    Vaazhkaila oru Vilayattu

Since the beginning of time, when a group of people started to employ another group of people to work for them and make money, they have devised several tactics to improve productivity ie., extract work from the given resource. With the advent and penetration of gadgets and internet, the whole of workforce across the world has been gamified making the workforce run behind something that is very hard of impossible to achieve. As consumers we too play a part in somebody's such pursuit without even us realising.  This episode discusses about the gamification and digitisation of the work evaluation and the perils of it.  Please have a listen

    Unakellam Sondha Veedu kekkudha?

A few days back I watched an YouTube video of a startup founder turned content creator. He put up valuable points of the cons of buying one's own house from a financial perspective. Today when I was scrolling through his twitter feed, he confessed that he does really own a house. so why does people who already own a house, discourage people from getting their own nest? What is the point behind this? In this episode we explore the politics behind land ownership and the authority that comes with it. After seventy long years of independence, we still see that some strong forces which own majority of land, make it hard for the oppressed people to own a house or even a cent of land.  Do listen and give me your feedback.

Tempo ellam Vechu Kadathirukkom - Bizarre Kidnappings in history

Kidnapping and holding people for ransom is nothing new to us. It has been in the history for a very long time. But as they saying goes, some kidnaps are weirder than others.  Kidnapping is a different kind of torture than killing and robbing. The emotional trauma the victim has to go through is very real and in most cases, normal people going about their daily life, is snatched off their freedom and their life is never the same again.  In this episode we talk about - The Lindbergh Child Kidnapping - The Getty Curse - Inspired the movie "All the money in the world" - And the curios case of kidnapping by North Korean Leader - A film star and director to make movies for him.  With this episode, we are going on a small hiatus to hone our skills and come back with better content.  Until Then,  Bye You can write to us : [email protected]

    Neeyum Naanum Vera Illada

Our world has been divided more than anytime. Each person lives in their own bubble and they are not very welcoming of the opinions of the other people. The way we consume news and awareness has become fickle. Content has been tailored and it is targetted for us to not have a whole view of any issues.  When it becomes the real world, life threatening problem we have to sit up and take note of what we think and why we think that? Listen on.

    Good luck and Good Night

Historically, there had been a witch hunt for people who had dared to speak the side which isn't so popular. A democracy is for the people, by the people and of the people. But at the same time, it is made of the majority. What happens when the majority decides to do the witch hunt? Who will stand up to it and how?  The establishment have always tried to influence the majority to find an enemy in the minorities or a group of people who have different ideologies. Only a fair process of trail and investigation could make sure that it doesn't become a mob justice.  In this episode we have Chennai's important Podcaster Chennaikaaran make an appearance in our show and talk about a movie which affected him in recent times.  You can also watch and Subscribe to his YouTube Channel here Listen on.

    Aaniye Pudunga Vendam

It is said that the next big thing is already here and what is worse, it has been here for  at least a decade. There is a subtle difference between invention and innovation. Innovation can be one thing and packaging and taking full advantage of it is different thing altogether.  In this episode, we are going to see The much feared Blitzkrieg German warfare during World War II was actually conceptualized by British during World War I. They already had the theory and practical knowledge about such attacks, but how did they miss out?  The first Digital camera was developed by Kodak but was put aside in favor of their film business - Kodak filed bankruptcy in 2012. What happened? Xerox PARC had some cutting edge technology in their hat when Steve Jobs visited there. How did it give birth to the computer systems as we know it? Xerox which could have become a grand company like Apple, Microsoft and IBM put together, missed out in the race. How and why? Hope you enjoy the episode.

Musical Chair - American Presidential Election and Media Evolution

The main headlines for any paper after the Presidential election is just one. How can a newspaper get it 100% wrong? That too, 1,50,000 copies printed.  The role of media in any presidential election is very important. Until recently the politicians believed the Newspapers and the TV cameras are the only window through which people can see them. Hence as the media evolved to different forms it took the politicians along with it to play along. Sometimes it said that is what the viewers wanted to see. Sometimes it gave the audience something new.  This episode contains Chicago Tribune Debacle with Harry S. Truman and 1948  presidential election.  The way Eisenhower first dabbled with TV advertisements for presidents and the Remington Rand company's Univac's introduction to media and politics.  Why Navy blue became power suite and Grey suit became a thing of past? May be it has something to do with the Presidential debate of Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Nixon in 1960.  Do give it a listen, if you found it interesting drop in a comment, spread the word. Your feedback means a lot.

    Concentration Camps

The world has a habit of getting into trouble every now and then. The worst of war atrocities happened in World War 2. So we believe. But there had been many instances where the war atrocities are happening and whatever happened during the WWII kinda dwarfs every other atrocity. Here in this episode we bring some of the concentration camps or re-education camps or intermittent camps or whatever the way a discrimination is justified today.  In this episode, we see about Gulag, Boer War, American Civil War and Serbian - Bosnian War and the subsequent inhuman war crimes. What do they all have in common? Concentration camps. We should learn from history, because history repeats again. And we should be aware to not make the same mistakes again.

    Chinna Kallu Pedha Laabam

In History there are numerous instances where a small thing had caused a big impact. In this episode, we will see how a pie created a fire which raged London for four days and similarities of the event with current Covid Management, A word uttered off field changing the course of the match in 1933 as well as 2007 and how a man who was trying to tally the account for 75 cents stumbled upon a hacker looking for nuclear secrets.  The episode is in Tamil and hope you will enjoy this Tanglish content I am putting out.  Thanks,  B.
