What's Entrepreneurship? Hosted by MURPH.

hey. I'm 26. I went to a state university. I'm just a normal dude who entered the corporate world and found myself in random jobs I never would have wished for myself when I was younger. Long-story-short, I started coaching baseball lessons as a side-hustle, and eventually built my coaching up enough to go full-time self-employed. There is nothing special about what I did. Anyone can do this. People don't realize entrepreneurship is as simple as that - throw this on in the background & at least just learn the OPPORTUNITIES available to you through simple, modern entrepreneurial practices! LFG.

    e5: 30M Views from a Sit-Up Challenge ft. @healthy_collegekid

This video covers the recent social media trend of challenges that typically follow a series or a per-follower structure. For example, my first guest, Dani, recently just got a 30 MILLION view video which was Day 1 of her 1000 sit-up challenge. She did 100 sit-ups every day for 7 days, posing the question what would her physique results be after this challenge? She just started posting a month or so ago and is already at 50K followers across her platforms. So there's some serious power here. We analyze Dani's challenge as well as other challenges from creators. One of which gained them 158K followers in just 14 days. Another that yielder another creator 108 MILLION views on a single view. Dani is just days removed from these tens of millions of views, so she describes what she learned, why she decided to do this, and how she was so effective. It's really just a study into human tendencies. And Dani is so Impressive as a college freshman to be so aware of all this, play into it, and use her relatability and personality to capture the viewers!

e4: Story-Telling ; Connecting with Viewers & Why it Matters

We listen to and tell stories EVERY DAY. Every show and movie we watch is a story. Why do we tell stories? To share value whether that is information, a laugh, a lesson. So this is a good way to provide value to viewers. But also, it's a good way to connect with your viewers because they get to learn more about you and see you as a human. People are more comfortable with familiarity...and the more familiar they are with you, the more they trust you, and if we have something to sell to provide them further value, they are more willing to buy. But why do you need to do this now? Well social platforms are LITERALLY telling you they'll BOOST the performance of the video. Of course it still has to be a good video (which we'll demonstrated where to start), but if platforms want you to do it, and the logic on why viewers want you to do it are there...then DO IT.

e3: Establishing Target Audience & Strategic Content HOOKS 🪝

In the 3rd week of my content class, BRAND NEW, I teach a couple key fundamentals in content: finding your niche and giving your target audience reason to watch your content through. Remember, content strategy is important because if you can provide value to your target audience, they will watch, they will become a fan/follower if you continue to deliver, and they will potentially buy. So for people that are creating content related to their business, this is a powerful tool to create sustainable business through leads, consultation, etc. In almost every line of business, you can crush in content. Just like a blue collar job you wouldn't think would align with a modern technology avenue of business like social media, I can guarantee you'd seen a power-washing or lawn care video. Be creative, there are always ways to make your content engaging - and your first steps are establishing your niche and ideal client avatar. From there, you make content with a strong hook to get them to watch until solution and ultimate value. If you got value out of this, please give me a 5-star rating as it'll help be get the best guests for us to learn from in the future. And remember to follow me @murphbusiness on all platforms!

e2: How to Make Content, How It Works, & the Algorithm explained

Operating a social media platform is inherently entrepreneurial. Why? Well, you are in charge of everything. No boss telling you what to do and not to do. Unlimited creative opportunities. Direct communication with potential customers. An outlet waiting to be monetized. Even if you haven't given content creation a thought, listen to this to understand how the machine works and how it could possibly benefit you. I break down the short-form content game - everything from the different platforms, to how algorithms work, and all the content "buckets". Remember, at the end of the day, this is a free marketing tool that can produce viewership companies literally pay $100,000s for. That alone shows how powerful it is. And like you hear all the time, please follow this podcast and give this a 5-star rating if you found anything in here valuable. I am trying to create value for you while I grow my entrepreneurial abilities through teaching. The more credibility I have, the more credible guests I can recruit, and the more motivated I am to continue these episodes and improve them.

e1: "I want to do CONTENT, but idk where to start :("

Tomorrow, you can wake up with a 2 MILLION views and 10K+ followers. It happens nearly every day. Companies pay $100,000s for that kind of viewership in traditional advertising methods like commercials. But you can do it for FREE, by YOUR RULES, and EVERY DAY. That's really powerful. Although this could happen, you probably won't have that in a day - it took me a few years to get 160K followers (@icoachbaseball). Which has gotten me brand deals, connections with some of my most beneficial relationships, and additional income streams. But honestly, it wasn't that hard. And even better...I learned so many lessons from my mistakes to teach others. This whole episode is recorded from a content class I teach every week called BRAND NEW. Get it? For people Brand New to content, creating a NEW BRAND? Anyways, I tried to package everything together simply to give you the first digestible steps into what content is, why you should do it, and what your mindset should be. If you find this valuable, please LEAVE A 5-STAR REVIEW. I want to recruit the best guests I can find to provide value to us and that would certainly help! And while I got you, send this to a friend who is sitting on gold if they just made content the right way!
