Recognizing the shift in market sentiment is easy to recognize but emotions change the way that people thing and emotional decisions are never correct. Bubba explains that you must be logical and separate yourself from fear and listening to the pundits and advisers on TV.

Hedging your portfolio is something that Bubba has preached for years and uses Wednesday trade as a perfect example of not worrying about a market meltdown because you are protected your portfolio and will benefit from market meltdowns and fear based sell offs.

Bubba talks about the disaster known as Washington D.C. talking about the crooks that could care less about the Americans unless it benefits them. They are only interested in how much money they can pocket at our expense taking advantage of every crisis to take more of our cash.

Markets melted down on Wednesday which should have been no surprise to anyone. Bubba talks about the sell off and reminds listeners that this is exactly the type of action we should have expected. Obscure news item and the sellers show up and sell without regard to price and time.

Bubba brings up the concept of artificial intelligence and asks Xander if he thinks it is helping or hurting. Xander is very torn and thinks A.I. is generally good, but the loss of jobs will be a necessary evil of more technology. Xander gives his best advice to someone just entering college. He says to take the time to enjoy yourself and all the new opportunities you have around you; don't spend all your time worrying about the next step in life.

Xander also shares his experience outside of the classroom, which he deemed almost as valuable. He talked about the bridge between childhood and adulthood and how valuable being a college student can be for crossing that bridge. Bubba and Xander discuss some of the great innovators in today's society, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. 

Bubba asks Xander about his college experience in the classroom. Xander talks about how he started off as an economics major because of a class he took in high school, and also added a business major later on because he didn't want to graduate early!

Today on The Bubba Show, Bubba is joined by his son Xander, who recently graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University. Xander explains his journey to the financial services industry and how he eventually ended up at Edward Jones. He talks about his passion for financials in general and being on a team, and how that fostered his interest in being a financial advisor. 

Bubba explains that you cannot fight the market and you should not try unless you plan to lose big. Bubba urges traders to be aware of what is going on and be prepared to react, because predicting is a sure way to lose. Markets are dull, which means a grind higher, be ready to react to the turn.

There is no way to know when the market top will arrive, but it will be here and the longs will get toasted. The volume we see in markets today is retail money, the commercials are letting them buy as they sell. Short positions are at record numbers for banks.

The system is a mess and no one cares. Markets are as complacent as they can be. There is no growth and yet, buyers cannot get enough. Complacency is at epic proportions, meanwhile creating a vacuum to the downside when the time comes.

Today on The Bubba Show, Bubba discusses how the fear is gone, while the belief on the street is that the markets will never go down again. North Korean ransomware evidently means nothing to buyers who just want to pile into the market. The VIX is going to make an all-time low as Bubba has predicted for the past couple of weeks.

Bubba and Matt agree on the challenge of the markets and what we need to see. They talk about the ability to trade other markets like oil, which they were both short during the recent sell off. Matt and Bubba talk about Cattle, Hogs, Grains and the dollar, as well as what their expectations are in the near future.

Matt Demeter from DemeterResearch.com joins the show for his weekly visit and read on the technicals in the markets. Matt says it has been frustrating and a real challenge to trade under current conditions. Bubba agrees, stating that there is no way to tell when this will end, as the consolidation is creating extremely tough trading conditions.

The markets are stuck in the mud and volumes are almost at zero. Bubba explains the challenges that are out there and why it’s so important to be patient in these tough times. The battle that many try to fight against the market wind up losing as is common among traders who get caught up believing the market is wrong. The market is always right.

Bubba is back and starts today’s show wishing all the Moms a Happy Mother’s Day before digging into the issues with the markets. The relentless garbage being spewed by the pundits is getting under Bubba’s skin, as he cannot stand the way the media and talking heads are misleading the average trader and investor. Volatility is crashing down and the media is misrepresenting the facts.

The Cubs are struggling to get going right now, but both Witz' think they will turn it around in time to win the division and make some noise in the playoffs again. The Rockies are playing some great baseball behind their young staff. The Dodgers are also hanging around with Diamondbacks to round out the NL West. The Nationals continue to fire, but will their bullpen be able to last throughout the season? Stay tuned for the return of Roz next week. 

Bubba kicks off the baseball breakdown by talking about the AL East. He's impressed by what the Yankees and Orioles are doing right now, but still thinks the Red Sox have the best chance at winning the division. The Astros continue to dominate Dallas with Keuchel and their extremely potent lineup.  

The current odds for the NBA Championship are as follows: Golden State -300, Cleveland +260, and San Antonio +1500. Xander and Bubba both agree that the best value is offered by the Spurs, who have a legitimate shot to knock off the Warriors if they can control the pace of play during the series. Xander thinks the Spurs take it in 7. 

This week, The Sporting Edge is joined by a very special guest, founder Todd "Bubba" Horwitz. The Witz and Witz duo start by breaking down the epic meltdown of James Harden and the Rockets during Game 6 against the Spurs. Harden didn't even attempt a shot until midway through the second quarter, and finished with a season low 10 points. The Spurs will move on to face the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. 

Bubba asks, why are advisers guaranteed a fee? Why shouldn’t they work on an incentive? The world is backwards when investors have to pay for advice that is wrong and more importantly, the brokers and advisers only care about their fees.

Brokers and advisers are next up on Bubba’s hit list as he breaks down the misinformation they give out. Bubba talks about risk-on risk-off which is a total crock because if you knew the right time to adjust, it would mean you could time the market, which is the same as trying to predict what the markets will do.

The news has become a joke and Bubba expresses his disdain for the network reporting; never reporting the facts and only reporting on the events they believe will drive ratings. Bubba talks about the VIX sitting at 11 year lows, while the pundits are reporting 25 year lows, which is incorrect. Bubba has emailed them to correct the information.

Today on The Bubba Show, Bubba talks about the market conditions and how painful it is for active traders. The lack of volatility and the lack of volume have created a market that is almost impossible to trade. Markets are in a stage whereby the poor, innocent, average investor is being trapped because of the lousy reporting and cheerleading from the pundits.

Both Angie and Bubba are very bullish grains and believe corn and wheat will work much higher, while beans could be a little weaker. Bubba is not bearish beans, but believes the levels will hold. Bubba and Angie discuss the livestock trade, both believe that he tops are in and a big sell off is just around the corner.

Bubba believes that you should always be 100% hedged the way his model works while Angie hedges about 50-60% with her methods. Either way, both Bubba and Angie believe that protection is the key and the ability to keep the upside open for big markets is very important.

Angie discusses the impact of South America and China, while Bubba asserts its more about following the money. Angie and Bubba talk about hedging and how farmers and producers should be hedging their crops and livestock. Both Angie and Bubba believe in hedging, the only difference is how much to hedge.
