He is commonly known as Austin Dobson. Dobson first gained attention by appearing in St. Paul's magazine, published by Anthony Trollope, and he gathered enough material to publish his first book of verse in 1873, Vignettes in Rhyme. Dobson is perhaps best known for his promotion and use of European metrical forms such as the ballade, rondel, rondeau and villanelle, but all written in English. (Summary by mungojerry311)
