Youth Peace Talks by YPI

In the context of the season on language in peacebuilding, we had a conversation with Lejla from Youth for Peace who is working on a campaign to tackle hate speech. ALTer Hate is a campaign that aims to counter hate speech through activities of education, sensitization, and advocating the acceptance of diversity and inclusion through counter and alternative narratives. To start off the discussion on the topic of language in peacebuilding, we invited our colleague Joep to have a conversation with two alumni from YPI's Young Leadership Experience: Lyra and Laila. In this episode, Lyra and Laila share their personal experiences relating to language as a divider in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but they also explore the potential of language as a connector and a bridge between people. Language is an incredibly powerful tool, and if used correctly, it can be the key to understanding one another and constructively building peace. Enjoy the episode!
