He has owned the paper for 20 years, dedicating it to connecting people through community stories. Originally from Onaway, Michigan, Dr. Parr's journey to Alberta included a significant period in Australia, where he taught veterinary medicine. Dr. Parr holds four degrees and supported himself through his first degree by working as a butcher for 12 years. His career eventually led him to Alberta, where he discovered the town of Onoway, reminiscent of his childhood home in Michigan. He is highly regarded in the community for his generous contributions to various organizations and his deep love for the community, which mirrors the nostalgic charm of his hometown.

Kim sits down with Shane and talks about her families experience with drug addiction, and how the system let them down. Kim's son got addicted to medications, and sadly passed away in 2023 from an overdose.

This journey inspired her to start two health businesses and the Empowered Canadians organization to educate and engage citizens in democracy. An Indigenous Entertainer from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Also a  registered member of the Alexander First Nation, Alberta. His passion for Arts and culture have always been prominent in his upbringing, empowering him to become a three-time World Champion Hoop Dancer. Throughout his 25-year career of performing, Arcand’s singing, dancing and traditional flute skills have earned him numerous accolades. Dallas is a graduate of the Mount Royal University transfer program majoring in behavioral sciences and Indigenous history. He also is a graduate of the National Indigenous Professional Artist (NIPAT) program, and since 2020 has been an instructor at the NIPAT program teaching and mentoring Indigenous artists. In early 2020 when the pandemic hit, on his Facebook page Dallas started a free online fitness class and program called ‘Powwow Dance Aerobics’ PWDA.
