8. So-and-so would love it here
“I fit here. I don’t have to be thinking about anything else other than having fun.” In this our final episode, both Sarah and Dean are sitting at the table talking to another couple, Claire and Darren, valued members of the La Luna fam. It’s a big love-fest for La Luna Social Club, and why not? Has La Luna made Darren more funky? Which track makes Claire go bonkers? “It feels like a mini-festival where everybody’s welcome,” says Claire, which delighted us because we can’t think of a better way of describing it!Find out more on social – @lalunasocialclub – and buy tickets for La Luna Social Club at www.wegottickets.com/laluna. 6. Can’t get off the dancefloor
Stuart, it’s fair to say, is one of our more flamboyant La Luna regulars, with stories to tell. He has many affirming things to say about La Luna Social Club’s inclusivity. “Even though we all dress up like spectacular shining stars you can come in your tweed suit if you like.” “It shows what Sheffield can do,” says Stuart, “and we need more of it.” Amen.Find out more on social – @lalunasocialclub – and buy tickets for La Luna Social Club at www.wegottickets.com/laluna. 5. The Cavendish Hug
Dean talks to Claire, one of the key people at Cavendish Cancer Care centre (and a La Luna regular ever since we supported Cavendish in early 2024). Cavendish have been an amazing resource for people whose lives have been affected by cancer, both the sufferers and the family/loved ones who are supporting them. “Why not have someone walk by the side of you as you’re going through that incredibly tough experience?” says Claire. Find out why community is a common theme for both Cavendish and La Luna Social Club. “It’s about belonging and it’s about connection.”Find out more on social – @lalunasocialclub – and buy tickets for La Luna Social Club at www.wegottickets.com/laluna. 4. Hedonism, escapism, sparkly feathers, sequins
Sarah talks to two of our most loyal supporters, friends Stella and Gillian. And oh boy do they have some amazing things to say about our club night! Stella remembers the first event after Covid when “to see people’s faces light up when the music came on – it was beautiful!” “Just enough hedonism, escapism, sparkly feathers, sequins to see you through to the next one,” says Gillian. “Anything that’s bothering you, put it one side. It’s where the grown-ups go to play. It’s special. It’s really special.” Amen!Find out more on social – @lalunasocialclub – and buy tickets for La Luna Social Club at www.wegottickets.com/laluna. 3. Mums In Need
The is the first of our podcasts to look at the beneficiaries – the charities who receive donations from La Luna Social Club profits. In this episode, Sarah talks to Laura and Antony of Mums In Need, a fantastic charity supporting women who have left an abusive relationship. It’s a unique charity – as a “lived experience led” organisation, they understand the long-term issues and the effects on children.
