How do we counter and defeat the encroaching fascism, Reform , Restore and the massive swing towards illiberalism across the UK, and indeed the world?  This series of podcasts is about giving you -us - ideas of how we can act in order to halt the current fall into hatred, intolerance, division and pogrom and reverse this regression into the worst aspects of human society. On this podcast Sam Hamad, a Senior News Editor with The New Arab and an historian specialising in illiberal ideologies, shares his thoughts on recent political machinations until this point in time (I'll add a link to an article on his thesis mentioned in this). And Colin Turbett from Ukraine Solidarity Campaign Scotland on what Trump, Farage Tommy Robinson and elements of the left have in common, and how we counter these narratives. Damien Donnelly outlines a shift in his political support toward the Scottish Green Party, driven by a belief that they are the only party offering a principled defense of the LGBTQ+ community against rising far-right influence.

Sam Hamad on his lifelong commitment to Scottish Independence, which he views as his election priority. He supports a strong Scottish Green vote to act as a progressive "anchor," ensuring the SNP sticks to a radical social-democratic agenda. He expresses his deep distrust of Keir Starmer, specifically citing Labour's foreign policy regarding the Middle East (Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran) as a deal-breaker.

Graham Campbell outlines a strategic vision for the SNP to break the constitutional "logjam" by securing a majority, which he argues would force Westminster to grant a Section 30 order for an independence referendum and makes predictions for after the election.

Maggie Chapman emphasizes that Scotland is at a crossroads, facing a cost-of-living crisis and the immediate physical threats of the climate crisis. The Greens position themselves as the "radicals" necessary to make hope possible through bold action.
