What If You Don't Need to Figure It Out First?
What If You Don't Need to Figure It Out First? How many times have you told yourself you just need to figure it out first? Before the career change. Before the creative project. Before the hard conversation, the move, the thing you keep circling but never landing on. It sounds responsible. Strategic, even. But waiting until you have it all worked out is one of the most effective ways to never start. This short solo episode sits with a quiet reframe: clarity is not something you think your way into. It is something you move your way into. The best decisions of your life probably did not begin with a perfect plan and total confidence. They began with a pull, a small step, and the willingness to learn along the way.In this episode, I explore:Why "I need to figure it out first" so often becomes a way to never beginHow clarity is a byproduct of action, not a prerequisite for itThe difference between preparation and procrastination, and how one quietly becomes the otherWhy the more you analyze a big decision, the bigger and more overwhelming it tends to getWhat it looks like to give yourself permission to start before you feel ready, one small step at a timeResources & Links:Ready to step off autopilot? Taylor Apolonio: What If Comfort Is the Trap?
Taylor Apolonio spent years learning how to make workplaces better for the people inside them. A first degree in interior design, then a graduate degree in workplace psychology, all rooted in one simple belief: systems should support humans, not the other way around. Taylor had the training, the tools, and the heart for the work. And then Taylor landed inside a workplace that didn't want any of it.The questions that should have made things better, why are we doing it this way, how could we support people more, turned out to be the wrong questions to ask. The backlash came quietly. A glowing six-month review became a lackluster one a year later, with almost no honest feedback in between. Taylor started to feel pushed out of a place they had come ready to give everything to.So Taylor walked away. Not to another job, and not from a dramatic blowup, but from the most money they had ever made, to bet on themselves instead. Today Taylor is building Habitat Interiors Co, blending interior design and behavioral psychology to help people create homes that actually support their wellbeing. And they are doing it on their own terms, including the choice to build a business almost entirely without social media. This is a conversation about alignment, the cost of not feeling valued, what it means to lower the stakes, and why getting comfortable being uncomfortable might be exactly where the real magic lives. In this episode, we explore:What it costs to have the exact training to fix a broken system, and still not be able to survive inside oneWhy the questions that would make a workplace healthier are so often the ones that get you pushed outHow power dynamics turn emotional, and what it feels like to threaten a status quo that has gone unquestioned for decadesThe gap between a glowing six-month review and a lackluster one a year later, with no honest feedback in betweenWhat dissociating at work actually looks like, especially when you genuinely care about the workWhy feeling valued matters more than the paycheck, and what happens when people stop believing they bring anything to the tableWhat it means to lower the stakes, and how rigid timelines and inherited expectations quietly run our livesThe difference between comfort as safety and comfort as a trapBuilding a business around your own values, including why Taylor is doing it without social mediaWhere design psychology meets everyday life, and how the spaces we live in shape how we feelThe honest role financial freedom plays in being able to walk awayWhat is helping Taylor trust the decision, even this early inResources & Links:Connect with Taylor and learn more about Habitat Interiors Co → https://www.habitatinteriorsco.comWatch on YouTube → https://www.youtube.com/taylorapolonioReady to step off autopilot? Why Does Change Feel So Hard — Even When You Want It?
Here's something that doesn't make sense on the surface. You know something needs to change. You can feel it. You've said it out loud — to a friend, to a therapist, to yourself in the car at 7 AM. You're clear about it. You're motivated. You might even be ready. And then nothing happens. Not because you don't care. Not because you're lazy or broken or not trying hard enough. But because every time you get close to actually doing the thing — making the call, having the conversation, taking the step — something pulls you back. And that something feels stronger than your motivation. Stronger than your logic. Stronger than everything you know to be true about what you need. That's resistance. And most of us have a deeply unhealthy relationship with it.We treat it like the enemy. Like if we could just push through — just be disciplined enough, brave enough, focused enough — we'd finally get to the other side. But what if resistance isn't the enemy at all? What if it's trying to protect you?Your nervous system doesn't know the difference between physical danger and emotional risk. It doesn't know the difference between a bear in the woods and a hard conversation with your boss. All it knows is: this feels unsafe. And its only job is to keep you safe. The problem is, the thing that kept you safe at one point in your life can become the thing that keeps you small. The armor that got you through a difficult childhood. The people-pleasing that kept the peace. The overwork that made you feel valuable. Those patterns made sense once. But they're still running in the background — making decisions for you that you didn't consciously choose. So what do you do with that? You don't fight it. You get curious about it.Resources & Links:Ready to step off autopilot? Mariah Sheridan: What Does the Highlight Reel Hide?
Mariah Sheridan grew up wanting one thing above everything else — normal. A stable home, a loving partner, kids, a life that looked nothing like the one she came from. She built exactly that. A successful real estate career, a marriage people admired, three daughters, a home nestled in the Rockies. From the outside, it looked like arrival. And then, after nearly two decades, she walked away from it.Not because of a crisis. Not because of a dramatic turning point. But because of a quiet knowing she'd been carrying for years — a distance between the life people could see and the one she was actually living inside of. And because she realized she would never want any of her three daughters to stay in a marriage the way she had been staying in hers.Mariah is a real estate agent, a mother of three, and a writer working on a memoir built from journals she's kept since she was ten years old. Her story begins in a complicated childhood and ends, for now, in the messy, honest, hopeful middle of becoming someone new. This is a conversation about perfectionism, the weight of the highlight reel, what it really means to choose yourself, and why keeping going is sometimes the only thing you can do.In this episode, we explore:What it means to grow up carrying a secret — and how that shapes the life you spend decades trying to buildWhy the white picket fence dream was deeply personal, not just cultural, for MariahWhat she knew long before she said it out loud — and what finally made her say itThe experience of telling her daughters the same day she told her husband, and why she couldn't imagine doing it any other wayWhat the four months after her announcement revealed about the relationship she was actually inWhy the people closest to us often can't see the gap between our highlight reel and our real life — and what that isolation costsThe purgatory of divorce proceedings — the holding pattern nobody warns you aboutWhat codependency work taught her about how she showed up in her marriageThe moment her 15-year-old daughter read her memoir pages and forgot, for a few minutes, that the story was about her momThe belief she's had to release most — and why "perfect" was always a two-dimensional imageWhat she wishes her friends had known to do when everything on the outside still looked fineWhat it means to keep going when you can't yet see what's coming nextResources & Links:Connect with Mariah and follow her journey at mariahrealestatefernie.caFollow Mariah on Instagram → @mariah_in_fernieReady to step off autopilot? Where's the Gap Between Looking Good and Feeling True?
Picture this. You're at dinner with friends. Someone asks how things are going. And you say, "Good. Really good, actually." And you smile. And you mostly mean it.Because things are good. The job is solid. The relationship looks healthy. The routine works. From the outside, your life is something people would look at and say, they've got it together. And that's exactly what makes this so confusing.Because underneath the "really good, actually" — there's something else. A quiet hum you can't quite name. It's not crisis. It's not depression. It's not even unhappiness, exactly. It's more like a distance. Between the life people see and the one you're actually living inside of.That's the gap.And if you've never had a name for it before, this might be the first time someone has given you one. But if you've been carrying it — you already know exactly what I'm talking about. And you know how exhausting it is. Because maintaining the gap takes real energy. The energy of saying yes to things that don't excite you because they're supposed to. Of performing competence and confidence while quietly wondering whether any of this is actually what you want. Here's what I want you to hear: the gap doesn't mean something is wrong with you. It means something is right with you. It means you're aware enough to notice. And closing it doesn't require blowing up your life.It starts with one quiet, honest question — not the kind you post about, not the kind that requires a dramatic conversation. Just the private kind. The kind where you sit with yourself and ask: what am I holding onto because I'm afraid of what it would mean to let it go?Resources & Links:Ready to step off autopilot? Colleen Budde: What If the System Was Never Built for You?
Colleen Budde holds two mechanical engineering degrees, spent nearly a decade navigating the automotive and defense industries, and walked away from a combined household income of $300,000 — not because of a crisis, not because of a disaster, but because the system she was operating inside of was never going to bend. She and her husband purchased an Office Evolution franchise in January 2020, survived a pandemic with a newborn, found a building that would take a chance on them, and built something real. Today Colleen runs her coworking space alongside Budde Consulting Group, where she works with small business owners navigating the messy, honest, unglamorous middle of building something on their own terms. She also writes and builds community through her Mompreneur Facebook page and Substack — creating space for people at every stage of the journey to find each other and realize they're not doing it alone. This is a conversation about discomfort as information, time as wealth, and what it actually looks like to build a life the system never offered you.Connect with Colleen: 🌐 buddeconsultinggroup.com 📸 Instagram: @colleen_the_ 💼 LinkedIn: Colleen BuddeIn this episode, we explore:How growing up with a father who got fired repeatedly — and kept moving — shaped Colleen's relationship with change and riskWhy changing jobs early in her career wasn't instability, it was strategy — and what the numbers provedWhat it's actually like to be a woman in mechanical engineering, and what the defense industry added to thatThe moment Colleen stopped waiting for the system to change and started building an exitWhy she and her husband bought a franchise in January 2020 — and how they survived what came nextThe childcare situation that crystallized everything — and the meeting that pushed her over the edgeWhat "rage quitting" actually looked like, and how her husband's response said everythingThe difference between the golden handcuffs keeping most people stuck and the financial clarity that made leaving possibleWhy discomfort isn't a personal flaw — it's informationWhat entrepreneurship is actually harder than she expected — and what she didn't anticipate getting backThe medical emergency that reminded her exactly why she built this lifeWhat wealth actually looks like when time is the currencyResources & Links:Connect with Colleen, explore her consulting work, and find her community at buddeconsultinggroup.comFollow Colleen on Instagram → @colleen_the_Connect on LinkedIn → Colleen BuddeReady to step off autopilot? Why Isn't Kindness the Default?
Here's a question worth sitting with: why isn't kindness the default? Not the performative kind. Not the kindness that gets posted about. The quiet, unglamorous kind that asks something real of you — the kind that requires you to stay open when the easier thing would be to shut down.Because somewhere along the way, we started confusing hardness with strength. And they are not the same thing. This episode starts with a simple question that completely reframed the way I think about how we show up for each other: Do you want notes or do you want compliments? That's it. Just ask. Because not everyone who shares something with you is asking you to evaluate it. Sometimes people just want to be seen. But it goes deeper than that. Most of us were raised inside systems that trained us to manage, evaluate, optimize, find the gap, and fix it. And that conditioning doesn't stay at work. It bleeds into our friendships, our partnerships, our parenting — every moment where someone shows up and says, here's what I've got.And then there's social media. Over a decade of training ourselves to react instead of respond. To form opinions about strangers in seconds. To comment without context. That conditioning doesn't stay online either. It changes the texture of real life — makes us quicker to judge, slower to listen, more comfortable being dismissive, less comfortable being sincere. The world feels heavy right now. And a lot of people are responding to that heaviness by getting sharper, more guarded, more defended. But what if more armor isn't the answer? What if it's just more kindness?Resources & Links:Ready to step off autopilot? Peter Moore: What Are You Waiting for Permission to Create?
Peter Moore spent thirty years catching a wave. As a top editor at Playboy and Men's Health, he interviewed presidents, shaped some of the most widely read magazines in the country, and ghostwrote three New York Times bestsellers — none of them under his name. He was very good at speaking in other people's voices. Then the wave carried him to shore, the tide went out, and the silence arrived. What followed wasn't a crisis. It was, eventually, a calling. Today Peter is a writer, cartoonist, NPR commentator, and Substack creator with 16,000 subscribers — blending humor, illustration, and sharp cultural observation into a body of work that is entirely, unmistakably his. He got there by taking an art class in Pennsylvania, putting rabbits and foxes on a landscape painting, and following the laugh. This is a conversation about the seeds you plant before you know what you're cultivating — and what becomes possible when you finally stop asking for permission.Connect with Peter: 🌐 petermoore.substack.comIn this episode, we explore:How Peter rode a wave of magazine publishing for thirty years — and what the silence felt like when it finally endedWhy being laid off from Men's Health turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to himThe painting class in Pennsylvania where rabbits and foxes changed everythingWhat it means to spend decades writing in other people's voices — and the moment you realize you're ready to write in your ownHow the old version of your career can quietly fund the new oneWhy imposter syndrome hits hardest right before the breakthroughThe Substack post about Vincent Van Gogh that went from 400 subscribers to 10,000 readers in three daysWhat the disappearance of editorial gatekeepers has cost us — and what it's made possibleHow collaboration on Substack works, and why the rising tide really does lift all boatsWhat to do with the time you're spending on things that aren't moving you forwardWhy you lose a hundred percent of the life initiatives you never startThe difference between comfort and alignment — and why now is exactly the right time to find out which one you've been choosingResources & Links:Connect with Peter and explore his work at petermoore.substack.comReady to step off autopilot? What If You're Not Stuck — You're Just on Autopilot?
Have you ever driven somewhere and arrived without remembering a single moment of the drive? You weren't asleep. You just weren't there. Your body was going through the motions while your mind was somewhere else entirely. That's autopilot. And the uncomfortable truth is — you can live your whole life that way.Same routine. Same conversations. Same goals you set three years ago that you haven't stopped to revisit. Not because they're wrong, necessarily. But because you stopped asking whether they still fit. Most people call that feeling stuck. But stuck implies something's broken — that there's a wall in front of you and you're not strong enough, disciplined enough, or clear enough to push through. What if that's not what's happening at all?Because there's a real difference. Stuck means you can't move. Autopilot means you're moving — just not intentionally. You're checking the boxes, going through the motions, doing what's expected. But you're not really choosing any of it.And autopilot is comfortable. Efficient. That's exactly why your brain defaults to it. But comfort and alignment are not the same thing. The good news? Autopilot has an off switch. It's not dramatic. It doesn't require a reinvention. It just requires one honest question — even once a day:Am I choosing this? Or is this just what I've always done?Resources & Links:Ready to step off autopilot? Cheryl Whitelaw: What Does Your Body Already Know?
Cheryl Whitelaw built a life around planning. Bright, capable, and deeply achievement-oriented, she moved through academia and a career in intercultural education the way most of us do — by mapping the path ahead and executing it. Then one day, sitting in a windowless office she believed in, something shifted. Not a thought. A feeling. A knowing she couldn't explain and couldn't ignore. What followed was a years-long journey into somatic intelligence — the Aikido dojo, the Feldenkrais method, the study of how the body holds wisdom the mind can't always access. Today, Cheryl is a Feldenkrais practitioner, martial artist, certified integral coach, and the founder of Kind Power Studio in Canada, where she helps individuals and organizations develop the embodied presence needed to navigate conflict, uncertainty, and change. This is a conversation about what it means to stop living five seconds ahead of yourself — and what opens up when you finally come home to your body.Connect with Cheryl: 🌐 kindpower.ca 📺 YouTube: Peace and PowerIn this episode, we explore:What it means to live entirely from the mind — and the moment Cheryl's body finally said enoughHow she left a career she believed in without a clear next step, guided only by a feeling she couldn't rationalizeWhat somatic intelligence actually is, and why Western culture consistently undervalues itThe practice of grounding and centering — and how it creates a physiological calm you can retrieve under pressureWhy by the time we realize we're afraid, the body has already been doing fear for at least a minuteWhat it looks like to enter a conflict situation from a place of presence rather than adrenalineHow Cheryl navigated one of the most charged DEI conversations of the past decade — with 16 activists ready for battle — and what actually shifted the roomThe difference between authentic and true — and why that distinction matters in coaching, conflict, and self-understandingWhat "softly evolving ambition" means, and why Cheryl is reconditioning her entire relationship with productivity and successKronos versus Kairos — clock time versus right timing — and what it looks like to actually live by the latterWhy the body is not something you have. Kimberly Lee: What Are You Still Defending?
Kimberly Lee spent ten years as a trial attorney — four as a public defender in downtown Los Angeles, six running her own practice. She had the pedigree, the credentials, and a career that looked like everything was figured out. She also had a throat that hurt every time she left the courtroom, a Sunday dread that never went away, and a quiet inner voice that kept growing louder.Today, Kimberly is a writer, workshop facilitator, and retreat leader who works with creatives and emerging writers. She's the author of Have You Seen Him? — a thriller available now — and the creator of a body of work that exists because she finally stopped outsourcing her sense of self to a title. This is a conversation about what it means to trust yourself when the path isn't clear, let go of an identity that no longer fits, and build something new without a roadmap.Connect with Kimberly: kimberlylee.me In this episode, we explore:What it felt like to follow the "right" path into law — and when Kimberly first started to sense it wasn't hersThe physical signals her body sent before her mind was ready to listen — and what she did with themWhat it costs to perform a version of yourself for years, and how that performance eventually runs out of steamWhy identity gets so tangled up in impressive-sounding titles — and the quiet act of resistance it takes to let that goThe moment at a birthday party that became an unexpected test of who she was becomingWhat actually transfers from a high-stakes legal career into creative work — and what she was more than happy to leave behindImposter syndrome, the non-linear path, and why forging your own way requires a tolerance for uncertaintyThe difference between people who thrive in hard environments and those who carry that environment home with themPeople pleasing, saying yes to the wrong things, and how Kimberly learned to pause before committingFear as fuel — and the Nelson Mandela quote she adopted to replace the win/lose binary she left behindWhat "I either win or learn" looks like in practice when you're building something from scratchResources & Links:Ready to step off autopilot? What Lines Are You Living Inside That You Didn't Draw?
Most of us never chose the rules we live by. We didn't have to — they were already everywhere. In what our parents valued, what our teachers rewarded, what our culture quietly insisted a good life was supposed to look like.Go to school. Get the degree. Find the stable career. Hit the milestones in the right order. And most of us followed those lines without ever questioning them. Not because we agreed — but because we didn't realize there was another option. That's the thing about inherited expectations. They don't announce themselves. They just become the water you swim in. You end up building a life that looks right but doesn't quite feel like yours. And that low-grade friction — that constant, quiet misalignment — takes more energy than most people realize. This episode isn't about burning it all down. It's about something quieter and more honest than that — learning to tell the difference between the lines that genuinely fit you and the ones that were drawn by someone else's anxiety, someone else's definition of enough.Because there's a version of your life where you get to choose. Maybe for the first time.Resources & Links:Ready to step off autopilot? Danielle LaPorte
This conversation is with someone who was part of the inspiration for this show. I had gone to one of her events when she was in Los Angeles, and I asked her if she would be on my show. She graciously obliged, and our conversation has been among my most memorable. I was incredibly nervous when we recorded this interview (which you can actually hear in my voice if you listen closely). The conversation was ultimately everything I hoped it would be and more, and I received a ton of positive feedback when the episode originally aired. If I could ask every human on the planet to listen to this conversation, I would. She’s a member of Oprah’s SuperSoul 100 and the former director of a future studies think tank in Washington, DC, where she managed a team creating global scenario plans. She now speaks about the intelligence of the heart. Her most recent book is How To Be Loving…when your heart is breaking open and the world is waking up. She is also the author of The Fire Starter Sessions, White Hot Truth, and The Desire Map, and producer of dozens of meditation kits and online programs for spiritual support. Her podcast, With Love, Danielle, often ranks in iTunes’ top 10 for wellness. Her website is visited by millions of people each month, and was named one of the top 100 Websites for Women by Forbes. I invite you to be inspired as we think outside the lines...with Danielle LaPorte. Mark Gober : An End To Upside Down Thinking
We’ve got an incredibly special episode for you today. I’m gonna go out on a limb, and say that its probably one of the most fascinating and insightful conversations I’ve ever had on this podcast. I strongly encourage you to suspend your disbelief and just listen with an open mind. It’s people like my guest today, who are out there helping to facilitate just some really intelligent conversation on the topic of consciousness— he’s written an incredible new book entitled AN END TO UPSIDE DOWN THINKING, where he explores some of life’s most challenging questions about who we are as human beings. In the book, he explores the idea that, contrary to mainstream assumptions, consciousness is NOT produced by the brain. This book has been endorsed by well-known thinkers like two time Nobel prize nominee, Dr. Ervin Laszlo, Harvard Neurosurgeon and #1 New York Times bestselling author, Eben Alexander MD. Even Goldie Hawn said that while reading this book, “New pathways of the mind will open and perhaps shift your perception of reality, time and space, and above all consciousness!” I can tell you that I first discovered him on another podcast, and knew immediately that I wanted to have a conversation of my own with him. I really hope that you enjoy this incredibly insightful conversation…as we think outside the lines with Mark Gober. Guest Bio: Mark Gober is an author whose worldview was turned upside down in late 2016 when he was exposed to world-changing science. After researching extensively, he wrote An End to Upside Down Thinking to introduce the general public to these cutting-edge ideas – all in an effort to encourage a much-needed global shift in scientific and existential thinking. Mark has long sought answers to life’s challenging questions. As an undergraduate at Princeton University, he was drawn to astrophysics because he wanted to understand the universe. But because due to commitments as a member of Princeton’s Division I Tennis Team, he decided that astrophysics would be too demanding. So instead of studying the invisible forces that govern the universe, he studied the invisible forces that secretly drive human behavior, getting a degree in psychology, focusing on behavioral economics. After college, he explored the universe through books for fun. But it wasn’t until the summer of 2016 that he randomly stumbled across a series of podcasts that exposed him to some radical new ideas. Those ideas put into question the most basic assumptions about who and what we are as human beings. The more he researched, the more he realized that he needed to rethink everything that he thought he knew. When he began relating to friends his research, they told him it changed the way they looked at life. Their lives started to improve. After he’d heard that multiple times, he realized it was time to share his research with a broader audience through his book and podcast so he could help more people. Dr. Chris Hahn : Unbox Yourself
My guest today is a former dentist turned Freedom Entrepreneur who helps people escape the mundane and fearlessly explore life through the power of passion and purpose. He’s written an amazing book entitled, “UNBOX YOURSELF”, in which he helps the reader to discover their passions and purpose in life. This is the sort of conversation that continues to motivate me to do this show. And I believe you will feel immensely better after listening. Its time to think outside the lines with Dr. Chris Hahn. // Guest bio: I am a hopeless optimist - few things manage to penetrate my positive mindset. Life is all about choices and I firmly believe that how we feel and think affects the outcome of each and every one of them. Professionally I am a dentist, entrepreneur, inventor, author, speaker and coach. I use my problem solving gift and passion to aid other souls in unboxing themselves so they can live a life of greatness. Success can mean just about anything - the meaning will change with time... In my teens I attributed academic achievement to success, graduating as a Valedictorian from my High School. Shortly thereafter I graduated from the USC School of Dentistry, Magna Cum Laude, at age 24. Only a few years later I became one of, if not the youngest AACD Accredited Cosmetic Dentist in the World. I was climbing this ladder of success as quickly as I could and became a millionaire before the age of 30. Then everything changed. I began looking at life a little differently. Contributing to the happiness of others, including myself became my focus. I studied happiness for many years and consequentially made many significant changes in my life. Purpose, passion, freedom, peace and love overshadow any level of financial success anyone could ever achieve and this is where I dedicate my energy to now. If you are looking to be infected with success, happiness, passion and purpose, then I am your vector. In 2004 his family moved to Australia to learn and live in a different culture. Jürgen is a keen observer of human psychology, he is a master in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Ericksonian Hypnosis and a certified Results Coach. Over the past 24 years Jürgen realized that he and his wife are doing things differently in their marriage from others. Some of their behavior was conscious, some more on the unconscious level. And with more and more relationships all around the world deteriorating, Jürgen decided to bring his wisdom and coaching to the people. He started his Inspiring Relationships only in January 2017, but already had so many discussions and sessions with people searching him out for advice and guidance. His mission is to inspire thousands of men yearly to stay in loving, respectful relationships. Which has a ripple on effect to their Children and the World. Lily Sanders: Truth to Triumph
My guest today wants to help you gain clarity, and focus on your soul purpose. Her mission is to help dispel victim mentality, and to teach people how to use their life experiences to become an empowered expression of love and truth. The lessons she’s learned and the awakening she’s experienced has transformed her into the inspirational, insightful, and thought-provoking author, speaker, and coach that she is today. And I have no doubt you will be inspired by our conversation. Its time to think outside the lines with Lily Sanders! Guest Bio: Lily Sanders’ life experiences, adversity, talent, sense of humor, and intense compassion has gifted her a purpose to write, influence, and coach others. As a magazine columnist, Lily inspired thousands while writing her own powerful book, Truth to Triumph. Her newly international released book, Truth to Triumph: A Spiritual Guide to Finding Your Truth has already begun transforming lives. Lily grew up in a domestically violent home, and used ballet class as her sanctuary. Performing and producing was her dream since she was a young child. She later went on as a professional dancer and landed interesting gigs as a dance contestant on Ed McMahon’s Star Search, and a Showgirl/Dancer on Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey Circus. She continued onto a promising acting career and won various Off Broadway roles and a day player role on ABC’s One Life to Live. Years later, she married, birthed a beautiful child and became a highly successful entrepreneur in the franchise world. Sadly, Lily suffered behind a veil of silence for 14 years, as she found herself back in a domestically violent home as a battered wife. The good news is that the lessons she learned and the awakening she experienced transformed her into the inspirational, insightful, and thought-provoking author, speaker, and coach that she is today. Lily specializes in transition and spiritual guidance through her books, speaking engagements and coaching. She helps others see through all the minutiae in life situations to gain clarity and focus on their soul purpose. No matter what someone’s story is, Lily is not about holding onto stories. Rather she teaches others how to stop seeing themselves as a victim and instead, learn how to use these experiences to become an empowered expression of love and truth. Teaching others how to hold onto that love and truth while navigating through life situations is what she mirrors and masters. Lily invites us to unlock the magic within, and awaken our dormant potential. She believes that we all have the power to choose the creations we wish to experience. Her personal transformation has proven it, and she continues to teach others how to unlock it, and walk a path of knowing one present step at a time. No matter how accomplished we are or how complete we feel in a relationship, Lily suggests that we all have areas in our life that can use enhancement. Sometimes it can be a matter of your health, asking us to examine if our physical and mental energy level is the best it can be. Perhaps we are challenged with counter-balancing our career with our loved ones. She poses the curious question: “Is your career guided by your purpose?” On a spiritual level, Lily encourages self-inquiry. “Who am I?” And in that self-inquiry, “Am I doing things that serve my highest Self? Am I fully aware of consciousness at soul level as it plays out in the physical world?” She uses these self-inquiries as tools to help us transform. That said, her passion is for humanity, and she thrives on helping others transform. Her purpose is to become a light for others that burns up the nonsense in life. Her message is love. Amazed at life's interesting crossroads, with gratitude and enthusiasm, Lily Sanders looks forward to global opportunities, and advancing collective consciousness. Malcolm & Simone Collins: Pragmatist’s Guide to Life - Pt. II
* Join me for part II of my conversation with Malcolm and Simone Collins. (Please be sure to check out part I, if you haven't already.) * The show is back after a brief hiatus, and I’m so excited to share these new episodes with you! As you know, my mission with this show has always been to help you design and live the life you deserve. And my guests today want to help you do just that. Their mission is to encourage self reflection and assist individuals in challenging their most deeply held beliefs without leading them to specific answers. They’ve written an amazing book called, “The Pragmatist’s Guide to Life”, which helps readers take a deeper dive into self discovery, from the perspective that, “who you are is either who you chose to be or who you have allowed yourself to become.” They are a married couple, who split their time between Miami and Peru, while running their travel companies. I had a ton of fun with this interview, and I really think you are going to enjoy our conversation. Its time to think outside the lines, for part II of my conversation with Malcolm and Simone Collins. // Guest Bio Originally a neuroscientist focused on brain-computer interface and the evolution of human cognition (his work is on display at the Smithsonian), Malcolm Collins felt he could learn more about the way humans interact with the world and each other by pursuing an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. There he met Simone, his wife and co-author, who at the time was Director of Marketing at HubPages.com, managing a team of 20,000 freelancers. Together they co-founded the art commission marketplace ArtCorgi.com, after which Malcolm became Director of Strategy at South Korea's most desired source of early-stage capital and Simone earned her graduate degree from Cambridge while working in VC. Maura Sweeney : Live Happy - Inside Out
In this episode, we welcome Author, Podcaster and HuffPost contributor Maura Sweeney. She has been featured hundreds of times in the media for her views on Influence, Leadership and Identity. She's also an international speaker and, of all things, the trademarked Ambassador of Happiness. What's important to note is that what she's accomplished has been self-created, self-generated and self-styled—starting at age 50. As a child, Maura dreamed of traveling the world, making new friends and publishing ideas to ignite and inspire the best in human nature and society. Though often kept indoors and groomed by parents for a career in law, she left the matrix at age 23 to pioneer her own path to happiness, passion and power. Following a decorated corporate management career and time as a home schooling mom, Maura set out anew to make her ultimate mark. In addition to her book series entitled The Art of Happiness which is a story-based series to help others grow in self-awareness and move from victimhood to personal advancement and growth, Maura created the Foundations of Happiness eCourse (for those really intent on moving from Victim to Beneficiary, on changing their life perspectives; on seeing failures as opportunities for greatness; on discovering innate talents and more as seeds to desire and destiny) . Inner Peace In Tumultuous Times (Joan Sotkin Part II)
Join me for part two of my conversation with Joan Sotkin, host of the Property Show podcast. In this episode, we continue the conversation on a wide array of topics; particularly the aftermath of the 2016 election, and how we can move forward. We talk politics, religion, consciousness, meditation, prosperity, and so much more. And be sure not to miss part one! Joan’s bio: For the past 30 years, I have been examining alternative ways of dealing with life on many different levels. Defining success as merely making a lot of money and having social or career status has never made sense to me. As a result, I have been looking for something deeper and more meaningful and learning to integrate what I discover into my business and personal life. Prosperity Place is my humble contribution to those of you who, like myself, want to experience the “more” of life while creating satisfying and prosperous lives. I don’t believe that it is possible to separate career and/or business development from personal growth because who we are expresses itself through whatever we do. What you will find on these pages is the result of my search for physical, emotional, spiritual and financial comfort. I don’t pretend to have all the answers. What I do have is a series of learning experiences, the essence of which I like to share with people like you. In the early 1980s, while attending 12-step programs including Debtors Anonymous and Codependents Anonymous, I began to understand the connection between emotions and the life stories we create for ourselves, including our finances. Years of working to release my own repressed emotions helped deepen my understanding of how we act out family-of-origin issues through our businesses and finances. I love working with forward-thinking individuals who are willing to implement new ways of being with themselves and their commercial ventures. As I continue to learn and grow, my passion is sharing with others and helping them find both peace of mind and prosperity. Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I live, with its expansive skies, friendly people, and abundance of healers provides me with the comfort and peace I have always craved. Thanks to the Internet, which I have been using since 1995, I can live in this wonderful town with my precious dog, Angel, and reach out to clients around the world. Every afternoon, Angel and I walk at our fabulous dog park that has one-mile-long trails with a full view of the city. I offer an open invitation to anyone who wants to meet me at the park and walk with us! Joan Sotkin : Inner Peace In Tumultuous Times
The Think Outside the Lines podcast returns this week with an all-new episode featuring Joan Sotkin, host of the Property Show podcast. In her first appearance earlier this year, we discussed all things money, and if you haven’t heard it yet, I strongly recommend you go back and check it out. In this episode, we touch upon a wide array of other topics; particularly the aftermath of the 2016 election, and how we can move forward. We talk politics, religion, consciousness, meditation, prosperity, and so much more. And because there is so much to digest, Ive divided this episode into two parts. This woman has lived so much life, and offers such incredible perspective. I promise you will find many gems in these conversations. It’s time to think outside the lines, again, with Joan Sotkin.
