    Marieme was 17 years old when she left her native Senegal to continue her studies in Paris and London.Through her story, we learn about the value and importance of having a community and support system. For her and her peers, learning to be open and trusting in others was one of the various ways they found strength and comfort. We then discuss her many experiences with cultural shocks, individualism, self-awareness, and self-discovery.
