Our State Project's Point of the Spear, Eugene Hough!

Join Eugene Hough of the Legacy Marker Program as he tells us about the amazing work being accomplished toward the restoration of Old Swedes Cemetery in Chester, PA. This state project, initiated by our State Regent, Marguerite Fritsch, is already resonating goodness through all the participants' Love of Service, especially our DAR members who contribute toward the immediate physical tasks such as locating of buried gravestones through ground-penetrating radar, restoring those gravestones to the surface, clearing damaging tree roots, and repairing the surrounding wall of the cemetery; but also the resonating outreach to so many local community leaders and children. As Eugene shares, local students and CAR members will get to learn important trade, historical, and management skills. Soaring over this great effort is a recognition of the very earliest members of the Chester community which include Native Americans, William Penn's first landing crew, and a signer of the Declaration of Independence, John Morton, who is buried in this cemetery. Through this effort we celebrate our great country and its endless resiliency toward a thriving future!Enjoy!
