    Episode 87: Is God Fair?

Have you ever looked at a situation that seemed just plain unfair and found yourself questioning God? You're not alone. In this episode, Kimberly and John look at one of the most common questions people wrestle with: Is God  fair? And the answer might just flip some things you thought you knew about God—upside down.Starting with God's Word, they discuss what the Bible actually says about God's nature — that he is infinitely righteous, just, and loving — and how that matters when we're tempted to judge God by our own limited, human perspective. But here's the twist: When you really look at what Jesus has done for us, there is only ONE who hasn't been treated fairly in this whole story. Jesus paid a debt he didn't owe, for people who didn't deserve it, and then on top of that, he offers us eternal life, rewards, and the fruit of his Spirit. That's not fair to HIM— but it is lavish, extravagant grace to the entire human race. And…He loves us so much, He thought we were worth the weight of unfairness He took in order to reconcile us to Himself. Hallelujah, what a Savior!

Episode 86: If Trust in God is Less Than 100%, It Isn’t Trust At All

Inspired by a powerful message from Dr. Pat Briney, Kimberly and John dig into one of the most convicting questions a believer can face: If your trust in God isn't total, is it really trust at all? Spoiler alert— the Bible says “no.” And honestly, our stress levels, our backup plans, and our furrowed eyebrows in the middle of a hard morning are telling on us whether we realize it or not. From Peter stepping out of the boat to Paul waiting blind in Damascus for three days to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego standing firm in front of a blazing furnace—the pattern is the same. Partial trust is not trust at all. We must be “all in” if we want to reap the marvelous benefits of life in God. The Bible makes it clear that the difference between “partial trust” (whatever that is) and fully trusting is a life that looks like a shriveled shrub dying in the desert verses a fruitful tree by the river. My friend, we either trust God enough to step into the furnace—or we don’t. This episode gives honest, practical, and deeply encouraging tools for those of us who have prayed Proverbs 3:5-6 in the morning and then white-knuckled our way through a crisis by 10 AM.

Episode 85: The Great Secret to Contentment

Why is contentment so hard to hold onto? In a world that constantly tells us we need more, it is easy to feel like what we have, where we are, or even who we are is never enough. In this episode, Kimberly and John talk honestly about the daily struggle with dissatisfaction and the anxiety that comes when we forget that God is really in control.Drawing from Philippians 4 and 1 Timothy 6, they share life-changing truths for having contentment. This conversation is practical, personal, and deeply encouraging. If you have been feeling restless, stretched thin, worried, or just plain discontent, this episode is a reminder that lasting contentment is not found in better circumstances. It is found in Christ.

Episode 84: When We Experience God’s Delight

What if one of the greatest blessings in the Christian life is not just that God loves us, but that He actually will delight in us? In this episode, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty talk about the staggering truth that God desires to take pleasure in His people! Drawing from Psalms, Zephaniah, Romans, and their own personal stories, they reflect on how thankfulness and humility draw us into a deeper intimacy with the Lord where His delight is experienced. This conversation challenges the false image of God as distant or stoic and replaces it with the beautiful reality of our tender, loving Father who rejoices over His children. They also discuss how unthankfulness, self-sufficiency and pride darkens our hearts and shrouds the experience of His delight. The key to experiencing God’s delight is in thankfulness, because it produces humility and enlightens us to His delight. In His presence we experience greater peace, love, joy, strength and intimacy. God’s delight is absolutely one of the most extraordinary of life’s experiences!

Episode 83: When Is Our Trauma Incurable?

What if you could live free from the trauma you thought would always define you? Kimberly and John have a heartfelt conversation about trauma, healing, and the hope we have in Christ. Drawing from Micah and other passages of Scripture, they talk honestly about the pain we all carry and how our choices keep old wounds open. There are choices we can make that leads us toward true healing. But there are also decisions we make that can make our trauma incurable. This episode is a reminder that while we do live in a fallen world filled with loss, grief, and heartbreak, we do not have to remain stuck in defeat. God does not ask us to pretend our pain is small, but He does invite us to bring it to Him, let Him search our hearts, and learn how to live in freedom for His glory.

Episode 82: Earth: The Only Heaven for Unsaved; the Only Hell for Saved

“For the unsaved, this earth is the only heaven they will ever experience. For the saved, this earth is the only hell we will ever experience.”In this episode of Truth in Love, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty reflect on a thought-provoking statement that reshapes how we view both this life and eternity. Drawing from Psalms 103 and 104, they talk about the beauty of creation, the kindness of God seen all around us, and how every good gift on earth points back to the Creator—not the creation itself. They also contrast the temporary sorrows believers face in this life with the eternal hope found in Christ, while reminding listeners of the sobering reality for those who do not know Him. More than anything, this conversation calls us to live with greater joy, compassion, and urgency, remembering that the people around us need to see the hope of Jesus through the way we live each day.

Episode 81: The Secret To Maintaining Control In Crisis

As Easter approaches, Kim and John discuss one of the most powerful moments in the Bible—Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. It’s remarkable that even though He knew the suffering that awaited Him, Jesus didn’t run from the greatest crisis in human history. He stepped forward and surrendered completely to the will of the Father. In this episode, they discuss what it really means to maintain control in life’s darkest hours. The answer may surprise you—it isn’t about fortifying oneself or finding solutions. True control comes through surrender to God. This is an amazing phenomenon. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Christ was in agony and under the unimaginable stress of betrayal and the full knowledge of suffering. Yet He remained in full control. How? His response shows us that the greatest strength is found in trusting our Heavenly Father—who is truly in control. When trouble comes, the question isn’t whether we can manage it ourselves. The real question is: Have we surrendered every area of our life to God? Because when Jesus is truly our Lord, every crisis becomes an opportunity for God to work gloriously through us. Every struggle is an opportunity to shine for God’s glory.

Episode 80: What is Love And Where Does It Come From?

Everyone longs for love. It’s one of the deepest desires placed in the human heart. But what is real lasting love—and where does it come from?In this episode, Kimberly and John discuss the difference between the love the world promotes and the love the Bible describes. The world often defines love through romance, emotion, and personal fulfillment and yet, we see the wreckage of broken relationships and disappointment all around us. Do you ever wonder why?Well, the Bible tells us something radically different about love: God is love (1 John 4:8). Because we are created in His image, we long for the kind of love only He can give. His love only comes from Him. 1 Corinthians 13 reveals what real love looks like—patient, kind, selfless, and enduring. This kind of love isn’t something we can manufacture ourselves. True love begins when we are born again and allow Christ to vibrantly live through us.When we abide in Him and renew our minds in God’s Word, His love begins to overflow into every relationship in our lives.Instead of constantly searching for love from others, we begin living from the fullness of God’s love—the only love that never fails. The greatest love story begins with these words:  “For God so loved the world…”

Episode 79: How God Uses Ordinary People To Do Extraordinary Things

Have you ever felt like your life is not special? In this episode of the Truth in Love Podcast, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty explore one of the most encouraging truths in the Bible: God delights in using ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.Looking at 1 Corinthians 1, Kim and John discuss how the world tends to measure people by talent, influence, intelligence, and success. But God’s pattern is completely different. Throughout the Bible—and throughout history—He consistently chooses the overlooked and unlikely to accomplish His greatest work. From Moses—the reluctant speaker whom God sent to confront Pharaoh (Exodus 4:12), to Gideon hiding from the enemy who was called to lead just 300 men to defeat a nation (Judges 6:12), to David the young shepherd anointed as king who faced the giant Goliath and later refused to harm God’s anointed despite the threat to his own life—the Bible is filled with examples of God transforming ordinary lives into vessels of extraordinary importance. Even the disciples were fishermen and tax collectors, yet through the power of God, they helped turn the world upside down. But what does it actually look like today?Kim and John explain that the greatest miracle isn’t fame, success, or worldly achievement. The most extraordinary work God accomplishes through His people is the salvation of a soul and the transformation of a life through Jesus Christ. History reminds us that God often uses the simplest acts of obedience to spark extraordinary impact. Billy Graham was brought to a church service by a neighboring dairy farmer, where he gave his life to Christ. D. L. Moody was led to the Lord by a humble shoe salesman. Both men later became powerful ministers whose influence reached around the world—proof that when ordinary people simply share the gospel, God does extraordinary things.  Through personal stories, biblical examples, and practical encouragement, this episode reminds us that extraordinary faithfulness doesn’t require extraordinary ability—it requires humility, surrender, and a close relationship with God.If you’ve ever wondered whether your life can truly make an eternal difference, this conversation will remind you that God is still writing extraordinary stories through ordinary people every day.

Episode 78: How Life Becomes Truly Great

What does true greatness really look like?In this episode, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty explore Jeremiah 32–33, where God tells Jeremiah to buy a field while Jerusalem is under siege. The city is starving. Destruction is imminent. From a human perspective, the command makes no sense.Yet Jeremiah obeys.Through this powerful moment, we see that greatness isn’t about status, success, or recognition. It’s about trusting God beyond our own logic. It’s about standing firm in God’s truth when compromise is popular and investing in what has eternal value—even when we cannot see any immediate results.God’s promise to us today is still the same: “Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.”True greatness begins with surrender.

Episode 77: Worship: The Anchor of Your Identity

What if worship isn’t just what we do at church—but what shapes who we are?In Episode 77, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty explore a powerful and convicting truth: whatever dominates our thoughts, passions, worries, and actions is what we worship. And what we worship ultimately forms our identity.Drawing from foundational Scriptures like Exodus 20:3 and Matthew 22:37–38, this conversation challenges the conventional idea of worship as singing or raising hands on Sunday. Instead, worship is revealed as the organizing center of our lives. Whether it’s career success, parenting, sports, relationships, retirement dreams, or even ministry itself—when good things become the ultimate passion in our life, they  reshape who we become.Kimberly shares transparently from her own journey—how sports, career, family roles, and even ministry goals have competed for first place in her heart. Together, she and John discuss how misplaced worship creates anxiety, identity crises, and emotional instability, while worship rooted in Christ restores peace, joy, and purpose. With references to Psalm 16:11, Psalm 107:9, John 6:35, and Ephesians 2:10, this episode reminds listeners that God alone satisfies our soul’s greatest longing. When our identity is anchored in Him, circumstances may change—but our joy does not.If you’ve ever asked, “Who am I now?” after a life transition—or felt anxious because something you love feels uncertain—this episode offers clarity, hope, and a practical path back to the presence of God. Worship shapes identity. The question is: what or who are you worshiping?

Episode 76: Renewing The Mind Through Fellowship

We often think of renewing our mind as something intensely personal — quiet time, prayer, Scripture, private obedience. And while those are essential, this week’s episode of the Truth in Love Podcast challenges us to see something deeper:God designed the church as a primary instrument for renewing your mind. When we are born again, we receive the mind of Christ. But spiritual maturity happens as we consistently choose that mind over the flesh. One of the greatest ways God strengthens that choice is through fellowship with other believers. From Nehemiah rebuilding the wall with “a mind to work,” to Daniel calling on Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego before facing an impossible decree, Scripture shows us that God’s people grow stronger together. The church is not optional spiritual extra credit — it is God’s structure for equipping, sharpening, correcting, encouraging, and maturing His people.Ephesians 4 reminds us that God gave the apostles, prophets, pastors, and teachers “for the equipping of the saints” until we reach the fullness of Christ. In other words, we are not meant to be freelance Christians navigating spiritual warfare alone. In this episode, Kimberly and John explore how:Fellowship strengthens our resolve to choose the mind of Christ.Obedience rooted in love becomes contagious within community.Humility is essential to functioning as part of the body.Watching Jesus live through others renews our own thinking. When believers gather, something powerful happens. We see Christ expressed in different gifts, passions, ministries, and personalities. And in seeing Him at work in others, our own minds are renewed.Spiritual growth isn’t isolation — it’s participation.

Episode 75: Who Does God Say You Are?

Have you ever asked, “Who am I… really?” Not just what you do, what you’ve been through, or what other people call you—but who you are at your core. In this episode, Kimberly Faith and her dad talk about one of the biggest questions every human wrestles with: identity—and why the only place a steady, life-giving answer can be found is in what God says.God’s Word is a mirror (James 1), and it’s so easy—even for believers—to say our identity is in Christ while still living as though it’s being shaped by other authorities like performance, approval, comparison, or the fear of losing what matters most. The conversation contrasts three “identity lenses”—works-based religion, atheism, and biblical Christianity—and explains why only the Biblical view offers true value and freedom. The episode then turns practical, walking through three questions that reveal where identity is truly anchored. The hope is that listeners walk away seeing themselves as God’s workmanship—His masterpiece—created for His glory, and free to live from who they are in Christ. When we belong to God because Jesus has redeemed us; we are made priceless. It’s a marvelous experience.

Episode 74: Why Humility Is Never Weakness

In this episode of the Truth in Love Podcast, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty address a common cultural assumption that humility strips us of strength or the ability to do great things. Through Scripture, real-life examples, and thoughtful conversation, they challenge the idea that self-promotion and control are required for success. Jesus modeled humility as the foundation for attaining eternal greatness. The discussion explores why pride often disguises itself as independence, self-reliance, or control, and how humility is not passivity or insecurity, but power under the control of Almighty God. Drawing from passages such as Isaiah 57, 1 Peter 5, Philippians 2, and the Beatitudes, this episode highlights how humility positions believers to receive God’s enormous power and to walk with confidence rooted in Christ—not self.Kimberly and John also explain how thankfulness cultivates this all-important quality of humility. Humility is a multifaceted gift that makes believers approachable and effective in ministry. Living with God-centered confidence allows His power to work through us. The episode concludes with a clear reminder: Humility is the key to eternal greatness because it channels the Almighty power of God through us.

Podcast 73: The Critical Difference Between True Righteousness and Self-Righteousness

Why do so many people reject Christianity because of the hypocrisy they see in believers? How can sincere Christians unknowingly drift into self-righteousness themselves? In this episode of the Truth in Love Podcast, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty examine the critical difference between true righteousness and self-righteousness. Together, they explore what righteousness actually means according to God’s Word, and why humanity cannot produce it on their own. God provides true righteousness through Jesus Christ. It has nothing to do with us.The conversation examines the two essential aspects of biblical righteousness—positional righteousness and practiced righteousness—and shows how misunderstanding either one can lead to fear-driven obedience, performance-based spirituality, and pride disguised as holiness. With personal testimony, Biblical clarity, and practical application, this episode calls believers back to a life motivated by love rather than obligation. If you’ve ever struggled with feeling like you have to “prove” your faith, wrestled with spiritual comparison, or wondered why obedience sometimes feels heavy instead of joyful, this episode offers freeing truth rooted in God’s grace.

  16. 72

Episode 72: Cultivating Focus In A Noisy World

In this episode of the Truth in Love Podcast, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty talk about a struggle many of us feel every day: it’s getting harder to maintain deep, sustained focus. From buzzing phones and constant notifications to wandering thoughts and “mental traffic jams,” distraction has become a normal part of life—but it’s not harmless.Together, they help listeners see distraction not only as a modern brain-and-attention problem, but also as a spiritual issue that affects our peace, our relationships, and our ability to glorify God. With Scripture as their foundation, they share practical, simple strategies to fight back: identify what’s stealing your attention, saturate your mind with God’s Word, replace unhealthy thoughts with God’s thoughts, and stay in constant communication with the Lord through prayer. This conversation is both honest and hopeful—because with Jesus, focus can be restored, peace can return, and we can become more present with God and with the people He’s placed in our lives.

  17. 71

Episode 71: God's Response To Suffering

In this thoughtful and deeply personal episode of the Truth in Love Podcast, Kimberly Faith and her father, John McLarty, address one of life’s most difficult and universal questions: What is God’s response to pain and suffering?Against the backdrop of global turmoil and personal hardship, they explore suffering through a biblical lens—contrasting God’s eternal perspective with the world’s tendency to see pain as pointless or cruel. Drawing from Scripture and real-life experiences, they discuss how suffering entered the world through sin, yet how God consistently redeems suffering for His glory and our good.Through powerful biblical examples—Joseph in prison, Job in unimaginable loss, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, and ultimately Jesus Christ on the cross—this conversation reminds listeners that suffering is never wasted when God is on the throne of our hearts. Rather than asking “Why?” in times of pain, Kimberly and John encourage believers to ask “Who?”—and to draw near to the God who promises His presence in every storm. This episode offers comfort, clarity, and a renewed call to intimacy with God, especially when life hurts the most.

  18. 70

Episode 70: Eternal Security: 5 Misinterpreted Scriptures

Some passages in Scripture are so often misunderstood that they leave sincere believers questioning the very thing God intended to give them—peace. In this episode, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty step into five commonly debated Bible verses that many people fear point to the loss of salvation. Instead of fueling doubt, these verses—when read in their full context—highlight the holiness of God, the seriousness of fellowship, and the unshakeable security found in Christ alone.Kimberly and John revisit the foundation laid in the previous episode: the biblical reasons a born-again believer cannot lose their salvation. With that groundwork in place, they carefully explore why certain verses have been misinterpreted and how Scripture, read alongside Scripture, paints a consistent picture of God’s nature, His grace, and His promises.Together, they discuss warnings meant for believers who refuse to grow, passages aimed at legalistic Christians drifting into self-reliance, and verses directed not to believers at all—but to those who were never saved in the first place. Through practical examples, biblical context, and heartfelt clarity, this episode helps listeners replace confusion with confidence in God’s character and His gift of eternal life.

  19. 69

Episode 69: 7 Reasons You Can't Lose Salvation

Can a believer lose their salvation—or is it truly secure? In this episode of the Truth in Love Podcast, Kimberly Faith and her father, John McLarty, address one of the most foundational and misunderstood doctrines of the Christian faith: the eternal security of the believer. Together, they confront the fear, confusion, and anxiety many carry about whether they are “good enough” to keep their salvation, and they point listeners back to what Scripture actually teaches.Using clear biblical reasoning and relatable illustrations—from adoption and legal verdicts to gifts and spiritual rebirth—this conversation explains why salvation is rooted not in human performance, but in the finished work and unchanging nature of God. Kimberly and John discuss seven biblical reasons that salvation cannot be lost, showing how justification, eternal life, grace, the sealing of the Holy Spirit, Christ’s completed sacrifice, new spiritual birth, and God’s character all point to one unshakable truth: what God declares finished cannot be undone. This episode offers clarity, reassurance, and peace for believers who have wrestled with doubt, and it sets the stage for next week’s discussion on commonly misunderstood verses that are often used to challenge eternal security. This episode reminds listeners that confidence in salvation rests not in what we do for God, but in what God has already done for us through Jesus Christ.

  20. 68

Episode 68: Born for the Battlefield: Facing 2026 With The Armor Of God

In this New Year’s episode, Kimberly Faith and her dad, John McLarty, invite listeners to see 2026 as a year of intentional spiritual warfare—not in fear, but in confidence that Jesus has already won. Starting from the picture of Jesus “born onto the battlefield,” they remind us that when we are born again, we too are placed in the middle of a very real spiritual conflict. Drawing from Ephesians 6:14–17, they explore the armor of God—belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the Spirit—and show how every single piece is actually fulfilled in the person of Jesus.Rather than a checklist of spiritual duties, the armor becomes a relational picture: when Christ is at the center, we are protected, stable, and effective. When self, culture, or lies replace Him at the center, our “gear” loosens and we become anxious, vulnerable, and ineffective on the battlefield. With vivid military illustrations, personal testimony, and practical examples from business, daily life, and past seasons of drifting, Kimberly and John urge listeners to step into the new year fully suited up in Christ—fighting from His victory, not for it.

  21. 67

Episode 67: The Best Gifts Of Christmas: Humility

In this heartfelt conclusion to the Best Gifts of Christmas series, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty explore one of the most overlooked yet transformative gifts God gives His children: humility. Rooted in Philippians 2, they reflect on how Jesus—though fully God—chose to humble Himself, becoming the ultimate example of strength surrendered to the Father.Together, Kimberly and John discuss what humility truly means from a biblical perspective—not self-deprecation, false modesty, or weakness, but the Spirit-given ability to step out of the exhausting cycle of self-focus and step into the freedom of Christ-centered living. They discuss how pride subtly distances us from God, how humility aligns us with His blessing, and how embracing this gift reshapes our desires, our thinking, and our daily choices. This conversation is rich with relatable stories, Scripture-driven insight, and a powerful reminder that the greatest Christmas gift is not only that Christ humbled Himself for us, but that He enables us to walk in humility with Him. As Christmas approaches, this message invites us to shift our gaze from ourselves to our Savior—the One who frees, restores, and empowers us to live with purpose and joy.

  22. 66

Episode 66: The Best Gifts Of Christmas: Jesus—The Living Word

In this Christmas episode of the Truth in Love podcast, Kimberly Faith and her dad, John McLarty, explore Jesus as the Living Word and the priceless gift of God’s written Word. Starting in John 1, they examine how Jesus, the Word made flesh, brings life and light into our darkness—and how the Bible is literally the mind of God being poured into our minds. Through Scriptures like Psalm 119, Psalm 118, Hebrews 4:12, and John 4, they paint a picture of how God’s Word directs our path, exposes our motives, and refreshes our souls like living water. They share an illustration comparing our spiritual life to a pond: a pond dug deep enough stays clear, healthy, and vibrant—just like a soul rooted deeply in Scripture stays alive, refreshed, and continually renewed. Kimberly also shares personal stories of how God’s Word has transformed her thought life, helping her respond with grace, pray for people who offend her, and replace negative thoughts with Christlike actions. Together, she and John remind us that one of the greatest gifts we can give during Christmas is to let the Living Word flow through us so that others can see Jesus reflected in our peace, joy, and love.

  23. 65

Episode 65: The Best Gifts Of Christmas: The 5 Eternal Crowns

In this deeply encouraging Christmas episode, Kimberly Faith and her father, John McLarty, continue their discussion of eternal rewards—this time diving into the five crowns promised to born-again believers. With warmth, humor, and heartfelt stories (including a rare dime and a powerful illustration of how blessings multiply), they break down why these crowns are not prizes we strive for in self-effort, but expressions of God’s love, purpose, and delight in His children.Kimberly shares how studying these crowns has reawakened her desire to live each day with eternity in mind—seeing that everything we think, say, and do truly matters. John reflects on the joy, motivation, and personal responsibility that come when we realize God desires to bless us, not only in eternity but right now.Together, they examine the biblical passages behind each crown—righteousness, life, glory, the incorruptible crown, and the crown of rejoicing—and how each one fuels courage, surrender, spiritual discipline, and deeper love for Jesus. This Christmas season, they remind us that the greatest gifts are not under the tree—they’re the eternal rewards God lovingly sets aside for His children.

  24. 64

Episode 64: The Best Gifts Of Christmas: The Eternal Gifts

As Kimberly Faith and John McLarty launch the December podcast series, they explore a side of Christmas we rarely slow down to consider—the eternal gifts God gives His children. While we often focus on earthly blessings, answered prayers, health needs, and holiday traditions, Scripture reminds us that we are in a spiritual battle and that God offers spiritual gifts that outlast every season of life. This conversation invites listeners to shift their gaze upward—from temporary concerns to the eternal rewards God promises to those who love Him, serve Him, and persevere faithfully. Kimberly and John layout five powerful biblical rewards tied to the judgment seat of Christ—rewards rooted not in earning salvation, but in living with the right motivation: loving obedience to Jesus.Through Scripture, real-life stories, and deep spiritual insight, they discuss the beauty of entering the joy of the Lord, shining forever, receiving personal commendation from Jesus, reigning with Him, and sharing in the inheritance promised to all believers. It’s a stirring reminder that everything we do for Christ matters—and those unseen acts of obedience ripple into eternity. This episode sets the tone for a rich December series that will help listeners celebrate Christmas not only with gratitude for Christ’s birth, but with renewed purpose for why they are here and what truly lasts forever.

  25. 63

Episode 63: How to Engage the Mind of Christ

So much of the Christian life rises and falls on what we allow to live in our mind. In this conversation, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty discuss the daily battle between the mind of the flesh and the mind of Christ. Drawing from Galatians 5, Romans 12, 2 Corinthians 10, Deuteronomy 6, and even the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls in Nehemiah, they show that every believer actually has two “inputs” running at once — the flesh and the Spirit — and our will is the place that chooses which one to feed. They walk through real-life examples of taking a thought captive (even something as simple as seeing someone walk by and immediately praying for him), recognizing when peace drops, and replacing anxious, offended, or judgmental thoughts with prayer and Scripture. They also talk about how doom-scrolling, constant entertainment, or nursing offense slowly lowers our “peace gauge,” and why input without output (Bible study that never becomes serving, loving, or encouraging) keeps us from experiencing the joy of God’s presence. Using Nehemiah’s wall as a picture, they encourage listeners to identify weak spots, build a strategy, stay in church community, and approach life like warriors who know the enemy will test the same places again and again. At the center of it all is this truth: peace is not the absence of trouble; it’s Christ’s mind ruling instead of our carnal mind.

  26. 62

Episode 62: Which Mind Are You Using?

With mental-health headlines everywhere, Kimberly Faith and her father, John McLarty, go straight to Scripture to ask a deeper question: Knowing the mind you’ve been given and maximizing its use.Kimberly and John discuss the spiritual anatomy of human design—body, soul, and spirit—and explain how every believer operates with two potential minds, or “operating systems.” The Bible discusses two distinct minds: the carnal mind and the spiritual mind. Using Romans 8:5–8 as their foundation, they show how peace becomes the true measure of which mind we are living from.Through candid discussion, relatable analogies, and Biblical insight, this episode helps listeners identify whether their thoughts are rooted in the flesh or guided by the Spirit. Kimberly and John share personal reflections on anxiety, surrender, and daily mental discipline—illustrating that true transformation comes not by striving to control our minds, but by yielding them to God’s will.As the conversation unfolds, they contrast the hopelessness of secular humanism with the purpose and peace found in Biblical truth, reminding us that the mind of Christ isn’t just available—it’s meant to be lived from daily. This episode will leave you examining your own mental patterns and asking: Which mind is leading my life today—the carnal mind or the mind of Christ?

  27. 61

Episode 61: Joe and Maria Vigil: From Battlefield to Mission Field

Joe and Maria Vigil—married since 1989 with a combined 60 years of U.S. Army service—share how Jesus reshaped their marriage, their identity, and their purpose. From missiles overhead in Kuwait to walking the streets of Ephesus and Crete, from South America to Cambodia and the Philippines, their story moves from duty to discipleship: ordinary people saying “yes” to an extraordinary God. You’ll hear Maria’s mother’s hard-won wisdom—“Don’t label yourself; believe what God says about you”—Joe’s candid salvation moment in a Virginia church balcony, and the couple’s conviction that mission isn’t a trip; it’s a lifestyle. Together we explore stretching beyond comfort, carrying the Kingdom into everyday places (clinics, classrooms, base housing), and why kindness should be paired with the clear Gospel. If you don’t yet know Jesus, this conversation ends with a heartfelt invitation to meet Him. (Learn more at gofaithstrong.com → “How to be saved.”)
