The Massive Holes That School Ignore Completely

There are lots of things that make someone an athlete. This is the best way to separate those skills so that you can focus on the right things every single time. The Foundation - The subconscious skills that are active 100% of the time. You've gotta be good at these or you're finished before you begin. Problems here show up in the walls and the roof, but it almost always starts down below. The Walls - Your physical body. Some things are changeable, some things aren't. Your age, height, weight, muscle mass, body fat percentage, mobility, strength, speed, agility ect. Usually when someone says "athlete" they're only thinking about the walls. Time to expand that vision. The Roof - the sport specific skills that make or break your performance while people are looking at you. There is the most difference here between singers and traditional athletes. There isn't that much difference in the walls or the foundation.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you liked the movie, you'll LOVE the book: https://www.hnpacademy.com/halloffamesinging1 Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/triplethreatathletecrew Instagram Page: https://www.instagram.com/highnote_performance/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@highnoteperformance

    Singers are Athletes? Really??

In this episode, we're starting to look at the myths surrounding singing and athletics. It's not controvertial to say that singers are athletes anymore.....but maybe it should be. The question that people are asking is honestly a stupid question. It's not about "are singers athletes?" That question only invites nebulous other questions like "what is an athlete too you?". Maybe interesting to debate, but not useful in the practice room. The better question is "how athletic are you, singer?". Assume you're an athlete. Now become a better athlete.
