BONUS: Seeking Answers to Spiritual Questions (my talk at church)
I gave a talk at church on Sunday, and when I asked on Instagram stories if anyone wanted to hear, I got a 94% YES! The other 6% said they have no spiritual questions.... This is something I've thought about a lot personally, as well as for my children and dear friends who have struggled with questions of the spiritual nature, and so I was excited to collect my thoughts about the topic. This pertains to parenting, because I strive to be spiritually strong for myself AND my kids, to be in tune to how I can best mother them, and guide them spiritually. It stems from a talk: Seeking Answers to Spiritual Questions with my own thoughts weaved in. For those not of my faith (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), we take turns sharing talks to the congregation, the last time I shared was a year and a half ago. I LOVE the opportunity to do a deep dive, it truly boosts my spirituality, many hate the public speaking aspect of addressing a chapel full of 300! Here is additional reading that might be helpful: What to expect at Sunday services Memorize scriptures with your family Please feel free to ask me any questions, I'm always open! The tears came out today! I wasn't planning to share this today, but I just got back from the gym where I ran into someone (I barely know) and we talked for an hour... I walked away so benefitted from that experience, that it reminded me of how sharing our vulnerable stories has the opportunity to bless others in countelss ways, many we will never know about. Ep 9: Graduation Recap, how I broke trust, & then gained trust with my son
My son just graduated college! My friends on Instagram saw me travel to his graduation on Thursday this week, and you may remember how I've shared in the past that he chose not to participte in high school graduation (and how I eventually became ok with that) but that he dediced to indeed walk in his college graduation. I shared a video on IG about him growing up, and the things I EXPECTED him to do that he didn't, and my growth process in all of that. Watch that video here. I then had follow up questions from other mama's asking me, "How is your relationship now?" which I touch on here, and delve deeper into here in this podcast episode. It's a little choppy towards the end, because as I was chatting on my porch into my voice memo (where I record these episodes) my neighbor came over to talk to me, and I had to stop. Since I had to stitch on the ending part 2 anyway, I cut that part out. As always, I share about the benefits of Team Trusted, and how they have helped me and others on the team become a more trusted, safe space for their kids, and we'd love to have you join us.
