This episode marks the 80th Anniversary of V.J. Day on August 15th 1945. In this episode holocaust survivor, Agnes Kaposi, remembers working in hard labour in Vienna when she was 12 years old, Katrin Ebersohn reads from Woman in Berlin, Libet Williams reads from White Among the Reds, all memoirs from the end of World War 2 in Europe, and the front in India, Burma, and the Far East, and the dropping of the first atom bomb, are remembered through the diaries of Alfred Doulton written in 1945. We are excited to launch the last episode of our Autumn podcast series focusing on Deafness with a transcription. This episode focuses on Beethoven for his 250th Birth Anniversary and his own deafness. Valerie is also going to talk about her own personal journey with some of Beethoven’s music.
