The Streaming Steamers

We’ve decided to close out this version of the Streaming Steamers with a final chat about our mate - House. Schischka, Bright, Lollback, Giblin and Raynes kick the can along as we reminisce about House from his arrival at the Steamers. It gets a bit loose and we sort of lose track but so be it.Although it’s the final episode in this series we have extended the offer to some of the younger Steamers to step up and take over the podcast. There’s a myriad of untold stories around the Steamers and hopefully it continues in some format or other :)

Hooker, Player, President, Premier. He was there when the Berlin Wall collapsed, watched the construction of the Panama Canal, advised the pharaohs on the construction of the pyramids. But his greatest achievement was to sing Sunshine Mountain at the Mangoplah Hotel incessantly until everyone was standing on chairs and had their pants around their ankles….The veritable Justin Clancy.

The Steamers new SuperCoach gives us a great intro to his background, we chat about his preferred game plan, hopes for the year and even some of the players to fill his 3-2-1. We also get some insight into the first game of the season against Griffith, maybe even some thoughts on pre-game and half time inspiration from our new SuperCoach.

T-Row displays amazing recall skills, recanting in detail scores from games way in the distant past. We spend some time exploring his extraordinarily heroic (his words) effort to play the 2014 Grand Final with 2 broken hands. Our longest podcast yet, probably worthy of a follow-up one day…

The indefatigable, unbeatable, irascible Mr McGlone is back for round 2. The big fella dug deep into his cranial archives and extracted some gold for us. On a serious note, Mick had just had a bit of a spin - but in true Steamer spirit he insisted on showing up for his 2nd episode.

House shows his love for Wallabies rugby by naming his go to 15 to win the next World Cup, Mick offers some guidance and creativity. We expect Smoking Joe Schmidt (still listed on Wikipedia as an Irish coach) to reach out and ask us for further guidance.

The better Le Cornu, bullet proof after the game, not so much during the game. Reece talks about his long career with the Steamers, his move into coaching, but more importantly passes on some fantasy rugby tips for the fanatics.
