    056 - Jonah Chapter 1

Join Brooke and Tori as the DIVE (😅) into chapter 1 of Jonah! We're taking a few weeks with some "minor" prophets in the Old Testament and this guy... we've got some feelings about. Some justified... some maybe not so much. Chapter 1 opens with immediate disobedience to a direct call from the Lord. And instead of obeying, Jonah quickly says "nope!" and goes the complete opposite direction! ... crazy move for a guy who is in close communion with the creator of literally ALL things. Join the conversation and connect with us! paa.ge/theholychitchat

    054 - John 21

We’re back this week diving into John 21, and wow… this chapter hits in a quiet but convicting way. (I mean... WE'RE not quiet...) It’s not the big, dramatic moments of the resurrection—it’s the after. The everyday. The going-back-to-what’s-familiar kind of moments. We talk about the disciples returning to fishing and how relatable that is. When life feels uncertain or we don’t know what’s next, how easy is it to slip back into old habits, old mindsets, or just what feels comfortable? Then comes one of the most powerful scenes: Jesus meeting them on the shore, cooking breakfast (yes, Jesus making breakfast is a whole moment), and gently restoring Peter. No shame. No lecture. Just grace—and a question that cuts straight to the heart: “Do you love me?” That leads us into a real and honest conversation about how we can unintentionally deny Jesus in our own lives. Not always in loud, obvious ways—but in the small choices, the compromises, the moments we stay silent, or when our actions don’t line up with what we say we believe. This episode is both a mirror and an invitation. A reminder that we’re all capable of falling short—but also that Jesus always meets us there, calls us back, and invites us forward. So whether you’ve been feeling distant, distracted, or just stuck in routine—this conversation is for you. Grab your coffee, come hang out with us, and let’s chat about what it really looks like to follow Jesus… even when it’s hard, even when we mess up. Connect with us: paa.ge/theholychitchat

    053 - John 19-20

This week on The Holy Chit-Chat, we’re walking through some of the most powerful and emotional chapters in the Gospel of John. Chapters 19 and 20. Yep… we’re talking about the cross and the empty tomb. We sit in the weight of Jesus’ crucifixion—what it meant, what He endured, and the love that held Him there. It’s heavy, it’s humbling, and it’s something we probably don’t pause to fully take in enough. But the story doesn’t end there… We also celebrate the moment everything changed. When the tomb was found empty and hope came rushing back in. We talk about Mary’s encounter with Jesus (and how relatable her confusion and grief feel), Thomas’ doubts, and how Jesus meets people right where they are. Of course, we take a few side roads along the way processing what this means for us today. This episode is a mix of reflection, real talk, and a reminder that even in the darkest moments… Sunday is coming. Connect with us: paa.ge/theholychitchat

    052 - John 17-18

This week, we’re diving into John 17–18… and let’s just say, we tried to stay on track 😅 (spoiler: we didn’t always succeed). But honestly? The rabbit trails made this conversation even richer. In John 17, we get a front-row seat to one of the most powerful prayers ever prayed—Jesus praying not just for His disciples, but for us. Yes, YOU. We unpack what it means that Jesus prayed for our unity, our protection, and our purpose long before we were even here. It’s personal, it’s powerful, and it might just hit you in a whole new way. Then in John 18, things shift as Jesus is betrayed and arrested. Even in the tension and heartbreak of these moments, we see His authority, His peace, and His unwavering commitment to the mission. Somewhere along the way, we take a few unexpected detours (as usual), but every tangent circles back to the beauty of who Jesus is and what He’s calling us into. Have some things you want to say? 051 - John 13-16

In this episode of The Holy Chit-Chat, we walk through John chapters 13–17—some of the most intimate and powerful moments of Jesus’ ministry before the cross. (We also hop on a bit of a soap box towards the end of the episode 😅) We start in the upper room, where Jesus flips expectations by washing His disciples’ feet, modeling radical humility and servant-hearted love. From there, we unpack His command to “love one another,” and what that truly looks like in our everyday lives. As the conversation continues, we dive into Jesus’ farewell discourse—His encouragement to the disciples, the promise of the Holy Spirit, and the reminder that even in trouble, we are never alone. These chapters are full of comfort, truth, and a call to remain rooted in Him. Join the chat: paa.ge/theholychitchat

    050 - John 11 & 12

In this milestone 50th episode of The Holy Chit-Chat, we dive into John 11 & 12—two powerful chapters that remind us who Jesus is and what He came to do. We talk through the story of Lazarus and how Jesus meets us in our grief, our waiting, and even in what feels impossible. There’s so much to unpack about faith, timing, and trusting God when it doesn’t make sense. Then in John 12, we see beautiful moments of worship, obedience, and the tension building as Jesus moves closer to the cross. And to make this episode even more special—it drops the day before Brooke’s birthday! 🎂 So we take a moment to celebrate, reflect, and share a little extra joy together. Whether you’re walking through a hard season or just wanting to grow deeper in your faith, this conversation is full of encouragement and truth. 💬 We’d love to hear from you! 047 - John 4

We're diving back into the book of John with chapter 4! And it holds SUCH an amazing story with the woman at the well, living water and food that satisfies like nothing else, and the officer whose son was sick. And best of all... Jesus in every bit of it. How many times do we think, that person is too far gone, or, I'm just not good enough for Jesus right now. Welp... you're wrong 🤷🏼‍♀️ And this chapter is proof of that. So let's chat. We're jumping into the book of John and we are PUMPED! And we're not one to play favorites but... this is one of our favorite books. lol At the beginning of the book, John doesn’t begin with the birth of Jesus. He begins with eternity: “In the beginning was the Word…” As we head towards Easter, join in the conversation and read the book of John along with us. Connect with us: paa.ge/theholychitchat

044 - Our Stories for His Glory: Tori

Episode 044 starts a little series of "Our Stories for His Glory" and we're diving into Tori's testimony! It's heavy and real. From growing up Jewish, to walking the world's way, to jumping into a ministry with both feet that evolved into a "cult" (😳), to getting out, and how Jesus was right there through it all. It's a wild ride. But it's one of faith through the toughest time. Join the conversation: http://paa.ge/theholychitchat

043 - 6 Steps to Sharing Your Testimony

What should it look like to share your testimony? Especially when you're sharing the Gospel? Let's chat about what that looks like. It's actually way easier than you think. And regardless of how "good" you think your story is, your story is yours and brings glory to God. It's not about us, it's about Jesus and what he's done in our lives. And ultimately, our purpose of our testimony is to share Jesus. As Matthew West says in his song, "my story, Your glory" 🙌🏼 As you listen, take a look at these steps from The Gospel Coalition: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/sharing-your-testimony/ What seems to be the hardest part for you when it comes to sharing your testimony? 042 - How Do I Share the Gospel?!

We're back!!! After our break, we start back with episode 42 talking about how on earth we share the gospel. If you're a new christian or a long time christian, our call is the same... share the gospel. But how? Josh joins us in chatting about what sharing the gospel looks like and how it can look a little different for each person. Have some thoughts? 041 - Merry Christmas!

🎄 It's Christmas time!!!!!! Read and unpack Luke 2 with us and let's talk about a little different of a perspective on Christmas... Maybe... just MAYBE... we've taken this holiday a little too far 😬 because it's definitely not all those cliché Christmas words we throw around like "peace" and "joy" and "calm". It's become more like "chaos" and "stress" and "obligation" 🫠 Join in the conversation and let's talk about it. One link for all the places: paa.ge/theholychitchat

    040 - Genesis 48-50: Finishing Up Genesis!

This is it! The last few chapters in Genesis! In this episode, we finish up Genesis with chapters 48, 49, and 50. We've spent a lot of time in the first book of the Bible and it's been a great ride. We've learned a LOT (and have gotten real distracted 😅) along the way but it has been awesome diving into the Word in greater depth than we have before. Don't miss this chat about the last bit of the first book of the Bible! 039 - Even If

In this episode, we really try to lock down that "even if" mindset. Which... isn't easy. In fact... it's one of the most difficult things we wrestle with as christians. We think our plans are better and when they don't work out how WE want them to, we not exactly happy campers. But hear us out... what if we changed our thinking to "even if it doesn't happen the way I think it should, God will still work all things for His glory." AND He may have something down the road that goes beyond what your little human brain could have ever dreamed up. Join the chat. Listen and connect with us on all our socials. 038 - Genesis 46 & 47: Travel Day(s), Abominations, and Blessings

Let's dive into Genesis 46 and 47!!! We are at the end of Genesis and... the end of Jacob's life 😬 During this episode we talk about Jacob's big 'ol family traveling to Egypt, the wild emotional reunion with his son he thought was dead for 20+ year 😳, where they settled, and how God provided ALL the things plus some! But what's crazy is that even though Jacob and his family (the Hebrews) were an "abomination" to the Egyptians, Pharaoh had so much respect for Joseph that he wanted to bless his whole family with the absolute BEST of the land of Egypt. THAT is what respect looks like... even when you majorly dislike someone, that doesn't mean you get to treat them like dirt 🤷🏼‍♀️ So join the conversation! 037 - A Pinball Machine of an Episode

The girls are back together in this one!!!! 🥳 And you can tell it's been a few minutes 😂 It may seem there are rabbit trails abundant, but we've got a lot on our minds and a lot to unpack. In this episode we dive into allowing the Lord to work in His timing. He always knows what's ahead and has a plan for us even if we don't see it. Sometimes he lays it out in front of us and it can be a little scary. But we've got to take the Spirit out of the box we seemed to have put Him in and let him work in and through us. Life is hard... but man is it a lot better with people beside you to unpack all the junk...   Connect with us: https://paa.ge/theholychitchat

    036 - Genesis 45: "The Big Reveal"

In this episode of The Holy Chit-Chat, Josh from "Good Morning Josh" podcast is with us again to dive into Genesis 45. Joseph finally reveals his true identity to his brothers. After years of separation, heartache, and testing, this moment is filled with emotion, grace, and the unmistakable hand of God. We talk about: The power of forgiveness even after deep betrayal How Joseph’s faith shaped his response to his brothers The reminder that God’s plans are always bigger than our pain What reconciliation looks like when it’s led by love, not pride Plus the beloved rabbit trails This chapter is a beautiful picture of redemption — not just for Joseph’s family, but for all of us who’ve seen God turn hurt into healing. 🎧 Listen in as we unpack how Joseph’s story challenges us to let go, forgive, and trust that God is working behind the scenes for good. 034 - Halloween Origins and Our Response as Christians

👻 Halloween didn't just pop out of nowhere. It actually has a pretty complicated past (... me too Halloween... me too 😅). And it's not always looked like it does today. Take a little time travel trip with us as we talk and learn about the origins of one of the world's biggest holidays. And yes, of course it looks a bit different around the world. Not everyone knocks on doors for candy and sorts their candy into categories when they get home (... wait... you don't do that?! 🫠). Some call it by different names. Like "All Saint's Day". But it still has the same origin. Join us as we dig into the changes the holiday has made over the years and how we as Christians are to respond. And spoiler... not all Christians are called to respond the same 😳 Curious on what we mean by that? You should definitely listen and see if you agree. 033 - Genesis 43: The Bros are Back in Town

We’re back with Joseph’s story — and things are starting to heat up 👀🔥 In this chapter, the famine continues and Jacob finally lets his sons return to Egypt (with Benjamin this time 😬). There’s tension, emotion, and a whole lot of awkward family dynamics as the brothers stand before Joseph again — still not knowing who he really is! We talk about: ✨ The brothers’ guilt and growth ✨ Joseph’s compassion (and his tears 😢) ✨ How God’s plans keep moving even when people are scared or stubborn It’s a mix of drama, heart, and hope — and as always, we find those little nuggets that remind us God is faithful through every twist and turn. 032 - Done With Being a "Soft Christian" & Genesis 42

In this episode we take the first bit to talk about how we as christians have to stop being doormats and letting the world walk all over us. We can be bold and courageous while still being gentle and loving. But it's time to get out of our comfort zones.  Then it's a quick flip in continuing on in Genesis 42 where we return to Joseph's story and see a glimpse of the start of a beautiful redemption story. 031 - Genesis 40 & 41: "You Dream and I'll Tell You What it Means"

This episode of The Holy Chit-Chat, we’re diving into Genesis 40 and 41 — the part where Joseph goes from prison to palace faster than you can say “Pharaoh had a weird dream.” 💤👑 We talk about Joseph interpreting the cupbearer’s and baker’s dreams (RIP baker 😬), then finally getting his big break when Pharaoh himself starts dreaming about cows and corn. 🌽🐄 Join us as we unpack: How God’s timing never misses — even when it feels like we’re forgotten 🕰️ The symbolism in Pharaoh’s dreams and what they teach us about preparation and purpose And of course, what it means to stay faithful when life keeps throwing plot twists Grab your coffee, Bible, and a sense of humor — because you know we can’t stay serious for long ☕😅

  27. 29

030 - Genesis 39: Being Quiet When They Lie About You

EPISODE 30!!!!! Dive into a conversation with about how God is just wild in the things He does and how He works. And read and talk about Genesis 39 with us. Joseph is riding a roller coaster of highs and lows in his life and this is one pretty big low. When "she" lies about him, he's just got to take it on the chin, take the undeserving consequence, and move on. As always, we want you to reach out with your thoughts, questions, or just to chat. But especially reach out if you need a bible! Email us at [email protected] or DM us on one of our socials (Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok)!

029 - Genesis 38: "Plot Twist! You're the Baby Daddy!"

Buckle up, friends—Genesis 38 is one wild chapter. This week, we’re talking Judah, Tamar, and some seriously awkward family drama. It’s the kind of story that makes you say, “Wait… THIS is in the Bible?!” We’ll unpack how Tamar flips the script, why Judah should maybe rethink his life choices, and how God still works through messy, complicated people (excellent news for the rest of us). It’s juicy, it’s ancient, and it’s a little bit soap opera—but it’s also full of truth about justice, courage, and grace. Grab your coffee and get ready to laugh, gasp, and maybe even rethink what you thought you knew about Genesis. And on a serious note... if there's something we can pray for you about or just something you want/need to chat about, reach out to us on one of our socials (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) or send us an email at [email protected] We love you and we're praying for you!

028 - Too Heavy to Not Talk About

Let's make this simple... stuff sucks, the church is waking up, it’s time to go tell people about Jesus, and start following the leading of the Holy Spirit. This was one heavy week that sparked all the feels. And we can still laugh and enjoy chatting because God is still on the throne and Jesus is still so good day after day regardless of the situation. 026 - Genesis 36 and Starting a Chat about Feminism

In this episode of The Holy Chit-Chat, we read through Genesis 36—Esau’s family tree—and tbh... struggle through some name pronunciations... in the most hilarious way 😅 From there, we shift into a real and honest conversation about feminism: what it means, how it’s been twisted over the years, and why it’s worth talking about together. This one isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating space for questions, stories, and maybe even some “aha” moments. So grab a cup of coffee (or tea!) and join us for the conversation. Let’s keep it holy, but also keep it real.

  32. 24

    025 - Sparking Some Controversy (Part 2)

Last week in Episode 24 we started chatting about some controversial topics that are just the societal "norms". This week we're continuing that conversation and diving in deeper and going a bit heavier. We'd encourage you to go back and listen to the previous episode (Part 1) before listening to this one. It's a conversation you don't want to miss and we want you in on it. What do you think? Are we just nutty? Or maybe we're onto something... You listen. You decide.

  33. 23

024 - Genesis 35 and Sparking Some Controversy (Part 1)

In this episode, we start by walking through Genesis 35, unpacking Jacob’s journey back to Bethel, the significance of putting away idols, and what this passage reveals about God’s faithfulness and covenant promises. From there, we shift gears into a conversation that might step on a few toes (or all of them 😬): the importance of discerning what we’re watching, listening to, and letting entertain us. What we consume shapes our hearts and minds more than we realize, and as believers, we’re called to be set apart. We talk about music, movies, shows, podcasts, and social media—and why it all matters for our spiritual health. It’s a little controversial, a little convicting, and (hopefully) a lot encouraging as we wrestle through this together. Let’s connect: If this episode spoke to you—or challenged you—we’d love to hear your thoughts. Share your takeaways, questions, or even disagreements with us! 023 - Genesis 34: Misfortune, Retaliation, and Reconciliation

In this episode of The Holy Chit-Chat, we dive into the heavy and heartbreaking chapter of Genesis 34, where we witness what happens when people take justice into their own hands instead of trusting God’s timing and plan. We talk about the choices made by Jacob's sons in response to Dinah’s tragedy—and how, even when our motives feel justified, stepping ahead of God often leads to destruction, regret, and fallout that affects more than just ourselves. This chapter is raw, emotional, and full of hard truths, but it also offers us a powerful reminder: God is not absent in our pain, and He is always working—whether we see it or not. Join us for honest conversation, personal reflection, and a reminder to surrender our desire for control and let God do what only He can. 🗣️ Listen, share, and let us know what stood out to you! #HolyChitChat #Genesis34 #FaithOverControl #LetGodWork #BibleStudyPodcast

In this week’s episode of The Holy Chit-Chat, we dive into Genesis chapters 32 and 33, where Jacob finds himself between a rock and a hard place—on one side, the fear of facing his brother Esau after years of deceit, and on the other, a mysterious all-night wrestling match with God Himself. We talk about what it meant for Jacob to wrestle with God, and how these chapters show the power of reconciliation, humility, and transformation. Spoiler: Jacob gets a new name and a limp, and Esau isn't the villain we expected. As always, there are a few unexpected rabbit trails along the way, but hey—that's how we roll. 🎧 Grab your Bible, your coffee, and let’s get into it!

In this episode, we dive into one of the wildest family dynamics in Scripture—Jacob, Leah, Rachel, and the complicated, messy story of love, jealousy, and legacy. We read through Genesis 29–30:24 and unpack the heartbreak of being chosen last, the danger of comparison, and how God still moves in broken families and fractured relationships. Leah's longing, Rachel’s rivalry, and Jacob’s dysfunction are all on full display—but so is God's faithfulness.

019 - Genesis 28:6-22: Crazy Dreams and Finding Your People

📖 “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” – Genesis 28:16 In this episode of The Holy Chit-Chat, we’re unpacking Genesis 28:6–22—where Jacob, fleeing his family and sleeping under the stars, has a powerful dream from God. It’s a turning point for him spiritually, a reminder that even in the middle of nowhere, God sees us, speaks to us, and has a plan for us. But what stands out just as much is what Jacob doesn’t have in this moment: full commitment (... he uses that little "if" word 🤔). But we’re not just talking about Jacob’s encounter—we’re digging into something we all need to hear: the importance of having the right people around us. We talk about how crucial it is to be surrounded by friends and mentors who will lift you up, encourage you in your walk with Jesus, and hold you accountable when you need it most. 🌱 We’ll explore questions like: – Who’s in your circle? – Are your relationships helping you grow deeper with God—or pulling you away? – What does true, godly accountability look like? Whether you're building your faith or rebuilding from rock bottom, this episode is a reminder that we were never meant to do life alone. 🙌 Tune in, take a breath, and let’s chit-chat about growing in faith together. 💬 Connect with us: Follow us on Instagram and Facebook @theholychitchat Share this episode with someone who encourages you!

Join us as we unpack: Why Rebekah may have felt justified in helping Jacob deceive Isaac What this story says about favoritism, trust, and God's sovereignty The long-term impact this moment had on Jacob, Esau, and their descendants Plus, we throw in a few laughs (because you know we can't help ourselves), and challenge you with some questions to reflect on your own family dynamics and trust in God's plan—even when it feels upside down. 017 - Genesis 26: Déjà vu (Again!), Water Rights, and Peace Talks

Hey hey, chit-chatters! This week we’re digging (literally and spiritually) into Genesis 26, where Isaac is retracing his father Abraham’s footsteps—and not always in a good way. First up, can we talk about the wild déjà vu moment when Isaac tells Abimelek that Rebekah is his sister instead of his wife? Sound familiar? That’s because it’s the exact same stunt his dad Abraham pulled with the same king! After the king discovers the truth, he send Isaac away and he starts digging some serious roots—and also re-digging some wells. But it’s not just about ancient water rights. This chapter gets us thinking: 💭 How do we respond when people don’t listen to us? 💭 How do we treat those who disagree with us, even when we’re trying to help? As Isaac faces conflict, rejection, and tension over and over again, we explore how his peaceful responses challenge us today. From moving on instead of fighting to trusting God for provision, there’s a lot of wisdom in this dusty old chapter. We also share some real talk about what it looks like when you’re trying to give someone good advice or point them toward truth—and they just… won’t take it. Whether it's a family member, a friend, or someone you're mentoring, we talk about how to stay gracious, not get bitter, and keep digging the wells God has for you. In this episode: 🔹 "I'm just like my dad" -Isaac 🔹 Isaac’s conflict with the Philistines and Abimelek 🔹 The tension between truth and peace 🔹 How to walk away without giving up 🔹 What to do when you're not being heard 🔹 Learning to trust God to vindicate and provide So grab your coffee (or your camel water jug), and let’s get into it. 📖 Scripture Focus: Genesis 26 💬 Don’t forget to rate, share, and let us know: How do you handle it when someone doesn’t listen to you?

016 - Genesis 25: Twins, Trades, and a Side of Stew

Hey hey, Chit-Chatters! We’ve got a special treat for you this week—guest host alert! Joining us is none other than one of the Josh's from Good Morning Josh (aka your favorite morning duo with a caffeine addiction and a gift for hilarity). That’s right—we’re tag-teaming Genesis 25 with a fresh voice in the mix, bringing extra insight, laughs, and maybe a controversial take on lentil stew. This chapter is PACKED. We say goodbye to Abraham (cue the montage), meet Ishmael’s boy-band-sized family tree, and then dive into the ultimate sibling smackdown: Jacob and Esau, fighting from inside the womb all the way to a stew-soaked birthright betrayal. We chit about: 🍼 Ishmael’s 12 sons—biblical overachiever vibes ⚰️ Abraham’s final farewell 👶 Jacob and Esau: the womb-wrestling twins 🍲 Esau’s birthright-for-stew moment (bless his hungry heart) 🤷‍♂️ What birthrights actually meant—and why stew probably wasn’t worth it 🗣️ And a little "discussion" on exaggeration. With one of the Joshs from Good Morning Josh on the mic, you know it’s gonna be a good time. Expect laughs, perspective, and probably a snack craving by the end.

015 - Genesis 24: High Standards, Camel Watering, and Nose Rings

Hey hey, chit-chatters! Grab your travel snacks and your best servant heart because we’re heading out on a matchmaking mission in Genesis 24! This chapter is basically the OG rom-com: a faithful servant, a long journey, a well-side meet-cute, and—wait for it—camel hydration as a love language. In this episode, we chit about: 🐪 The servant’s mission to find Isaac a wife (no pressure or anything) 🙏 His very specific prayer—and how God immediately shows up 💧 Rebekah’s next-level hospitality (and arm strength?) 💍 What it means to set high standards and trust God with the rest 👀 And yes, our first real glimpse of Laban’s flair for drama This chapter isn’t just about finding “the one”—it’s about listening to God, acting in faith, and remembering that it’s okay to be a little picky when it comes to your people. If Rebekah can check all the boxes and water 10 camels, we can raise the bar a bit too, right? So press play and let’s chit-chat about the God who orchestrates every detail—even the romantic ones.

014 - Genesis 23: Death and Land Deeds

Genesis 23 Hey hey, chit-chatters! We’re back with Episode 14, and today we’re heading into Genesis 23—aka the one where Sarah passes away (cue the sad violin) and Abraham becomes a first-time landowner. Yep, there’s grief, there’s real estate, and there’s a surprisingly heartfelt lesson in buying a burial plot. It might not sound like the most exciting chapter, but trust us—this one’s got layers. Like, ancient-Middle-Eastern-customs-meet-God’s-promises kind of layers. What’s inside the chit-chat: Sarah dies 😢 (but don’t worry—we’re handling it with love and maybe a few light jokes) Abraham negotiates like a boss for a cave in Hebron Why this land deal is actually a huge faith move And how to hold onto hope, even when you’re holding a funeral Themes we’re gently poking at: 🪦 Grief (it’s real, but we don’t have to be weird about it) 🧾 Paperwork and promises 📍God giving a GPS pin to the future homeland Abraham’s buying a tomb, but really, he’s making a statement: God’s promises are still on the table. Even in death, there’s faith. Even in loss, there’s legacy. And also—he probably overpaid for that cave. (But hey, it’s for Sarah.) 📖 Wanna read along? Check out Genesis 23 💬 Come say hi on socials! Grab a snack, pull up a chair, and let’s chit-chat.

    013 - Genesis 22: Awkward Father-Son Camping Trip

Welcome to The Holy Chit-Chat, where we talk theology with a little sass and a lot of snacks (yes... we have so many snacks 😅). In Episode 13, we're diving into one of the Bible’s biggest “WAIT, HOLD UP” moments — Genesis 22, a.k.a. that time God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac and Abraham... actually went for it?! 😳 Yeah, that chapter. We talk tests of faith, divine drama, and what it means to really trust God when the stakes are literally your child’s life (no pressure, Abe). Plus, we ask the big questions: Why did God ask Abraham to do something so extreme? Was Isaac just chill with this whole thing? (... did he get therapy after this?) What’s up with the ram in the bushes — coincidence or God’s divine DoorDash? And how in the world does this story point straight to Jesus? It’s serious stuff, but you know we’re keeping it real, wrestling with the hard parts, and probably making a few too many sarcastic comments along the way. Classic Holy Chit-Chat vibes. Scripture Highlight: Genesis 22 Theme: Faith, trust, awkward father-son camping trips Spiritual Snack: God provides. Always. Even when it looks nothing like what we expect.   💥 Holy Extras: Read along in Genesis 22 Also check out: Hebrews 11 (the faith flex chapter), James 2, and John 1:29 Book shoutout: From Eden to Egypt by Alex Duke — great if you love digging deeper and sarcasm with a touch of random   🙌 Let’s Get Loud Got thoughts? 012 - Genesis 20-21: Deja Vu, Family Drama, and God's Goodness

Hey peeps! We’re back with Episode 12 of The Holy Chit-Chat, and this week we're unpacking Genesis 20 and 21—aka that time Abraham repeated the same lie and God still came through big time. 😅 Here’s the gist: In Genesis 20, Abraham pulls the ol’ “She’s my sister” move again (seriously, Abe?), and somehow ends up looking like the less righteous guy in the room. We get into how fear messes with faith—and how God steps in anyway. Then in Genesis 21, it finally happens: Isaac is born! Cue the laughter, joy, and… some serious family drama. We talk about Sarah’s side-eyes, Hagar’s heartbreak, and how God sees everyone—even when they’re cast out. We chat about: Why does Abraham keep lying about Sarah?  The weirdly gracious way God shows up for people who don’t deserve it (lookin’ at you, Abe). What Sarah’s laughter tells us about waiting, disbelief, and finally seeing God’s promise. The raw, gut-punch moment Hagar and Ishmael are sent away—and how God meets them right in the wilderness. What this whole messy family situation says about God’s bigger plan—and His heart for the outsiders. Abraham and Abimelech making land sharing official with a treaty—yes, your boy finally handles conflict like a grown-up. Major vibes this episode: God is faithful, even when we repeat dumb mistakes. Laughter and pain can coexist. Nobody is forgotten—not even in the wilderness. 🗣️ Wanna Chat Back? 011 - Genesis 19: Sodom, Salt, and Seriously Messed Up

Hey friends! Welcome back to The Holy Chit-Chat — your weekly walk through the weird, wild, and sometimes what-on-earth stories of the Bible. This week, we're diving into Genesis 19, and let us tell you… this one’s heavy. We’re talking fire from the sky, a city gone wild, angels showing up like secret agents, Lot being kind of the worst, and a wife who turns into salt because she looked over her shoulder. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, the last few verses are some of the most uncomfortable in all of Genesis (yeah… we talk about that too). In this episode: Why were the men of Sodom so obsessed with the visitors? What was Lot thinking offering up his daughters? Why did God destroy the city and only save Lot and his family? What's up with Lot’s wife, and is “looking back” really about glancing behind you? And yes… we go there with the cave scene at the end. We had to. We know—it’s a lot. But we’re here to read it honestly, wrestle with it openly, and see what God might be saying through it all. Key takeaway? Even when everything’s on fire, literally and metaphorically, God still extends mercy. Sometimes it looks like angels dragging you out of town by the hand. 🔥 Heads-up: This episode deals with mature themes—might not be the best one for little ears. 📝 Read along: Genesis 19 📬 Drop us a line: [email protected] 📱 Follow us: @TheHolyChitChatPodcast on Instagram and @TheHolyChit-Chat on Facebook Thanks for tuning in. 010 - Genesis 17-18: Holy Snips, Unannounced Dinner Guests, a Silly Baby Announcement, and a Pretty Bold Ask

Ten episodes in and we’re still somehow unsupervised. 🙃 This week, we’re cracking open Genesis 17 and 18—where God shows up with some big promises, Abraham gets a new name and a very sharp command (literally), and Sarah finds out she’s gonna be a mom at 90... and laughs in God's face. (Bold move ma'am.) Here’s what’s going down: God tells Abraham, “Walk before me faithfully”—and then immediately follows that with, “Oh, and every male needs to be circumcised.” 🧍‍♂️✂️ Wait, WHAT?! Sarah gets the world’s most delayed pregnancy announcement, and her response? Sarcastic laughter. Girl, same but... you're talking to God... Three mysterious visitors drop in like ancient Uber Eats customers, and Abraham throws a very extra dinner party. Plus, as always, we go on some truly unhinged rabbit trails, including: Brooke's learnings from some pretty smart dudes over the past week. How that circumcision thing may have gone. And a pretty bold conversation with the Lord Scripture Reading: Genesis 17–18 Vibes: Half theology, half comedy, all heart, and some holy chaos. 👉 If you laughed, learned, or cringed a little—you're our kind of people. 008 - Jesus Didn't Rise For Just One Sunday

This special "mid-week" episode on The Holy Chit-Chat, we're diving into the aftermath of Easter Sunday and asking the big question: Are we putting enough emphasis on what Easter really means? Spoiler alert—probably not. In this episode, we talk about: Why Easter shouldn't be a one-Sunday-a-year kind of thing How inviting people to church should be a lifestyle, not just a holiday move Why scare tactics and "hellfire and brimstone" approaches do WAY more harm than good The power of real genuine community in the church matters for spiritual growth Why having people who challenge your faith are actually a really great thing And how the crucifixion and resurrection story should be on repeat throughout the year—not just read once and shelve it for next Easter It’s a laid-back but honest convo about how Easter should shape our everyday lives, not just our Sunday outfits. So whether you’re still snacking on chocolate eggs or already moved on, grab your coffee (or whatever you're sipping) and hang out with us—we’re talking real faith, real growth, and how to keep the resurrection front and center all year long. 🎧 Tune in, reflect, and maybe rethink how you approach both your faith and your community.
