CollectEco discussion: Eliminating waste by saving quality items from strip out.
For this episode of the 'What's The Big Idea', we are joined by Steve from CollectEco who discusses the distribution of items procured from sites. CollectEco are a distribution company of items that would typically be landfilled from site, this can range from the 'bread and butter' furniture, timber and metals to the extraordinary pianos. These items are taken from sites are distributed to developing schools, communities, hospitals and more. We discuss the difficulties of this transaction, what we can do to enable a circular economy and general questions that should be of interest. Construction London & South and Central South's preconstruction teams share their journey in designing Willmott Dixon's first net zero carbon development in operation
Today we hear from a Soulla Louizou, a design coordinator at Construction London & South, and Simon Waites, preconstruction manager at Construction Central South. Soulla will give us on update on how they are going about at inception stage on achieving Net Zero Carbon Buildings in operation, and Simon will give us a run through of what they have done to date, including their challenges for delivering the first Willmott Dixon net zero carbon in operation development for Wiltshire Council. The project is Silverwood School, North Wiltshire.
