The Spots
A story about power. Stephen King said it was "Mordantly funny," and that "Poe would have liked it." I can't say fairer than that. Read by the author (me).

Tommy the Voice - a short story read by the author.
Tommy the Voice is a story set in the world of minicabs, which are quickly vanishing and being replaced by cars you can summon with mobile apps. Even in its heyday, it was populated by colourful characters who seemed old-fashioned, and this tale concerns an actual legend - the almost mythical Controller known to everyone as Tommy the Voice. As the driver in the story says, "Some people are good with animals; Tommy was good with drivers." Some of this story is drawn from my own experience as a minicab driver, and it appears in my debut collection, 'The Glade and Other Stories'.
