James takes a dive into found footage with the 2021 fake documentary HORROR IN THE HIGH DESERT, written, produced, and directed by Dutch Marich, and charting the case of a survivalist who goes missing in the wilds of Nevada. In the first of what will be an ongoing series discussing indie film production and the practicalities of filmmaking, James chats to Kia Khalili Pir about THE OLD CIVILIAN, a short written and directed by and starring Kia, and produced by James. Over drinks, Kia and James talk about the whole process of making the short, from planning, budgeting, casting and location hunting through to the shoot, and all the challenges that arose - plenty of useful info for all the indie filmmakers out there!
