishes came up in a recent conversation; while others like figging and sounding were briefly mentioned in previous episodes; but a few items like Agalmatophilia and Vore were brand new to The DOM Life team.  Master Nick tells some stories of his early sexual experiences and dark fantasies surprising Lady Dee.  Listen in as he allows listeners a peek into his dark mind.  Support the show

92: Why Submissives Submit Part 2

Send us Fan MailMaster Nick and Lady Dee continue their discussion on why submissive submit. Part II focuses on structure, tasks and rejecting tasks from a submissives perspective. Then looks at topping from the bottom, why it may be necessary, how Master Nick appreciated this at the beginning of their relationship and why as a Dom sometimes paying attention to this will allow you to be a better dominant to that submissive. As always, in a D/s dynamic, open lines of communication is a requirement for a healthy interaction. Support the show

91: Why Submissives Submit Part 1

Send us Fan MailIn this episode Lady Dee and Master Nick explore the reasons submissives submit or, in some cases, choose not to submit. What both situations can tell you about the submissive and why Dom’s should pay attention when a task is not completed as it could have a greater implication than just forgetfulness. Master Nick questions why submissives might choose to not use a safe word even when justified or expected. Lady Dee then asks question everyone has been wondering about – did you do it Master Nick???  And finally, we hope you enjoy the brief introduction to sexy AF - Dr Master Nick and crazy as can be - Loony Lady Dee. Support the show

Those natural roles still impacted their interactions with each other and others. They discuss how communication has been the saving grace of their relationship and allowed them to be stronger during this difficult time and the small steps they have taken to get back into the D/s Dynamic. Support the show

    81: AFK 3 Day Self-Tying Summit Part 2

Send us Fan MailAs a result of the joke regarding Master Nick napping, he retaliates in this episode by leaving in Lady Dee’s moment of forgetfulness to show all listeners what it’s really like living with her. Still discussing Day 1 from the A Frayed Knot 3-day Self-Tying Summit, the final two classes with RedHoneyRopes and Dirt Queen were detailed out.  RedHoneyRopes instructed the class on a chest harness as well as the Futomomo leg tie. Dirt Queen then provided the fundamentals of lower body harnesses, by having participants tie single columns on all areas of the legs and then taught a booty basket.  Day 2 of the self-tying summit was impressive with every mat and every station having a suspension rig. Mika and Lilith were forced to take point on the discussion of the classes from the second day when Master Nick heralded in the crickets.  Snapped Ginger did an amazing job covering the basics of self-suspension safety, hardpoints, where to buy equipment, rating of equipment and tying an upline.  After attendees suspended backpacks and bags, Air then covered the next step of tips and tricks for self-suspension allowing the class to interact, ask question and get feed back before suspending. This was followed up by the class from RedHoneyRopes who ties an Agura in partial suspension - Lilith was impressed with the beauty and strength of this tie. Although they were unable to attend Dirt Queen’s class on Self-tie synthesis: transitions through levels, they did hear about the class and saw picture of Dirt Queen and Air’s suspension results from labbing it out. Together they walk through some of the classes from the first day before running out of time (again).  Master Nick expresses his gratitude for the breakfast provided during the event. The first class discussed was led by Snapped Ginger getting everyone warmed up for the day and reconnecting the movement of the body with the mind, Captain Leviathan’s class was next which provided a much-needed review of the basic knots, and afterwards is Air’s class about being creative with rope and ties – it’s all about free-form.
