Red Flag Warning | Texas Weather 6 AM

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast. It's Thursday, February 26th.. And February apparently thinks it's June. Folks, step outside right now. You're already at 63 degrees. That's your morning. By this afternoon, South Texas is gunning for 97 degrees. Ninety seven. That's 51 degrees above normal and flirting with the all-time February record set back in 1996. Your thermometer might need therapy. Down along the Gulf Coast, you're waking up to 67 degrees with southwest winds gusting to 30 miles an hour. Partly sunny skies push you to 83 this afternoon. Tonight eases to 64 degrees. And fog rolls in after 10 P.M. near the water. South Texas is the furnace today. You're at 59 degrees now, but sunny skies and light winds crank you to 97 degrees by mid afternoon. Tonight settles to 62 under clear skies. Drink water like it's July. Slide up to Central Texas and you're starting at 60 degrees. Sunshine drives you to 88 with north winds gusting to 25 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 59. North Texas, patchy fog burns off fast this morning. You'll hit 81 degrees this afternoon with a gentle northeast breeze around 10 miles an hour. Tonight cools to a pleasant 53. Now the serious stuff. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11 A.M. to 7 P.M. west of I-35 through the Hill Country. Critical fire weather out there. No outdoor burning. Period. Looking ahead, Friday cools slightly but we're still talking mid 80s. The weekend stays warm and dry statewide. Then early next week, a pattern shift. Rain chances creep back Wednesday and Thursday with scattered showers and storms possible. Charge your phone, fill up a water bottle. And maybe park in the shade today. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Red Flag Warning | Texas Weather 6 PM

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast for Wednesday, February 25th. Eighty four degrees on the thermometer.. In February. And that's not even the hot spot. South Texas is flirting with history today. A forecast high of 93 degrees puts us just three shy of the all time February record set back in 1996. We're running 53 degrees above normal. Let that sink in. Laredo and the Rio Grande Valley are the furnace right now. Upper 90s possible by tomorrow afternoon. Tonight only cools to about 59 degrees down there. Your AC is earning its paycheck early this year. Slide north to Austin and San Antonio. Eighty eight degrees this afternoon with plenty of sun and a gusty south breeze. Winds hit 25 miles an hour at times. Lows tonight settle near 60 degrees. Over on the Gulf Coast, it's cooler but rowdier. A Wind Advisory runs through 6 P.M. For coastal areas. South winds gust to 35 miles an hour along the islands. Highs reach 79 degrees. Lows stay muggy near 67 tonight. North Texas tops out around 82 degrees. A weak front sneaks through overnight, dropping lows to 55 degrees. You might actually need a light sheet tonight. Now the serious stuff. Fire danger is critical across much of the state. A Red Flag Warning covers the Permian Basin through 8 P.M. Deep South Texas is under a Fire Weather Watch. Humidity drops as low as 11 percent in spots. That's bone dry. Any spark runs fast. Looking ahead, warmth and sunshine dominate. That Thursday night front knocks highs back to the low 80s Friday. Weekend? Sunny and still in the 80s statewide. Rain chances don't creep back until early next week. Sunset tonight hits at 6:28. We're gaining almost two minutes of daylight every day now. Spring isn't knocking. It kicked the door in. I'll be tracking that fire weather all night. Stay sharp out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Red Flag Warning | Texas Weather Noon

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast for Wednesday, February 25th. Sixty two degrees right now.. And that's the coolest you'll feel all day. February forgot what month it's. And honestly, I'm not mad about it. South Texas is absolutely cooking. Highs soar to 93 degrees. That's 52 degrees above normal. We're flirting with the all time February record set back in 1996, just three degrees shy. Sunny skies, south winds gusting to 28 miles an hour. But there's a catch. A Red Flag Warning is up across Deep South Texas. Humidity drops to 25 percent. Any spark out there could turn ugly fast. Slide north into Central Texas and you're still sweating. High near 88 degrees under full sun. Southwest gusts hit 25 miles an hour this afternoon. That wind feels like someone left the oven door open. Up in North Texas, 83 degrees with mostly sunny skies and similar gusts. Not quite as extreme, but your AC is earning its paycheck today. Now the Gulf Coast. High near 80 degrees with south winds gusting to 30 miles an hour. A Wind Advisory covers Hardin and Tyler counties through 6 P.M. tonight. Secure anything loose in the yard. Tonight stays mild. Lows range from 56 degrees up north to 67 along the coast. Leave the heavy blankets in the closet. Thursday cranks the dial even higher. South Texas could touch 97 degrees. Central Texas hits 90. A weak front slides through Thursday night, but don't get excited. It barely takes the edge off. The rest of the week? Eighties statewide through the weekend. By Tuesday, we might finally see a slight chance of rain. Might. Sunrise at 7:02 A.M. Sunset at 6:28 P.M. We're gaining almost two minutes of daylight every day now. Spring is coming in hot. Literally. Keep those water bottles full today. Your body doesn't expect this kind of heat in February. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Red Flag Warning | Texas Weather 6 AM

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast. It's Wednesday, February 25th. Folks, forget everything you know about February. Today feels like May crashed the party.. And brought friends. Del Rio hits 95 degrees by 4 P.M. Laredo climbs to 93. That's 52 degrees from the all-time February record set back in 1996. Alice pushes 92. These are numbers that belong on a pool float, not a winter calendar. Slide north into Central Texas and it's not much cooler. Austin and San Antonio both push near 88 degrees by 4 P.M. That's 52 degrees above normal. Let that sink in. Winds gust to 15 miles an hour around 9 A.M., then settle down. Enjoy the breeze while it lasts. Up in North Texas, Dallas reaches 83 degrees by 4 P.M. Waco hits 85. Steady south winds around 8 miles an hour keep things comfortable. Cooler than the south? Sure. But you're still sweating through your shirt. Now the Gulf Coast. You're looking at 80 degrees by 2 P.M. with south winds gusting to 30 miles an hour. A Wind Advisory runs through 6 P.M. for coastal areas. If you're on the water, respect that wind. Tonight barely cools off. Lows settle into the upper 50s to low 60s statewide. Leave the windows cracked. One thing you'll want to watch. Fire danger is elevated today and Thursday, especially west of I-52 degrees. Low humidity plus gusty winds means any spark spreads fast. Skip the burn piles this week. Looking ahead, Thursday gets even hotter. Mid to upper 90s across South Texas before a weak front sneaks in Thursday night. Friday brings a slight cooldown into the low 80s. Then dry conditions and above normal warmth carry us straight through the weekend. Sunscreen in February. I checked twice. And yes, it's real. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!

    Texas Weather: 02-22-2026

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast for Sunday, February 22nd. Folks, if you liked today's 63 degrees, just wait. By Wednesday, parts of Texas will feel like May crashed the party. We're talking a 35 degrees to 35 degree warm up in three days. But tonight? Winter gets one last word. Down along the Gulf Coast, you topped out at 62 degrees around 4 P.M. With a brisk north wind gusting to 20 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 41 by 7 A.M. Tomorrow's a carbon copy. Then Tuesday the wind flips south and everything changes. Wednesday you're flirting with 78 degrees. Thursday? 82. That's beach weather in February. Slide south and you're seeing the real fireworks. South Texas woke up at a crisp 39 around 7 A.M. But climbed to 69 by 4 P.M. Northeast winds stay gusty tonight at 15 miles an hour. Here's the kicker. Wednesday hits 92 degrees. Let that sink in. Ninety two. In February. Your AC is about to get a wake up call. Over in Central Texas, that 37 degree morning by 7 A.M. Gave way to 65 this afternoon by 4 P.M. Tuesday jumps to 75. Wednesday soars to 86. The kind of week where you'll want shorts and a jacket in the same car. Up in North Texas, you had the coldest seat in the house. Low of 35 around 6 A.M. High of just 59 by 3 P.M. But Wednesday pushes 83. That's a nearly 50 degree swing from morning low to midweek high. Now the week ahead tells one big story. Monday and Tuesday ramp up steadily. Wednesday is the peak, running 35 degrees to 35 degrees above normal statewide. A front nudges in late Thursday but barely dents things. No rain anywhere, so fire danger stays elevated with those gusty midweek winds. Quick bright spot. Sunrise hit 7:05 A.M. Today, sunset at 6:25 P.M. Almost two extra minutes of daylight every single day now. I'll be tracking that midweek heat all night. Take care. And that's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Step outside right now and you're feeling 48 degrees under blue skies. Sounds pleasant enough. But those northeast gusts hitting 25 miles an hour? They're turning dry brush into a tinderbox. A Red Flag Warning covers South and Central Texas through this afternoon. Humidity's dropping into the teens. Any spark out there could sprint across a field before you finish your coffee. No burns today. No exceptions. Along the Gulf Coast, a Gale Warning has waves running six to ten feet. If you've got a boat, keep it tied up through noon. Now the temperature picture. Down in Laredo and Corpus Christi, you're climbing to 69 degrees by 4 P.M. Feels nice, right? Rewind to 7 A.M. And that wind made it feel like 35 degrees. Classic bait and switch. Over in Central Texas, you'll top out around 63 degrees near 3 P.M. North Texas? Struggling to crack 57 degrees by 4 P.M. Tonight, Dallas dips to 34 degrees. Patchy frost is possible in sheltered spots up there. Here's where it gets interesting. This cold snap has an expiration date. And it's coming fast. Tuesday pushes South Texas to 79 degrees. We're going from jacket weather to air conditioning weather in three days flat. Fire danger rides along for the whole stretch. A weak front slides through late Thursday, barely enough to shave a few degrees off by Friday. One more sunrise note. We're gaining almost two minutes of daylight every day now. Sunrise at 7:05 A.M., sunset at 6:25 P.M. Keep your grills cold today and tie down anything the wind can grab. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!

It's rewriting the whole script tonight. South Texas hit 83 degrees around 35 degrees P.M. By 35 degrees A.M. tomorrow? 44 degrees. That's a 40 degree nosedive in about twelve hours. The kind of drop that makes your thermostat question its life choices. And fire danger is no joke right now. Red Flag Warnings are flying across South and Central Texas. Humidity's cratering into the teens. North winds gusting to 35 degrees, even 30 miles an hour. One spark and dry grass turns into a headline. No outdoor burning tonight. Period. Let's take a drive. Down in the Valley, Laredo and McAllen are still clinging to the warmth, but tonight that wind chill drops it to 37 degrees. Bring the pets inside. Slide over to the Gulf Coast and Houston's sitting at 76 degrees this afternoon. Tomorrow? Just 63. Galveston's dealing with waves five to ten feet high through Sunday. Stay out of that water. Rip currents are dangerous. Up through Austin and San Antonio, you're seeing 68 degrees with gusts to 30 miles an hour. Tonight crashes to 42 degrees, feeling like 36. Cover those plants if you haven't already. Keep driving north to Dallas and Fort Worth. You topped out around 60 today. Tomorrow barely cracks 57. But Tuesday the rebound kicks in hard. By Wednesday, South Texas flirts with 91 degrees. In February. North Texas climbs into the mid 80s. No rain anywhere. Texas Weather: 02-21-2026

Good evening, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast for Saturday, February 21st. Here's the deal. Texas is running a 30 degree temperature spread right now. South Texas hit 85 degrees today. North Texas barely cracked the low 60s. That's like summer and fall having a staring contest across I-35. But the real headline tonight? Fire danger. A Red Flag Warning covers most of South and Central Texas. Humidity dropped to 10 percent today. Combine that with winds gusting to 30 miles an hour, and any spark becomes a nightmare. If you're thinking about a backyard fire pit tonight, don't. Just don't. Down in South Texas, you're crashing from 85 degrees to 44 by 35 degrees A.M. tomorrow. That's a 40 degree nosedive overnight. Your body won't know what hit it. Central Texas saw low 70s today with a steady 35 degrees mile an hour breeze. Tonight you'll drop to around 40 degrees. Head up to North Texas and those gusts hit 30 miles an hour. Some spots west of I-35 could flirt with a light freeze overnight. Lows settling near 35 degrees. Along the Gulf Coast, you're seeing 78 degrees but the water is angry. Waves pushing 8 feet. Rip currents are serious through Sunday. Stay out of the surf unless you want the ocean making decisions for you. Overnight lows near 46 degrees, feeling closer to 40 with that wind. Sunday brings cooler air everywhere. Texas Weather: 02-21-2026

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 24th, folks, and Texas is running two seasons at once today. Here's the deal. Down in South Texas, it's basically summer. You're seeing 82 degrees with north winds pushing 12 to 21 miles an hour. That breeze is the only thing keeping it honest. Tonight stays balmy near 70. Slide over to the Gulf Coast and you're still feeling 78 degrees. A slight chance of showers, but most of you stay dry. Overnight lows barely dip into the upper 60s. Perfect patio weather if you ask me. Now drive north and watch that thermometer drop like your phone battery at a music festival. Central Texas lands at a comfortable 73 degrees. Gusty winds from 15 to 20 miles an hour, though. Tonight cools into the mid 50s. Not bad at all. But North Texas? You're the odd one out at 63 degrees. Quiet skies, light winds, zero rain. Tonight you'll want a jacket as lows settle into the upper 40s. That's nearly 20 degrees cooler than the coast. Quick note on air quality. It's moderate today, so sensitive groups should ease up on heavy outdoor activity. And here's a bright spot. We're gaining almost two minutes of daylight every day now. Sunset tonight hits at 6:25. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. The Gulf Coast and South Texas hold onto those 80s through Wednesday. Central Texas climbs back into the upper 70s by midweek. North Texas finally warms up, rebounding near 70 by Tuesday. No storms lurking anywhere. Just a steady, spring like warming trend sliding across the whole state. One more thing. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a friend. It really does help more Texans find us. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe out there!
