    Rob Huddleston of Ann Beretta

Getting to talk to Rob was a pleasure. During this talk he asked about what draws me to or what I like about the Bitter Tongues album. I had an answer but as I sat with this for a bit after the talk, I wondered what this bad has meant to me. I expressed it in a poem as this is how I express myself in life.  Please have a listen and enjoy!3 Chords, Our Truth and the Capacity we Hold in OurselvesWords un - endedExchanged in unisonHellos, goodbyes and see you later my friendsWe were all drawn to this, to scream and shout out our imperfections and frustrations, all while finding out who we areSometimes it beginsSometimes it ends Sometimes it gets picked back up againIt's a coming together of like mindsWhat you create is a gift And you have givenThe one thing I have learned over the years is that everything can shift the older we getAs to where it goes is still openI am living and embracing myself in a way I only ever dreamed of by reaching out and sharing that with whoever wants to listenI hope it can become -  what some call inspiration - to others like this Richmond punk band has done for me They have been a voice that has helped me define a relationship with the experiences I have lived in these moments that I’ve had with the music that we all share!

    Nymphidels

Episode 18 with Nymphidels. A duo with a blend of rock n roll doing it on there terms. I caught them preform at The Pour Farm Tavern in New Bedford recently and was not disappointed. Jess has this grace in her voice that pulls you in and has the guitar play into your emotions and then Pat beats the drums in a way for you to settle into and then you find yourself at the end of the EP asking for more. Please take a listen to the episode and go check them out. Do yourself a favor and go see them live.

    Consumer Culture

Episode 17 with Consumer Culture I caught Consumer Culture playing a show at Deep Cuts in Medford MA. I was blown away at the creativity and the enjoyment of them performing. Talking to them after the show I was able to see this even more. Since then I have been following them online and getting to see more of what they are about. They push themselves to challenge today’s issues in society while coming from such different background and challenging themselves on how they play. They are an enjoyment to see play live and recommend you go see them when you get the chance. Take a listen, enjoy and get out to shows!

  7. 16

    Cameran Sassman

Cameran SassmanAuthor of In Between Shoes the A Sides and the B Sides. Which are about growing up punk in a not so punk world. Being privy to the beginning of the iconic sound of 90’s alternative bands playing for beer money and a place to sleep while navigating her teenage years with high school band and the infamous City Gardens. The A sides brings you into the life starting in 1989 central jersey through the highs and lows of what she went through. The B Sides continues this journey which I am still reading now. When I first saw this book I was immediately drawn in. With the cover being a picture of a pair of docs at the fence outside of City Gardens, Trenton, NJ. Reading her books is like when you buy a record you never listened to, but you just know your gonna like it.I urge anyone who is punk from anywhere and especially if you grew up in NJ going to City Gardens. That is all of my friends back on the Jersey Shore. So take a listen and then go Buy these books and read them with great joy.

Dean! I love being able to describe music that I love and hearing other people describe it from their different experiences is such a joy. It means a lot when he tells me I turned him onto some bands. Dean and talk records of course and being old nowadays.
