163. Arnold Classic Recap, Weightlifting meet tips
This week, Dana and I broke down all things Arnold Classic. It was her first time competing at a national meet, so she was able to provide some insight on the differences between local meets and AO1. With over 1,900 lifters competing, there was every level of athlete. First timers to Olympians. On the episode, we dove into everything from the weigh in process, warm-ups, and of course the 6 lifts on the platform. Being on a national platform is a lot different than your local meet at a CrossFit gym. When you are in new environments that are stressful, one of the most important things you can do is to keep your routine as normal as possible. The meet isn’t the time to try new foods or a different warm-up you saw on Instagram. This was a big meet for me as well because I finally got the motivation back that I’ve been missing the last couple months. Even when you don’t hit the total you want, you can still learn a lot from each meet. Whether you’ve done a bunch of meets or your first one is coming up, I hope you’re able to take something away from this one and crush some weights out on the platform. Follow Me on Instagram

83. Self-Discipline and cold showers
Today, we're diving into our quote of the week. This one is by Abraham Lincoln. "Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most." Having discipline is about understanding this equation. You may not see benefits of what you're doing right now. But, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do the hard things. A cold shower is something I do each day to battle my own self-discipline deamons. Even though it usually only lasts a few minutes, my brain gives me every excuse why not to get in that water. 72. Acting your way to success
What are the people in the top of your field doing that you aren't? When you set a goal, you need to look at what actions you need to take to get there first. I am always looking at what high level podcasters are doing, then implementing things that I like into my practice. I'm not saying to copy the most successful person at your job's exact routines, but take a look at what they do. Do they make 10 more sales call than you? Do they workout twice as much as you? The good part is that every day is an opportunity to be better than yesterday. If you didn't do it today, tomorrow is a new opportunity! What scares you? Seriously, answer that question. We all have that thing that we want to do, but we're afraid of something. The ability to ignore what other's think and go all in on yourself is something that takes guts. If you want to find yours, pick this one up on Amazon!
