...if i don't remember the names, even...
how not (subjectively) knowing two main characters is delaying the writing of my next novel.
-
54
it becomes a sort of... existential dread kind of thing
an update because i finished a draft of Lockdown Lies and, while delayed, I still plan to work on Chase Two Rabbits next.
-
53
my adhd part of me wants to do too many things
updates on stitch in time, chase two rabbits, and a new script idea: lockdown lies. plus, the groundhog day project, bury your gays, michael myers minute, trashfilm, and a new podcast (maybe) idea: movie connection quiz.
-
52
fascinating me so much that i need to put them onto paper
a season finale in which i get sidetracked (while trying to talk about Chase Two Rabbits) by discussion of the capital of Gardea and the complications of trying to skin Basara into D&D 5e to run a campaign there.
-
51
and this fits with who i am as a person
realizing the repeated themes and tropes in my own writing, specifically connecting Four Finger Discount and Chase Two Rabbits. #foundfamily #outsidertrope #rambo
-
50
names that are too much earth
a few more notes on outlining Chase Two Rabbits in Miro, plus figuring out conventions for naming things in a fantasy world.
-
49
i think i know everything that has to be revealed
more plotting Chase Two Rabbits on Miro, and watching movies for inspiration.
-
48
...well, let me describe the board.
Outlining Chase Two Rabbits with virtual post it notes. With numerous references to The Big Sleep.
-
47
why do we keep reinventing the chariot?
how two episodes of Married with Children led to multiple novels, a whole mythology, and a published paper on Plato.
-
46
it needs a more detailed outline than, probably, i have ever done
outlining, Four Finger Discount, the Mountains of Consequence, The Empress of Time, Lion Horse Tree, Song of Fellfaraway, The Man with the Holes in His Hands, and now in much more detail Chase Two Rabbits.
-
45
a handful of conversations. everyone dies. the end.
my writing history, some unreleased episodes, and plans for expanding DEATH DEATH DEATH.

-
43
certain characters weren't where they were supposed to be anymore
update on changes made to DEATH DEATH DEATH going into a second draft, plus plans for Part I and Part II.
-
42
it looks cool but it's hard to say
updating many notes files for future basara stories and thinking about what project comes next.
-
41
that creates a domino effect in the other direction
Reading through DEATH DEATH DEATH and trying to replace, for example Mary Jane with Mary, Mary with Susie, but also Ed has to take up some of Mary's role and Mary Jane's role, but Mary needs to not only exist but live until the final act, so she can't be Mary Jane or Ed, and cutting or combining characters is complicated.
-
40
they don't quite finish... if you know what i mean
writer's panic, Scriptnotes, Westworld, anchronic order, Frequency, and the opening scene of DEATH DEATH DEATH.
-
39
no need to be weird... or precious
minor changes to make things make sense--olgardea, hommin, caeori--the empress of time, lion horse tree, fugue, d&d homebrew races, artistry, orson scott card and swallowing porcupines.
-
38
out of the lion's den and into the fire
combining homebrew worlds, song of fellfaraway, recent gardea history, rewriting the escalor, the godspell of gowl parrow, and chase two rabbits.
-
37
stories go as stories go
What was supposed to be a quick update about recent writing becomes a ramble about The Last Song of Whisper Blackbraid, Out of the Lion's Den and Into the Fire, Daggers of Crosswater, and The Man with the Holes in His Hands.

33
the world is a mess and there's lots of noise
talking about change, about Basara's days of the week, which leads into discussing the gods and the races and mythology of that world and still not getting to breaking down the DEATH DEATH DEATH characters.
-
32
today, i'm gonna talk about the days of the week*
thoughts about villainy and character motivation get me reviewing Disney's 'Wish' and thinking back on Friday the 13th, slasher films in general, and future notions regarding DEATH DEATH DEATH.* I never get to the days of the week in this episode
-

no one listens to this show
death death death update and suprising myself, a dream i once had and the future audience of this show, michael myers minute and obsessing about filming locations and being a good podcast guest.
-
27
it keeps the demons at bay
groundhog day project blog day 578... musicals, escapism, not universalizing your writing, method participation, home alone, fear, and nicole kidman totally plagiarized this blog entry.
-
26
my special interest that i never had
shifting titles, plans for new stories and remixing old ones, plus creole and language, and finding focus when the world is a mess.
-
25
before the faller man
sorting out my notes and characters and deciding the order of deaths for death death death. getting ready to really outline this thing and get writing.
-
24

-

that's what makes me happy
creative blocks, autistic burnout, musicals, halloween ends, and circling back to creative projects.
-
15
take the good, and keep it. leave the bad behind.
x-files and highlander scripts i wrote as a teen, and adapting old ideas and characters into new stories.
-
14
though some of the details will change along the way
the opening line, connor's father, getting past the artifice of voiceover, and justifying the use of inside information (or not)
-
13
the voiceover is aware it's talking to an audience
time loop and voiceover hand in hand, deliberate artifice, and what is going on with connor's parents?
