Dry January is coming to a close, but David has one more NA beer to drink, and he goes with Deschutes Black Butte Non-Alcoholic. It's a dark pour and holds up well to the original, which David tried on the show during Flagship February last year.TX Blended Whiskey has notes of vanilla, pear, and is slightly sweet on the nose. Beers and Beards Episode 120: Knob Creek Single Barrel & Untitled Art Non-Alcoholic Watermelon Gose
Beer prices are up and the stock market is down or whatever the song says right. This week we discuss a failed promo that copied from the great Willy Wonka (or Michael Scott depending on how old you are). David has successfully made it through half of dry January and has only drank his mouthwash twice.A fun light non-alcoholic beer was on tap this week as David went with Untitled Art's Non-Alcoholic Watermelon Gose. It was that hit of refreshment without the alcohol that kept him on pace to finish the month strong.A Kroger bottle pick Knob Creek Single Barrel , Small Batch was tried not once but twice (we totally redid this episode). Gary being the astute observer did fail to see that this was 120 proof and while being full of flavor was not agreeable with his sensitive tastes.Use our NEW code “BeersBeards10” for 10% off at Rivalry Brews as well as 10% off at BeardOctane.com with code BeersBeards10.We also have a new sponsor in Athletic Brewing Co., the largest maker of non-alcoholic craft beer. Happy New Year to you and just know we appreciate all the support. David has once again committed to dry January but that doesn't mean he can't drink beer. Just beer with no alcohol, you know like going to McDonald's for a salad. This week he tries a selection from our new sponsor Athletic Brewing and the Dave’s American Dark looks like a beer and tastes like one too. In the finale of the blind testing, Gary has some fine Yellowstone bourbon. It was a shocker how good it was. Beers and Beards Episode 109: Sixth Sense Brewing's Sportsball and Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond
This is the 109 limited edition podcast. Well that seems to be the thing that's hot right now. This week was a fun back and forth as always with some good spirits as we head into football season and some tailgating hopes. David went to the lake. He didn't fish but he did go to Sixth Sense Brewing for some Sportsball which was on theme with the conversation tonight. He also brought up Dogfish Head's new beer and cheese pairings which didn't sound too bad at all. Gary went to the shelf for another pour of Old Fitzgerald Bottled In Bond 8 year old. His days of drinking are numbered so this was a good memory with a good bourbon. It is also probably one of the coolest bottles out there. Four Roses and Yellowstone are about to drop their limited editions for the fall. It's the season of bourbon as we have already talked about Old Forester's Birthday Bourbon raffle. Beers and Beards Episode 107: Puncher's Chance and The Noid by Fibonacci Brewing Company
Hey, welcome back. We have to get back to the basics so no funny business with seltzers this week although we reserve the right to become a seltzercast. That time has come again as we announce the Goose Island Bourbon Stouts of the year. This is our third time doing this and the selection returns with a coffee offering, the first since 2017. Some good stuff in this lineup that drops on Black Friday. A government official in trouble? Yes a Virginia ABC official has been busted for profiting off insider information with the state's rare bourbon allocations. He betrayed the beloved bourbon community for profit. Seems about right. David in his attempt to avoid real sports completed a Triathalon and didn't finish last. He was close but the main thing is he paid his money and finished with a medal, that he paid for. His efforts earned him a little treat of Fibonacci Brewing Company this week and their The Noid. Job well done David. Gary had to detox from all the seltzer so it was back to bourbon. He may or may not have caved to peer pressure that Uncle Mike put on him by calling him names. This week the combat sports inspired Puncher's Chance was a surprisingly nice change up from the bubbly frat boy drinks of weeks past. There may even be some singing at some point so listen for that. While at New Holland Brewing he picked up a Bourbon Barrel seltzer that he tries this week.Gary went to Florida but couldn't talk David into investing in a small 8 million dollar vacation home. Beers and Beards Episode 104: Three Tigers/Seventh Son Boardies and Freeze-A-Ritas
It's Independence Day so why not celebrate with a brand new episode from us! This week David has a collaboration effort with Three Tigers and Seventh Son called Boardies. Gary brings back some 1776 that he first tried on Episode 21.David was out on assignment when he stumbled into Three Tigers Brewing and risked it all with a questionable parking job to get this weeks selection. It was a fruity rendition that hit all the right notes. Gary is self admittedly a popsicle addict so when his wife brought home some Freeze a Rita's he had to try it for the show. He also brought back the James E Pepper 1776 that he first tried 2 years ago.
