WTFamicom: A Gaming Podcast

Welcome to "WTFamicom" -- The gaming podcast for people who hate gaming podcasts. Join Dan and Nick as they dive deep into the topics you're too afraid to ask about (or never cared for) within the gaming world. It's the best polygon nonsense you'll ever hear!

  1. 117

OMGame Boy #67 "8-bit Bowie: 40 Years of Labyrinth"

A twisted maze full of deception populated with outrageously gross creatures awaits! Now enough about our podcast, let's talk about the 1986 David Bowie/Jim Henson classic "Labyrinth", just in time for its 40th anniversary. From box office bomb to cult classic, in-between it was also a video game. Yup, there was only one based off the film and we get lost talking about it. Why is there so much text? Is Henson Island worse than Epstein Island? We try to find some answers as well as chat about other maze-like games inspired by Metroid and Castlevania.

  2. 116

Episode #80 - Under the CPU

A tagline for Disney's The Little Mermaid is "Somewhere under the sea and beyond your imagination is an adventure in fantasy". Unfortunately this does not apply to under the gaming sea. The blue deep there is a dark abyss full of bad controls, intense drowning music and electricity for some reason. And that's not even including that wet stain I have on my pants from all the shark jump scares - that's water I swear. So what makes game developers want to create water levels? On today's episode we go under the sea (figuratively and at some point literally AS Sebastian the crab) to discuss levels in Mario, TMNT, Bioshock, Abzu, Metal Gear Solid and many more!

  3. 115

OMGame Boy #66 "PvP Quiz Show"

When you're friends with someone for a really long time you know almost everything about them. Likes, dislikes, fart smells, infidelity stats, etc. But would you know what video game character they were? That question could make or break a friendship so of course we had to find out. Join us as we take quizzes for the other person to see which gaming character they are. Is one of us more Mario or Wario? Cloud or Sephiroth? Lara Croft's butler or giant freezer? Even though there is no winner, there's definitely a loser (both of us).

  4. 114

Episode #79 - Fear and Loading in Las Vegas

When was the last time you took a drug-fueled surreal road trip to Las Vegas with your attorney to chase the American Dream? If the answer is never then welcome to bat country because we are about to take you on a ride. Oh wait, did you think we meant ACTUAL Las Vegas? Sorry but we only like to place bets in casinos of the pixel and polygon variety. In today's episode we are going full method Johnny Depp and talking poker, slots and roulette in games from Sonic, Fallout and Cuphead just to name a few.

  5. 113

OMGame Boy #65 "In Loving Memory Card"

We gather here today with friends and family to pay our respects to the video games that were cancelled before release and never saw the light of day. What kind of god would do this? Didn't he want gamers to experience the polygon violence of the cancelled PS1 game "Thrill Kill"? Or learn the mystery behind why Clint Eastwood wanted to return for a cancelled Dirty Harry game for the Xbox 360? On today's episode we eulogize those video games we lost either from bad development, bad marketing or just being plain bad.

  6. 112

    Episode #78 - MMO, Behave!

What do Austin Powers (International Man of Mystery) and MMOs (Massive Multiplayer Online games) have in common? People entering dangerous new worlds? Groovy! Lazers and high-tech gadgets? Right on! Main characters that are nonstop horny? Shagadelic, baby! But what about MMOs that aren't as popular? For every Austin Powers there is a Love Guru, and for every World of Warcraft there is a Planet Hot Wheels. On today's episode, we chat about the grooviest online games out today and also unfreeze some forgotten and inactive ones. This ain't no mini-me episode, so change your middle name to danger and get randy with us!

  7. 111

    OMGame Boy #64 "Chiptune Challengers"

Remember that Zendaya tennis movie CHALLENGERS? Ever watch it and think "I wish instead of tennis, they hit video game music back and forth and also Zendaya doesn't show up"? Good, because that's exactly what we did! On today's bonus episode, we volley music from old Nintendo games at each other. You can even play along at home but please remain silent. Are we taking a big swing (pun intended) with this idea? Maybe. But once you hear them, you'll agree these chiptunes deserve the Wimbledon treatment!

  8. 110

Episode #77 - Rage Quit Against the Machine

Rage Against the Machine is famously known for having a revolutionary, anti-authoritarian and incendiary sound. Want to know who else fits that exact description? The PlayStation 2! Who doesn't remember the revolutionary sound of the startup screen. Or the incendiary nature of it possibly overheating. And as for anti-authoritarian - have you seen its library? No government would ever give half of those games rights. Fortunately for you we love a good protest. On today's episode, we look up the lowest rated PS2 games on Metacritic and make sure their voices are heard!

  9. 109

PAST PIXELS: The 2025 Clip Show

What a year it's been! We took some time off, worked way less, and still complained. So not much changed from last year. But there were way more video game shenanigans than ever! We created Metal Gear Solid beer, reacted to Resident Evil adult content, and even did video game stand-up comedy in Rodney Dangerfield voices. That is just some of the dumb stuff you get on this podcast so we put together a clip show for the rest. Enjoy this bonus episode of some of our favorite moments from this last year, some even involving video games - a shock I know! See y'all in 2026.

  10. 108

    Episode #76 - Holiday Gift Guide 2025

Did you know that Jesus Christ was actually born on Cyber Monday!? They don't teach you that in the Bible but it's true. His parents were just as excited about deals as anyone else this time of year and I don't blame them. You think they cared about frankincense and myrrh? They were trying to snag a PS5! We all know the holidays can be stressful when you wait until the last minute to buy gifts. Luckily we are here to save Jesus, Christmas, and you with our annual HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE! We give you recommendations for video games, electronics, stocking stuffers, and more. We'll give you a gamer's gambit of ideas that's sure to shake the celebration and take you to a whole new level. Tell those wise men to take a hike because after we're done, the nativity is gonna look like the coolest mancave game room ever!

  11. 107

OMGame Boy #63 "New Name Plus"

In season 5 of Breaking Bad, TV history was made when Walter White uttered the phrase "Say my name". I had to look all that up btw because I've never seen the show. But I like the idea of having a new name and being way cooler than I am now. But what if I were cooler and had the same name? Or had the same name and was the biggest f*cking loser on the planet? Well, there's no better way to find out than by using video games! On today's bonus episode, we find similarly named characters to us in gaming and see if their lives are better or worse to live as them. Heisenberg might have had people fearing his name, but he never had the advantage of attempting a new name plus!

  12. 106

    Episode #75 - 2D or not 2D

William Shakespeare's resume is unparalleled. The famous playwright wrote Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and King Lear just to name a few. Unfortunately, his genius only went so far. Did he write any plays about Mario, Sonic, or Earthworm Jim? Did he take two-dimensional sprites and turn them into polygons with mixed results? Looks like all Shakespeare knew was ado about nothing. Fortunately for you, we know how to wax poetic about this topic. On today's episode, we look at video game characters and franchises that jumped from 2D to 3D. Shakespeare might have written Macbeth but his head would have exploded if he knew what Mega Man's first foray into 3D was!

  13. 105

OMGame Boy #62 "Twitch or Treat"

It's Halloween, everyone's entitled to one good scare. Unless that scare is coming from a horror game that people like to stream on Twitch. WE AIN'T SCARED, THOUGH. To prove it, we decided to finally learn about the most recent terrifying video games the kids are playing now. Jump scares? Check. Us screaming like little girls? Double check. On today's bonus episode, we venture into uncharted territory of horror with The Backrooms, Mannequin, and more! Turn out all the lights and look up your favorite streamers because it's time to go Twitch or treating!

  14. 104

OMGame Boy #61 "Click or Treat"

What's scarier than being attacked by rabid zombies and humanoid nurses? The only thing that even comes close is getting caught watching adult videos when you were a kid on your parent's computer. Those monsters got nothing on getting yelled at by your mom. But we're adults now so that is about to change! And maybe we want our adult videos to include our favorite horror video game franchises that we played as a kid. Maybe we're into that or not, we don't know! On today's bonus episode, we take Halloween to a whole new level by searching for Resident Evil and Silent Hill adult content. We know the characters, now it's time to find out their favorite positions!

  15. 103

    Episode #74 - Mario Kartography

The year is 1997. Mother Teresa is still partying past midnight. "Titanic" became the first hit movie to have a guy fall on a boat propeller. And a new kart racing video game just broke our brains. MARIO KART 64 was truly groundbreaking in its gameplay and physics. Unfortunately, none of that matters because we only want to study the maps! Every gamer's favorite topic is cartography, right? Good, because we critiqued the layouts of all 16 courses. Which ones made us sick? Which ones do we think should be gay icons? Do we actually know what cartography is or did we use it because "cart" is in there? We'll never tell but we'll also use red shells on you if you don't listen!

  16. 102

OMGame Boy #60 "Bird Call of Duty"

Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! Wait, forget it, everyone go home. It's just a bird. And it looks like they're made of either pixels or polygons. That's weird but also makes total sense. Ever since the early 80s, birds of every kind have shown up in a video game and they are only going to keep showing up so why fight it? On today's bonus episode, we flock like birds of a feather and squawk about every kind of bird that showed up in a game. From the 1982 arcade game Joust (you ride a bird!), to Tony Hawk Pro Skater (a human named after a bird!) all the way to the present with Horizon Zero Dawn (metal af birds!). Let's go ruffle some feathers!

  17. 101

Episode #73 - Controller? I Hardly Know Her!

What do Rodney Dangerfield and a limited edition Wu-Tang Clan video game controller from 1999 have in common? If you said a rap album, you are absolutely sort of correct (look up "Rappin Rodney" ASAP). But how about lack of respect! Rodney Dangerfield never got it and that abomination of a controller never got it either. Some video game controllers were too ambitious for their own good and didn't get any respect so we decided to finally change all of that. On today's episode, we take a look at controllers from Atari all the way to PlayStation 5 and we put them through the ringer. Loosen your necktie, folks, because we're doing it all with the help of everyone's favorite comedian born in 1921!

  18. 100

OMGame Boy #59 "Metal Beer Solid"

The two taglines for the 1988 Tom Cruise movie Cocktail were "They thought he was good, they were wrong...he was the best" and "When he pours, he reigns". I don't know about you but if I had to pick one video game franchise those can also apply to is METAL GEAR SOLID. Think about it - Solid Snake is the best at what he does AND he is always pouring shots, be it from the gun variety but still. So has anyone ever thought to combine these two? On today's bonus episode, we stealthily create alcoholic drinks inspired by the most stealthy PlayStation game series. If you thought a Nuclear-equipped walking battle tank was scary, just wait until you see the ABV on some of these drinks!

  19. 99

Behind The Cutscenes: Six Year Anniversary Special

In 2019, our gaming podcast for people who hate gaming podcasts started. In the six years since, we've endured numerous break-ups, weird medical issues, turning 40 years old, disappointing download numbers, enemies turning into fans, followers blocking us on social media, botched Sonic the Hedgehog cookies, and one occasion of iHeartRadio accidentally putting us in their Instagram story. So how do we celebrate all these accomplishments? Back in June, we were interviewed by Ashton from the "Podcurious" podcast about our show - how it got started, our process, etc. It is probably the only time we talked sincerely about this weird monster we've created so enjoy our episode...of his episode!Follow PodCurious on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/show/4RtDjm4KwXbgAyKuDgMRkx?si=GBva6DggTLaA6c9J9q6kMA

  20. 98

    Episode #72 - Mashin': Impossible

The Mission: Impossible movies have Tom Cruise saving the world by doing insane stunts. From hanging on a plane, to driving a motorcycle off a cliff, there is nothing crazier than what he's done. But has he ever had to press buttons in a timed order just to beat a giant Hydra? Or has he ever had to constantly button mash furiously until his thumbs hurt just to get away from a PS2 style boulder? I thought not. Tom Cruise has never faced a video game QUICK TIME EVENT and thank God, because they are terrible. And terribly funny! On today's episode we look at 30+ years of QTEs and pick out our favorites and funniest. Get ready for a Mashin': Impossible, agent. This episode will self destruct in five seconds.

  21. 97

    OMGame Boy #58 "Game Over/Under"

As a '90s kid, there was nothing more important than playing video games. The only catch was that you had to rely on dumb parents to buy them for you. Why wouldn't these stinky adults just give me their stupid credit card like I asked? Was affording all these games and consoles that much of a hassle? How high (or low?) did these things cost? Wait...were my mom and dad secretly poor? On today's bonus episode, we deal with 30+ years of pettiness as well as the topical subject of inflation by chatting about video game prices from the 1990s. It's Game Over/Under time!

  22. 96

Episode #71 - Magical Mystery Tier

Did you know that we have a lot in common with The Beatles? We have accents and definitely have compared ourselves to Jesus at least once. But besides that, we also like tours of the magical mystery variety. Except this time instead of a tour it's a tier as in "tier ranking". That's right - we finally decided to rank video games the way people rank Beatles members' hair (Ringo is S tier). So what video game franchises did we choose? Welcome to the "Magical Mystery Tier" where what you want and what you get are two completely different things. Just like Beatles songs! So strap on your guitar, start dating a woman named Yoko, and join us for a weird tour across gaming!Check out the video of our tier ranking!https://youtu.be/e44iMRwwHoI?si=V9bmvfmUJsR0gpTt

  23. 95

    OMGame Boy #57 "Cameo Crunch"

What do James Bond, George Lucas, and Max Payne all have in common besides resting b*tch face? Give up? They all in some way contributed to some of the most famous developer cameos in video game history. Remember the "TOASTY!" guy from Mortal Kombat? He worked on the actual game! But what made some successful and others forgettable? Does having a cameo count as "jumping the shark"? On today's bonus episode, we chat about developer cameos, bananas, friend's wives, and more. No wait, actually that's pretty much all we talk about.

  24. 94

Episode #70 - Ready to Mumble: Rocky Balboa in Gaming

ROCKY BALBOA. Is there a more iconic name in film history? He's the very definition of an underdog and on top of that, his movies are some of the most beloved and respected of all time. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about his career in gaming. After being around for so long you'd think that goomba would have at least one great video game to go with all those belts and that permanent slur. Did all the game designers suffer concussions? Only one way to find out! And since we're from Rocky's hometown, we figured we'd help with his anniversary (Which one? We won't say!) by chatting about every video game the Italian Stallion showed up in. From the ColecoVision to the Nintendo Switch, Mr. Balboa is about to have the toughest fight of his life.

  25. 93

OMGame Boy #56 "VR You Serious?"

Ever since the 90s, VR has tried to blur the line between being a gamer in your mom's basement to floating around in a fantastical world unlike any other...but still in your mom's basement. Early virtual reality graphics were an ugly sight to behold and unfortunately they looked even worse in movies. Was it worth the hype? Did these film become better or worse with VR? Does Russell Crowe really love eating glass? On today's episode we chat about ridiculous 90's VR, how many people got sick from it, and what movies unnecessarily included it. So plug in, zone out and if anyone asks what you're doing just say "VR YOU SERIOUS?".

  26. 92

    Episode #69 - Bohemian RhapsoD-Pad

Let's be honest - all the greats have taken a hiatus: Jesus, Al Pacino, the McRib, just to name a few. We all need to recharge our batteries at some point and come back when the time is right. And we figured it was our time to do the same. So what have we been doing these past 5 months? Are we up to date with who's been cancelled? Do we even like video games anymore? Don't fret - we answer all your questions and also chat about some video game franchises that took a break and weirdly never returned. Thanks for being patient with us, folks. And if you're new here and looking for a gaming podcast for people who hate gaming podcasts, you're in the right place.

  27. 91

PAST PIXELS: The 2024 Clip Show

Can you believe 2024 is over already? It feels like just yesterday we were forcing ourselves to eat hot wings, watching zelda cartoons, listening to a bunch of Creed songs and reliving bad video game memories from the year 2000. And doing it all in the name of podcasting! We really went all out this year and to prove it we made a clip show of some of our favorite 2024 moments. So if you're unsure of what a gaming podcast for people who hate gaming podcasts is, then this might be a perfect starting point for you. See yall in 2025!

  28. 90

    Episode #68 - Holiday Gift Guide 2024

It's finally December and you know what that means, right? It's time for Jesus and Santa to take a long walk off a short pier! We're taking over the season with our annual HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE! If you're new here, every December we put together a list of the best and most exclusive items to buy for anyone in your life. Friends, family, dead relatives, relatives you want dead; we got gifts for all of them! We even break it down into four categories (something Jesus never did): Video Games, Electronics, Lifestyle and of course Stocking Stuffers. So grab a pen and paper, some expired egg nog and of course your parent's credit card - ITS TIME TO SHOP!

  29. 89

    OMGame Boy #55 "Y2K Gaming"

Life twenty-five years ago was so much different. Boy bands were huge, phones were huge and even video games were huge - some even needed 2 discs to run! But is every video game we are nostalgic for ACTUALLY any good now? On today's bonus episode we talk underrated and overrated video games that released on PS1, N64 and even PC in the post-Y2K and pre-9/11 utopia known as the year 2000!

  30. 88

OMGame Boy #54 "Super Mustachio Bros."

Mustaches. Every guy has grown one at some point in their life thinking they look cool when really it's the nastiest thing ever. And that doubly applies to video games. Hell, one famous mascot has never even washed his since 1983, and we're supposed to be ok with that? Who else is guilty of this hairy crime? On today's bonus episode in honor of Movember we decided to check out some famous and famously gross mustaches in videogames. Sonic, Halo, Pokemon - if they had crap above their lips, we mentioned it!

  31. 87

Episode #67 - A Nightmare on Gaming Street

What do Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees have in common besides terrible skin and the inability to find success past the 1980's? They also both had insanely difficult Nintendo games based off their movies. So in the spirit of Halloween we decided to do the scariest thing we can think of - we played them! Join us as we explore the retro hellscape of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1990) and "Friday the 13th" (1989) while talking about trivia, reviews and even songs inspired by these two ugly horror icons. Let's Play? More like Let's SLAY! Btw if you REALLY want to be scared check out our gameplay on YouTube! https://youtu.be/RkoMCNh2KZ0?si=B2JbHHupP7ldFRST

  32. 86

OMGame Boy #53 "Red Carpet Rumble"

Ever since the dawn of Atari, Hollywood has refused to acknowledge the gaming industry and welcome them to any lavish ceremonies. Take Mario for example: every year since 1983 he gives an Oscar-worthy performance pretending he's still a plumber and for what? We think it's a crime that video games get snubbed during award season so of course we took it upon ourselves to create an award show for them! On today's bonus episode we nominated real games that sound fake and gave them fake awards that sound real. Let's get ready to red carpet rumble!

  33. 85

Episode #66 - With Arms Wide Open World

Where were you when you first heard Creed's 'Higher'? No one wants to admit it but that is pretty much the millennial version of "where were you on 9/11?" except cooler and with a tank top. In 1999, Creed was the biggest band on the planet then slowly people just stopped caring. In 2007 another creed took the world by storm but within a few years also had people scratching their heads saying "why did I like this again?". We are of course talking about the long running video game franchise ASSASSIN'S CREED. Join us as we track the trajectory of both creeds and see what happened. We get into made-up history, Scott Stapp rumors, hidden blades, albums that sound better quiet, and much more.

  34. 84

    OMGame Boy #52 "When I'm NSixty-Four"

The Beatles were arguably one of the greatest bands of all time. The Nintendo 64, was arguably...uh, not a great console. So what do these two have in common? Nothing besides the fact that there is a Beatles song from 1967 called "When I'm Sixty-Four" and honestly that's good enough. Join us as we go over N64 games that have the actual number "64" in the title! Super Mario, Wave Race, StarFox, Duke Nukem and much more! Come for the 64-bits, stay for the bad Paul McCartney impersonation.

  35. 83

    Episode #65 - Power-Up Yours

After being away for 3 months we are finally back and we have SO much to talk about! Jk, we haven't done sh*t. But we do think this is the perfect moment to reintroduce ourselves for new or old fans. But after that the episode is up for grabs! What video games have we been playing all summer? Did we see Deadpool & Wolverine? When did we get in trouble for talking about Mortal Kombat "nude" codes? How do we personally know Sabrina Carpenter AND Bart Simpson? Out of context some of these questions seem like nonsense and honestly the answers are even worse. Thanks for waiting for us and we promise you'll have an inconsistently good time!

  36. 82

    Side Quest Soundtrack Vol. 2

So we have good news and bad news for you. The good news is you're about to listen to a new episode that includes original songs so hot that your phone will probably explode. The bad news is this will be the last episode before we go on a break - our first break since 2020! This year we vibed like it was 1984, made a bracket for march madness, forced ourselves to watch a bad cartoon and burned our mouths with hot sauce. After all that wouldn't you need a break too? Thank you for the past 4 years of support and we'll see you when we get back.

  37. 81

OMGame Boy #51 "Ready Player Hot Ones"

HOT ONES is a show where celebrities are interviewed over a platter of increasingly spicey chicken wings while being asked questions that probably make them nervous. Sounds like fun! On today's spicey bonus episode, we take a page out of Sean Evans' book and try out some chili-induced liquid while trying not to seem uncomfortable. We didn't have any famous people, but we did find a list of the hottest video game characters on the internet, so that's more than enough to make things awkward. Forget gaming - it's READY PLAYER HOT ONES time!

  38. 80

Episode #64 - Arcade Fire Sale

What does pop idol Taylor Swift and the famously fun TMNT arcade game have in common? If you said they were both unleashed on the world in 1989, you'd be right! Unfortunately that's where the similarities end. Aside from collecting dust in a nerd's basement, arcade machines hit a dead end while Taylor, well, you get the idea. So what actually killed the arcade industry? Can owning an emulation of BurgerTime or Mortal Kombat really emulate the past feeling of having bad BO and being a prude? On today's coin-op episode, we chat about our favorite arcade games, some controversies, and much more. So stick a quarter in wherever you listen because if you don't, we got next!

  39. 79

OMGame Boy #50 "A Link to the Cartoon Past"

In 1989, The Legend of Zelda was already one of the greatest video games of all time. That same year, the cartoon bearing its name unfortunately wasn't so lucky. Whose idea was it to make Link so annoying? Was Ganon always a boar who said one-liners? Is everyone in the voice cast dead? On today's bonus episode we do a live commentary of an episode of the Nintendo-disapproved cartoon. Join in and watch along by clicking the link below. Or don't - we can't Triforce you to do anything. https://youtu.be/sVOwhAFe-yE?feature=shared

  40. 78

Episode #63 - Goldeneye Told You So

007! You know what those numbers mean and who they belong to. And if you were a kid in 1997, you definitely knew because it meant begging your parents to buy you a video game based on a two year old James Bond movie. Since we can't pay our parents back (I refuse to), we figured the next best thing was to talk about everyone's favorite Pierce Brosnan simulator - GOLDENEYE for the Nintendo 64! In today's episode we chat about multiplayer cheaters, fake sequels, and much more. So call up three ugly friends, order some nasty pizza, and put on your best suit because today YOU have a license to kill!

  41. 77

OMGame Boy #49 "Gaming Class of 1999"

Fact - 1999 was THE best year for video games. This is not up for debate. With hard hitters like Final Fantasy VIII, Donkey Kong 64, Resident Evil 3 and even Shenmue, we as a species had peaked in creating playable perfection. But what other games came out that year? Was it more failures than franchises? On today's bonus episode, we chat about the gaming class of 1999 and other nonsense released before Y2K. Frost your tips and get ready to go back in time to when gaming on a 30" TV was a huge effin deal!

  42. 76

    Episode #62 - March Mad-NES!

It's March Madness, so of course we made a bracket! But if you think we made it using college basketball teams, you're not going to like this episode. What's better than betting on sports teams? Betting on video games, of course! On today's slam dunk episode, we make video games battle it out and pick a winner based on reasons we don't actually remember. Does Halo make it to the Final Four? Will Rocket League be part of the Elite Eight? How can Simspons Arcade avoid being eliminated early? Follow along and let us know who you think should have won!

  43. 75

OMGame Boy #48 "Weather Warning Waggle"

WARNING - severe weather has been reported in the area. Please advise if you are Mega Man or any other gaming character, stay indoors. Do not try to speedrun! For the past 30 years, harsh weather and natural disasters have played an integral part in gaming but whether they make sense even being there is another story - just ask Chris Redfield about that volcano he visited. On today's bonus episode we chat about video games that have been hindered by floods, snow, earthquakes and yup even Godzilla!

  44. 74

Episode #61 - Main in the Mirror

Doppelgangers suck! There's always some mirror character in a video game that wants to kill you and it really doesn't matter why. Maybe your name is Mario and someone you bullied gained weight and wants to destroy you in golf or tennis. Or maybe your name is Solid Snake and a clone of yours dressed like your dad's friend just to reveal he hates you. I mean, these things happen. On today's episode we talk all about gaming doubles, look-alikes, evil robots and more! So stare into a dirty bathroom mirror, count to five and get ready to be scared by an evil mustachioed YOU!

  45. 73

OMGame Boy #47 "Jeers of War"

War! What is it good for? Absolutely, nothin! Jk, it's good for mowing down monsters with a chainsaw gun while chugging Mountain Dew and yelling slurs. If that sounds familiar it's because we just described every gamer that played 2006's GEARS OF WAR, the Xbox exclusive that kickstarted a new era in gaming. Who is Marcus Fenix? What is the Locust Horde? Why haven't they thrown on shorts and challenged each other to a game of basketball? On today's bonus episode we talk about the influence the series has had including books, toys and even lawsuits!

Episode #60 - New Wave Noobs

There are many moments that defined the 1980's; Ernest starring in his own movie, Alf crashing on earth, Bob Dyan singing "We Are the World" just to name a few. But it was the debut of a tv show that changed everything forever. Cool had a new name and it was MIAMI VICE. Even video games copied the vibe of the police drama, most famously Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. But that is just the tip of the retro-inspired iceberg. On today's episode we look at numerous games that involve fast cars, white blazers and a ton of Synthwave. It may be 2024, but we're gonna party like it's 1984!

    Side Quest Soundtrack Vol. 1

Is it really "GAME OVER" for 2023 already? This year went by faster than Sonic the Hedgehog. It seems like only yesterday we were doing episodes dedicated to dating apps, rotten videogame adaptations, and polygon Bruce Willis. So we figured what better way to sum up the last 12 months than by giving you EXACTLY what you wanted: a playlist of every intro song we've created this year. Are they made from scratch? Yup. Are they any good? Probably not. Is Dr. Dre going to wish he produced them? You bet your ass. Have a Happy New Year and see all you gamers in 2024!

That's because your favorite duo has been tasked yet again to take over the holiday season with our annual HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE! We break down our favorite gift suggestions by price bracket, region availability and even radiation level. We also tell you who to buy for, where to buy from and how many you should buy. So throw on an unwashed Santa suit, chug some spiked cider and start yelling at kids in a mall because it's that famous time we all know and love: it's Christmas, baby!

OMGame Boy #46 "Birds of Play"

The first Thanksgiving would be a lot different if everyone was a gamer. Pilgrims playing Fortnite, Native Americans playing Minecraft, and Turkeys sitting on neon-colored gaming chairs and talking to their chat members on Twitch. Those fat birds definitely earned some chill time after being stuffed for centuries, don't you think? On today's bonus episode we chat about videogames that involved a turkey (the bird) and also ones that take place in Turkey (the country). And before you ask, yes we packed this episode full of tryptophan so feel free to take a nap afterwards.

    OMGame Boy #45 "Caped Cartridge"

There hasn't been one comic book villian that Superman faced that wasn't eventually defeated by his farmboy brand of truth, justice and the American way. The guy has single-handedly beat otherworldly gods, unstoppable doomsday monsters and even a 90's mullet. But those enemies were nothing compared to the Man of Steel's greatest threat to date - a plastic gaming cartridge. On today's bonus episode, we chat about (and play) the infamously bad Nintendo 64 game, "Superman: The New Superman Adventures"!
